We have used Central Connecticut Lawn Service for many years and have always been satisfied by their service.

Not happy at all with Central CT Lawn Service. I DID have a decent lawn until they started. I have brown spots and dead spots and have phoned them and all they said was you should have us arriate your lawn. THEY ruined it and they should fix it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! HORRIBLE OWNER!!! No return phone call, after weeks of me calling and leaving messages. I used this lawn service for several years and they STINK!!! I have a front yard full of bare spots and weeds. Really only weeds growing. This year I decided to not use them, as their results were very disappointing year after year. This year, they never called, emailed or sent snail mail-which they have done every year, to get my business. But, they showed up unannounced and put down treatment. I called immediately and told them I wouldn't be paying because I didn't ask them to come. NO RETURN CALL! They never want to talk to customers. I've called 4 times, no response. But, they sent me a bill for the treatment. Still, NO PHONE CALL from anyone. HORRIBLE service. Do NOT USE THEM!!! read more

I had them a few years and they WERE good (except or controlling crab grass and stopping spread. 2024 year was the worst lawn in the area. End of the year they said they help with my first application free this year, which of course I didn't get. I cancelled and have a new on looking at the damage and what to do. read more

My lawn has never looked better thanks to the guys at Central CT Lawn Service. They resurrected a baron looking, weed and crabgrass filled lawn with a green thick yard. The other day I spotted some grubs and called to let them know and the next day they were here spreading grub control. Rick and Dave are awesome communicators. I appreciate their personal attention. read more

Terrible performance from my lawn. Gonna need a complete overhaul and have since canceled my service. No way should any lawn look like this with professional service read more

Central Ct Lawn Service - Plenty of dead patches despite having this as lawn service for last couple years - Landscaping Near Me - Berlin, Connecticut

They've been doing my lawn for several years and it looks great! They arrive in on target each season and apply protectants and fertilizer as needed. When I speak directly with them, they've been very nice! So surprised to see the negative reviews. That's never been my experience. read more

I have had Central Ct Lawn service for several years. This year (2020) i had asked the technicians to take a look at the damage on the lawn he said that the damage was caused by drought. I know that it was an extremely dry summer, however i have a lawn irragation an water the lawn 5 days a week. I then had them aerate the lawn, and overseed. After 4 weeks there was no new grass. I ask the technician to stop by and he never showed up. My lawn is nothing but dead patches, and dirt. I find that the technicians was very rude an not easy to deal with. I also had another company look at the lawn they had mention that i had grubs and chinch bugs. Mark G read more

Central Ct Lawn Service - this is my lawn after Central lawn service treated it - Landscaping Near Me - Berlin, Connecticut

'm not even sure where to start but I'll start by saying after my experience today with Matt I'd rather have dirt and weeds in my yard than deal with this company another day. I have been with them since 2018 when they took over the account of Turf Master. First few years were great. Had one complaint in 2018 which Matt so rudely reminded me of today when he gave me a tongue lashing and said we should part ways after I asked two questions about service. After receiving my first call since March about a visit for Tic and Flea control I had asked for a call because I had not seen or heard from anyone in over two months. A few minutes passed and I received a call from Matt. I think i maybe said two sentences about why I had not heard from them and was considering another service and then he started giving me sh!t! I could not get a word in at all. At one point I asked for his manager or the owner to which he replied "he's just going to give it back to me and tell me to take care of it" basically refusing to give me the persons name. When I tried to argue that the company has called me in the past when they are behind he just kept yelling he doesn't have time to call everyone and said we should part ways. I said "part ways? I just called to question service and you want to part ways". He hung up on me. I called the office back, asked the nice lady to speak with a manager and he was apparently there and started yelling at me once again and seems like he made her hang up one me. I ended up calling back and asking another office rep to cancel my flea and tic and entire account and asked for a call back from a manager. Based on the reviews I shouldn't hold my breath. Things started out well with them but my guess is they were riding the coat tails of Turf Masters and their SH!T service caught up to them. My lawn looked better then and has never looked that great since they took over anyway! Matt if you read this you need a lesson is good customer care because you need it, you're rude and clearly unhappy! read more

Central lawn should not be called a lawn service. They should rename the company lawn wrecker!! They first dumped fertilizer on my sons lawn and burned his lawn. He was smart he stopped using them! They just burned my front lawn and when I didn't hear the day someone would be over to fix the burn and called again to ask when they would be coming . The owner called and yelled at me for calling twice! Do not use them.. you get what you pay for.. they are less money then other companies but spend the extra and use a company that actually makes your lawn lush and healthy!! read more

