Get involved to MAKE IT SOONER. This is what I got. I WILL plan, God willing, to attend the McCully/Moiliili Neighborhood Board meeting on this Thursday, 12/6/18, from 6:30-8:30pm at St. Mary's Episcopal Church on S. King St. I will encourage my brother to also attend. I gained a lot listening to Chris, Janelle, Dylan and Jackson and they are to be COMMENDED with their colleagues and their Executive Director, Shawn (sp?) Hamamoto, for a job WELL DONE. They educated and inspired and MOTIVATED me to take the FIRST STEP to "return to the community" by serving the community.

Our carbon monoxide alarms went off twice. The first time I had housing replace the alarm and the second time, I was scared there might actually be carbon monoxide so I called them. Upon arrival, the captain introduced himself and reassured me that everything was going to be ok. He explained what he was going to do and took off with his team. While he was in the house with his team, another fire fighter stayed with me and walked me through more of the process. I wish I caught the gentleman's name because he was equally as sweet as the captain. In the end, nothing was wrong but faulty wires/alarm. I felt like a complete idiot but every single fire fighter reassured me that I did the right thing. What an amazing fire fighter department we have here.

Planning of training at all levels was a mess, I worked at individual unit level and Division, and though many leaders tried to fix it, it was not. It appeared that many field grades and above wanted to leave their mark on the division and make the unit seem more valuable and important than they were. But forget about the soldiers suffering at the individual level due to the overwhelming optempo. It's Hawaii. Let the soldiers experience it and remember that they are people too, and giving them a few hours off once a week for mahalo Thursday or whatever it is now doesn't make up for the lost time in training and packing out! Don't get me wrong, the need for a unit in the Pacific, but the equipment, facilities, and training cycle all need to be revamped. I know CoS will not budge as "it's Hawaii", so with that said, maybe take care of the soldiers like Big Army thinks you already are! By the way, 2 stars are very generous since I lost my retirement by 12 days because of this less-than-stellar HHBN leadership at the time! thanks guys! But I will still bounce back and be amazing since life out of uniform rocks!

This is no ordinary post office…read more First off, it's not easy to find. Not by a longshot. It's not like you can put the address, 438 Hobron Ln in Waze and just drive right on over. That will only get you to beautiful Eaton Square. When they describe the location of this branch is in Eaton Square, they mean way up in there. You can't even see the office from the street. You need to find parking, and walk up into the complex. Way up. I had no idea where I was going, as it was my first visit to Eaton Square. To find the place, I figured I needed to think like I worked for the Postal Service. OK, so if I was Postal Service management, where would I locate this branch? I'd put it somewhere where no one could find it, that's where. Some place so rediculously remote, there's no way annoying customers could discover the location. Damn right! In the center of the square I spotted some stairs, but I couldn't tell where they went. Yes! That's got to be the way, I thought. Stairs are enough of an impediment to stop plenty of customers. I trudged up the stairs, and around a corner I noticed an indoor koi pond and fountain. Above the fountain there was a little mezzanine. I couldn't believe it, I had found the crazy Eaton Square Post office. There was one window open and a customer was being helped. I enjoyed the relaxing sound of the fountain and passed the time watching the koi swim around. I was very impressed with the customer service at this branch. The employee was helpful and efficient. Probably because he doesn't have to deal with the same number of customers other post offices do. Mikey C says: well played, Post Office Management!
