Parking was a breeze in their spacious private lot so getting in/out was simple. I like that. Once inside I navigated my way around fairly easily. I grabbed what I needed and made my way to the checkout. I also grabbed a few gift bags for wine that I purchased elsewhere for holiday gifts. Check out was quick and easy. They carded me which I thought was some sort of joke at first but later realized that's the law as they have to scan your ID. Not a problem and it didn't slow down the process. The cashier was friendly and had that Bostonian accent that I love because it reminds me of my mother. I recommend them and will be back myself the next time in the area.

There are places within walking distance and closer to where I live. What really makes this place stand out are: Friendly owners Reasonable prices Wide selection Let's take the first one. From what I gather this place is owned by a family. They are always very friendly when ringing up my purchases. You actually feel good bantering back and forth between them and you (or me, the customer in this case.). I had a question once about a price over the phone for some vodka. Even over the phone they are friendly. They seem very much like the family next door. Ok, the prices. Well, the prices are reasonable compared to other places I have been. Granted it's sometimes a difference of a few dollars for, say a Jack Daniels. Still, they seem to have the cheapest prices for a 750 ml bottle. Now, they will range depending on what you need. Obviously a bottle of Hennesy (first example that pops in my head......) will be more than a bottle of Jim Beam (which I also happen to like). This brings me to my last point. Selection. You need a good wine to bring to a party for cheese and crackers or a good pasta dinner? Want a beer to go with that cook out in the summer? Absolutely can't be without a gin for mixed drinks? Look, they have it here. The place is clean and always well stocked. So, how do I get there? Well, if you are without wheels (as I am for the time being), you can take the 240 T bus down to Crawford square. Get off and you are right there, next to the Parthenon restaurant and close to the library. By car, just go down main st and they have their parking lot out back.
