We just walked from the parking lot to the stairs for some pictures and I think I would've been able to make it up, but making it down would be the treacherous part. If you are feeling a little jet-lagged and waking up too early, I recommend getting here during sunrise. Multiple hiking trails are around this area, so make sure to head to one of those next. Besides the blowhole which is what is famous for, you can also access a small beach cave where I got to see a few turtles hanging out around the beach. If you decide to go down to the beach make sure to wear tennis shoes since it is very rocky. I also recommend coming on a day that is not too windy (it can get dangerous with the strong gusts). Overall a must see when visiting Oahu!

First time was over 15 years ago and most recently 1 month ago…read more Really great hike that can be done within 1-1.5 hrs out and back. 2 areas where it's not a solid trail- holes between the wooden planks that you can fall through if you're not careful- but I found out there are bypasses that you can do off your the right when going up and on the left when you are coming down. Always people overestimating their abilities and when we were there, someone had to be taken away by an ambulance... I think just make sure to start early if you aren't in good shape and take breaks along the way. Also, bring plenty of water and electrolytes. Great views from the top!

Looking up from the bottom doesn't seem that bad, but once you start climbing those railroad ties, reality hits quick. It's a straight-up vertical leg burner. My biggest advice is that slow and steady wins the race. This isn't a sprint. Don't worry about the people flying past you; just find your rhythm and take breaks. Most importantly: be careful and hydrate. There is zero shade out there and the sun will absolutely cook you. Bring way more water than you think you need and wear good shoes. Once you finally crawl to the top, the views of Hanauma Bay are insane and worth every agonizing step. Just take your time coming down because your legs will feel like Jell-O. Even if you have to climb slowly, just be careful...Don't worry about anyone else except you.

Probably is because I search for all my shells personally which are treasures from the beach no diving just walking along as I love the escape along side of the waves. Wailupe Beach Park is a place I happen upon as I had plans to go elsewhere only to make the wrong turn and ended up here, this tiny but lovely park. Just at the end of the H1 East bound freeway which starts with Kalanianaole Hwy is this little escape where there's a few parking stalls, benches and restrooms it's not much of a sandy beach as it's mostly rocks but the views are just breathtaking and calming, I was looking for a photo op for my newest bangle creation...on that I've been working on for awhile trying to figure out how to design. Ikigai...not to just find meaning but what makes you happy the Japanese way of finding your ikigai and after much thought came up with the rings of Ikigai. Though there was no wind on this humid hot day the views was so relaxing I found myself just getting lost in the beautiful scene we're so blessed to have and thank you for the spot to show my newest bangle.