Great job today from Anthony A. and his co-worker. Had a flea and tick application for the protection of our two dogs and the guys really went over and above. They sprayed the lawn of course but also the mulch beds, sides of the yard along the wood line, etc. Very thorough as usual. We have had CCLS for just a few years know and it's been money well spent. Our lawn really has come in nicely and never looked better. They always call at least a day before to let you they're coming which is great.. Thank you CCLS! read more

Central Ct Lawn Service - Backyard - Landscaping Near Me - Berlin, Connecticut

Horrible company! Do NOT use unless you want your LAWN DESTROYED! Many other neighbors in my area had the same problem with them from over fertilizing burns on grass and spreading a fungus to whole lawn from their equiptment that will take years to get rid of! Lawn has to be all reseeded with new top soil to repair! Not only do they lie and play the blame game, they force you to pay the bill for chemicals used to destroy your lawn. Customer BEWARE! They should be put out of business! read more

Extremely poor professionalism! I've been calling and leaving numerous messages on the voicemail of this company for over 1 week so that I can pay my bill over the phone. No one returns my phone calls. I've never seen a company purposefully refuse to ignore their customer's calls when she is trying to pay her bill!! I've only had one application placed on my lawn thus far! When asked why, I was told by Jim that we didn't pay the bill. My husband spoke to the receptionist 2 months ago and paid the bill over the phone. Apparently it was never processed and they supposedly keep no records of phone calls unless a voicemail is left on their phone. I'm appalled and disgusted! The service guy, Jim green, is full of it- he is very rude and asinine! Hopefully the owner can change things before he looses all of his customers! Thanks to Jim you've lost another customer! read more

I've had Central Ct Lawn Service for about a year now. And this is definitely the last year. My lawn has never looked this bad. During one service where they were supposed to fertilize the lawn and spray for weeds. The weed killer killed a number of large patches of grass along with the weeds. I expected some rebate as a result of that but never received one. In another application the fertilizer granules were distributed into my wife's flower beds which killed some of the plants. NEVER AGAIN. read more

First year was great. Dave was awesome with customizing our needs. This year was awful. We had some dead spots, not a big deal...but the last time they came out and "sprayed for weeds" and killed all the grass at the curb of our property along the road. It looks awful. My husband has called, no answer. Left at least one message and no one has called back. Customer service this greatly declined this year. Fixing this damage is going to cost us time and money and they don't even call back. -Kathleen Miclette read more

We have had a terrible experience with Central CT lawn service. Do not hire them. We hired them and had an issue with lawn. They took responsibility for the issue and guaranteed a new lawn with re-seeding. We re-seeded in the fall with many bad spots so they came back in the spring and said they re-seeded but we still have no grass. We pre-paid them for this year too so we have spend over $800. and our lawn looks terrible. Please call another service so you don't end up like us. read more

Extremely rude service. As soon as he arrived to my property he began using explicative language. He was also very rude and inconsiderate for anything I asked. I gave the guy a chance and hired him to do my first application. I called him up to see if it is worth to focus on the back of my lawn more rather than fertilize the front of my lawn since we agreed to kill and reseed the front in August. The guy flipped off on my as soon as soon as I asked him. He was extremely loud and got very irritated, claiming he was a rocket scientist for grass, then immediate removed me from his list of customers just for asking a simple questioned. I have never had someone come over my house who was so rude. A few of my neighbors that used him told me that he was extremely rude. I would rather have my lawn die before I ever hire this company. read more

They ruined my beautiful lawn after I spent the fall and early spring de-thatching and overseeding!!! Hundreds of dollars wasted with their incompetence. Run as fast as you can. They rudely declared it was all our fault we had some fungus . Dead lawn tracks everywhere!! Worst lawn in the neighborhood!! Weeds weeds and huge dead spots. Wish I could post before and after photos. read more

My lawn was full of moss dead patches or grass and areas where grass was not growing. My parents used this company so gave them a shot. They did a wide array of treatments to the lawn and overseeding. One year later moss is gone and lawn looks full and amazing. Great company results speak for themselves. They also do tick spraying which has been very effective. read more

I would agree with and have experienced exactly what the other one star reviews have stated! Service provided even without a contract renewal, over seeding when the ground was basically frozen and more weeds and brown patches than actual grass. When complained the service was worse than terrible. Would rather loose a customer than do the right thing. Save your money, stay far far away ! read more

DO NOT ever think about using this company. They are the worst. I have had a beautiful lawn for 17yrs...I got tired of doing it myself so I gave them a try...BIG MISTAKE...Be warned...look someplace else. Mark read more

