I was lucky enough to stumble across this hair salon when my longtime hairdresser had the nerve to…read moreget married and move out of town. I don't recall who recommended me to Diane, but I was happy right from the start. Then, Diane had the nerve to move out of province as well. I was getting a bit paranoid. Was it the colour of my roots? my overly greasy hair follicles? Perhaps I had moaned and shown a bit of inappropriate appreciation for the scalp massage? Luckily for me, when Diane left, she handed me over to Jessica. Although I was worried I would have to search high and low for a new hairdresser, I got lucky twice in a row at Cutting Edge. I can only assume it was not a coincidence and that they hire good quality people. The salon itself is comfortable and fashionable without being intimidating or too "chi-chi". There is a wide range in age of hairstylists so you don't feel overwhelmed with young multi-coloured, pierced & tattooed teeny boppers but not so old you feel you will come out with a blue rinse and set. Overall, a nice well-rounded collection of hairstylists.

It's now been ages since I had my hair cut, I shopped around and even cut it myself a few times (not great, but not hoooorrible!). Today I had an appointment with Brooklyn. She was amazing. Fun, vibrant, and I honestly don't even know what she did. I closed my eyes to drab sad heavy hair and opened them to fluffy bouncy curls. I went from a 6 to a 10 in her care. Added bonus is the head massage when they wash your hair. Not every stylist is even able to wash hair and have me relax, but the massage erased a fully stressful day that preceded it. Everyone in the studio was eye smiling and seemed to be having a good time, definitely a nice energy to be apart of.

After years of following them, I finally made an appointment. Well, it wasn't for me sadly, but I brought the teen in for a birthday appointment. The salon is beautiful, with plenty of parking. The space is comfortable and inviting, and I loved how inclusive and welcoming the stylist was. The hair came out great, and she provided lots of realistic tips for upkeep. Didn't push products on us, but did make some gentle suggestions. I was really impressed that she was able to stay within our budget and achieve the desired look. She did a thorough consultation to make sure she understood what the objective was. I plan to make an appointment for myself soon as well!

I have been seeing Flint at Chrome for a few years now. He actually fixed a really bad hair…read moresituation that happened at a different salon. I love the service that you get. Chrome is the sister salon to Beauty Lounge on Jasper, both salons are owned by William Halabi. William is amazing with his customer service, even as he takes care of his own clients he makes sure that he is overlooking everyone to make sure we are all satisfied and that his employees are doing ok as well. Flint has been around for a long time but everything is always a learning experience and he is so open to taking advice from William to make sure that his clients are satisfied. I love that they do not try to push product sales. I recommend everyone call them even during the pandemic they are very careful and organized.

Please see screenshots. Update #1: Sierra was on leave. I was booked with Flint. Shocking how bad the haircut was and then the Owner kicked me out, with wet hair, because I complained about the cut not being what I asked for and asking for my haircut to be fixed. (See pics) William the Owner accused me of belittling the staff and was verbally abusive toward me. That is not who I am and I did not speak badly to anyone. And in case anyone says otherwise, the entire interaction was captured on video when I documented the haircut. The Owner is highly unprofessional and has no business ethics. Apalling behavior. No one deserves to be treated that way. I do not recommend Chrome Salon. Original Review: Sierra is the best! She really listens to how you want your hair to look, then does it! Her haircuts last! Sorry Sierra!
