We just walked from the parking lot to the stairs for some pictures and I think I would've been able to make it up, but making it down would be the treacherous part. The entire area is beautiful and while I was walking to the trail I stumbled upon the range that is right next door, I was surprised and delighted! Thanks very much to Willow, Gem & his wife, Capt. Matt, Divemaster Charles, and the other 3 Divemasters aboard, it was a tremendous day! Due to a last minute addition of an EAN certification, I was able to make my first two EAN dives. Gem worked with me to get quickly up to speed when I arrived late (my fault). Despite this I was able to complete my EAN certification in time for the dive. Capt. Matt gave a very thorough and professional boat safety briefing before we left, and it was clear from all staff that safety is first. Divemaster Charles briefed each dive in detail, with clear instructions for ingress and egress. The three sites had varying degrees of difficulty: LCU (deep + current), Skimmins Ledge (drift), and Sea Caves (shallow & drift), and each required some special planning. Charles made everything clear and easy to understand. Safety is first with this crew, but close behind is Divers satisfaction...they all worked very hard to make sure we had a great day. I want to thank the whole crew, and I apologize for not remembering all the names. A special shout out to Divemaster Elena (sp?), who recently became a US citizen -- we are proud to welcome you! I chose Island Divers this time because I have never lived on the Windward side, and really wanted to see something different. But I will go with Island Divers next time because it's a great shop - and by that I mean its a great staff.

We had about 10-15 minutes to explore and take our photos and videos. Unfortunately, not enough time to walk down to the sandy beach area. The view is amazing and we got to see the blowhole in action. It's quite peaceful despite the groups of people coming in and out of the parking lot. If I ever get a chance to return to Honolulu, I would definitely hike down and get in the water!

Parking: Don't leave anything valuable visible. This includes backpacks. Hike itself: There are ~1,100 steps, it feels like a stair workout, it is more than okay to stop, but best to stop on the sides to let others go or down. Great for sunrises and sunsets. Could take about 20-30 minutes each way if you don't stop too often. Bring water!! There are no fountains up there.

Probably is because I search for all my shells personally which are treasures from the beach no diving just walking along as I love the escape along side of the waves. Wailupe Beach Park is a place I happen upon as I had plans to go elsewhere only to make the wrong turn and ended up here, this tiny but lovely park. Just at the end of the H1 East bound freeway which starts with Kalanianaole Hwy is this little escape where there's a few parking stalls, benches and restrooms it's not much of a sandy beach as it's mostly rocks but the views are just breathtaking and calming, I was looking for a photo op for my newest bangle creation...on that I've been working on for awhile trying to figure out how to design. Ikigai...not to just find meaning but what makes you happy the Japanese way of finding your ikigai and after much thought came up with the rings of Ikigai. Though there was no wind on this humid hot day the views was so relaxing I found myself just getting lost in the beautiful scene we're so blessed to have and thank you for the spot to show my newest bangle.
