My niece listening to her boyfriend asking for her hand in marriage.

The Rose Garden has so many special moments in our life together as husband and wife. We held special dates under the stars many evenings, I proposed to my wife in the park at our special bench we had our third date on. We loved it so much that after four years of dating and being engagement, we held our wedding ceremony and just last year, my niece's boyfriend proposed to her. My sister loved the rose garden and for the two of them to celebrate their engagement under her watchful eyes in heaven, it meant everything to me to be a part of that day. If you have a special occasion or just want to feel the beauty the rose garden provides, do yourself a favor and soak it in and feel the nature around you.

Beautiful garden within Winter Park's Central Park (on the southern boarder). There are plenty of benches for you to sit and enjoy the scenery. Also a beautiful fountain in the middle of the Rose garden with a peacock in the middle of the fountain. Who would of thought it would look so majestic, even for a metal peacock? This is a very popular spot on Winter Park for the family to enjoy or even on a romantic date! But please, don't pick the roses!! We want everybody to be able to enjoy them! This Rose Garden is even available for rent for small ceremonies of fewer than 20 guests. Finally, there's an interesting background to this park, which escapes my mind at the moment, but the Rose Garden was donated by a well known couple in Winter Park. You can find the details on the location, a few signs give you the history of the garden. Interesting read while enjoying the garden.

They host various exhibits at different times of the year to keep things fresh. I was there for Origami in the Garden, which ran from February to September last year, and they had 13 different origami sculptures scattered around the gardens. We got lucky for parking, which seemed plenty, but the gardens was host to several private celebratory events. The people at the welcome center were very friendly and informative, letting me know where to go and giving me useful guides. There's also a small cafe and marketplace before you make your way to the gardens. Overall, the grounds has a fair ratio of both shaded and unshaded areas with different plant species organized in some manner that goes beyond my understanding. You MUST make sure you are well protected by the UV, as it bears down. You should consider thirst quenchers, too. It wasn't too crowded, and there's plenty of semi-secluded spots for a peaceful picnic. I loved that the origami exhibits allowed us to have goals along the grounds. If I go here again, I'd be interested in touring the historic Leu house. The "secret garden" was not really anything except a bunch of foliage, in my opinion, so it was kind of a waste of time trying to find it. The map is very helpful, and the paths are distinguished enough to not get lost. It looks like they had several beautiful options for wedding venues. The Leu Gardens is a great place to pair with some downtown Orlando or Winter Park exploration.

As the name implies, this park is at its peak during azalea season, but don't be discouraged if these colorful blooms are till hidden- there is so much more to discover in this park. Take a walk along the path that meanders under the bridges and around the creek. You'll find tons of special spots where you'll want to pause, take a picture, and enjoy a moment of peace (just thinking about it is putting me in a zen mood!). The park also has a nice stage area which is small, but can be used as a wedding location (I've been a bridesmaid here!). I wouldn't recommend going to the park at night, as it doesn't have lights and can get a bit creepy, but during the day make sure to get your pup on a leash, pack a light lunch, and get ready for the best picnic ever!

Would be a nice spot with the right eye to take photos. The oaks are old and hold so much wisdom. The hard part is finding where to park. The only spot is on the side of the road. I saw people walking dogs through the park too. It's shaded and if you want sun, there are parts that the sun shines through. Enjoy!