Horrible customer service. Not willing to work with you to fix the problem they would rather you just go away. Expressed concern and issues with what they call "treatments" not even a call from a tech or owner to try to resolve. Did an overseed for $300 and put down about a 1/4 of what should have been done. Scammers ! Beware spread the word. Waiting for an explanation of services before bill is paid ! Not holding my breath for a call. read more

They are the worst company we have ever dealt with! Using them, we are seeing more crab grass and weeds than ever and have spoken to their tech about our concerns. He promised to take care of it. We now have an abundance weeds, crab grass & nut grass that we never had before! When they do show up, they never do the complete yard and only make a few passes. Several times they never serviced our fenced in back yard. That would require getting off the equipment to open the gate; Guess that's too much trouble. Our yard was "serviced" this morning, yet most areas showed no signs of any product on the lawn. Cameras indicate quick passes, and they were here less than five minutes. Called office to speak to "Sal" about our dissatisfaction and he was argumentative and displays no integrity. He lied about the service performed including blowing off the driveway and patio to explain why you can't see any product and refused to come out to show why no product exists in multiple areas of the lawn! Wow, have you ever seen them blow off driveways and patios after an application? Never seen this happen and we have the cameras to prove it. Stay far away from them! Your wallet and lawn will be much better off! They could care less about their customers or their performance. read more

I've gone through all the other lawn service (Tru-Green, ChemLawn, you name it) and had CCLS recommended to me by my neighbor who used to own a lawn service in the Boston area before retiring to CT. These guys have been head and shoulders above the rest. They actually spread what you've paid for even when they know you're not home! Who woulda thunk it? My son now uses them along with my father in-law. Had them now for 4 years with nary an issue. Highly recommend. read more

I have been using Central Connecticut Lawn Service for over 10 years. The last several years I have had issues getting the grub control done in a timely manner. I had to call every year because they were not showing up in early July when I started to see the grubs in action. Had all kinds of excuses why they did not come. The technician would over seed the small areas that died but did not learn that he needed to come in early July to prevent the issue. This year, I did not get a chance to call and they did not come as of July 23, 2018 so I called to cancel the service. My lawn has never looked so bad. I always had one of the nicer lawns in the neighborhood. I will have to redo a good portion of the lawn and over seed the rest. The most disturbing part of having to cancel was that they did not care that a long-term customer was leaving. It was a quick phone call to cancel. The person on the other end simply said "Ok you will get a check back for the balance of your service. What should I tell the technician why you are cancelling?" Never mind the technician! What about telling the owners? I believe they are getting to large to be as good as they were in the past. Maybe too many customers for a technician to service as in the past. I will be talking to my neighbors, many that I had recommended Central Connecticut Lawn Service to, to look for another service before the same thing happens to them. read more

I was a customer for years. I contacted them to let them know that I was not happy with the lawn this year as I felt they had charged me for an application that was not done as I had weeds and crabgrass everywhere. They didn't care and chose to lose me as a customer. Very disappointing. Buyer beware. read more

4/10/15 Just spoke to Chad from Central Ct Lawn, they came out gave me a lower price than my currant service, I said to the appraiser that this price seems low, he assured me that they have lawns in this area for the same size and price, and they work on cheaper prices because they do big volume, needless to say they called me today (4-10-15) and said they can not do my lawn for the contract price we agreed on of 150.00 per application, the new price would have to be 390.00, my recommendation say away from central ct lawn service! and specially Chad who was very rude and unprofessional! low ball tactics . Thank you, Wallingford,Ct. wish I could put zero star! read more

Do yourself a favor and find someone else. Signed up for their service at the recommendation of a neighbor. End of April and they hadn't come around yet, called customer service who said they would be there during the week...never showed. Following week called again and customer service had the tech call me, who said he would be there the following day (Friday) and went on about how thick they lay the first treatment down and to call him if there were any problem areas afterwards. He was very polite and apologetic but that they were behind because of the late start due to weather, fine no problem I understand. Thing is, they never showed up that Friday.....or Saturday.....or Monday, benefit of the doubt was burned at that point. I called and cancelled. Now it's May, sunny, and the weeds are sprouting everywhere and probably too late to truly prevent the majority of crab grass. I've always done the fertilizer myself but chose this year to try a lawn service so i wouldn't have the hassle or worry about correct timing of applications any longer, these guys completely soured me. I'm usually a very patient man and rarely write a negative review (I'm not perfect) but I believe the service I received was atrocious. Maybe they have more customers than they can handle, good for them, but If you want a company who cares about reliable service, find someone else who wants and needs your business. read more
