Credit card scanner in car appeared to be working but driver demanded we pay with cash. Price was almost $10 more for same drive compared to uber. Our first experience was good. The first driver from the airport was more professional. He told us the cab fair when we got in the cab was $40 right away. This one star review is solely based on this one cab driver alone as I don't know where else to complain, therefore if someone knows where I complain about this cab driver pls let me know. I'm giving this a 1/5 stars for the cab driver Emmanuel Pierre or Pierre Emmanuel. We took a cab from Deaville Resort to Miami International Airport. We got in the car at around 615am and we drove for about 3 min. The cab had a credit/debit machine mounted to the back of the passenger seat that read "credit card accepted here" and the cab driver proceeded to say "cash only" AFTER HE started driving. We didn't have cash and my fiancé said "in that case we don't have cash pls drop us off right here unless you take debit". The cab driver didn't say a word and we didn't know if he heard us or not. He continued to drive and we were still unsure if he heard us or not so we repeated ourselves, "sir, we don't have cash so can you just drop us off here?" And he then YELLS at us "WELL IF YOU ONLY HAVE DEBIT ILL JUST HAVE TO TAKE DEBIT" or something along those lines very rudely. Needless to say we didn't tip him very well. He also didn't even tell us our cab fair total until we got to our destination like our first cab driver experience. I don't know what is their protocol but it was much nicer knowing what our fair would be ahead of time like the first driver did. So be wary of Emmanuel Pierre. He's very rude!!! read more

The next morning when I called to confirm they said they didn't see any record of it. But they said they would send a cab in 5 minutes so I waited. 15 min later I had to call another company. Central Cab has always been 5 minutes early when I schedule the pick up from meridian drive going to the airport every month. I'm not sure why so many people have had such harsh reviews, but they are very punctual with me. The cab drivers 50% of the time do get upset if you want to use a credit card... but that's okay. Try experiencing cabs in Singapore and you won't whine so much about Central Cab. read more

Fooled me twice! Never again! Two times now I have called to schedule a ride from Miami Beach to the airport and both times they never showed up. I've had to walk to Washington Avenue to find a cab and gotten to the airport late. The first time was in the afternoon and I was able to find another cab, so it was just annoying. This last time was really irksome. I called the night before for a 5:30am pickup. No show. At 5:35 I called and was told, "he'll be there in 2 minutes." Yea right. By 5:45am there was still no one. Now I'm running 15 minutes late and I had to find another cab at that hour to get to the airport. I called them because they are a local South Beach company. I called four times over an hour. Each time he said he would "try to send someone." Phrasing like that gave me no indication if he had reached a driver to send me or not. So effectively, I'm held hostage waiting, not knowing if a cab was on the way. By the fourth call he just said "okay thank you sir" and hung up. Central Cab Company, I arrived in Miami Monday the 25th at 4:00 and got into Cab 3260 at 4:15 I arrived at my destination at 5:45-The Double Tree Hotel in Sunrise Florida. The following are my concerns: 1-The cab driver stopped for gas right outside the airport and left the meter running. At the airport and at the gas station I asked him to put his seat belt on so the bell would quit beeping. 2-the driver veered out of his lane so many times that I lost count of the number of people that were blowing their horns at him. It was in excess of 20 times. 3-His speed on the highway without traffic was between 45 and 55. Mostly less than 50. 4- When stopped on the highway and at traffic lights he was at least 5-8 cars away from the car in front of him. Which stimulated multiple cars to cut in front of him. 5- I had to wake him at least three times because he was asleep. The cars around us were moving and laying on the horn. I am 66 years old and am very glad I got out of the Cab alive and that we did not have an accident! I cannot ever remember being afraid in a car before. If your drivers continue to illegally ask passengers where they are going before they let them in the taxi and refuse to accept shorter rides you will continue to go out of business as people move to lyft and uber. I got picked up by this cab company from the Miami airport. My hotel was a 10 minute drive in Doral Miami. I was charged a flat rate of $44.00 USD and was only told of this charge while we had left the airport and were on the highway. When I objected, the cab driver told me that he could drop me off in the middle of the road. I checked with the hotel and with CENTRAL CAB, I should NOT have been charged a flat rate. The most the fare should have been was 25.00USD. In fact, UBER was $15.00. I called to complain to Central Cab, but the cab driver didn't give me a receipt - he told me that he ran out of paper. This was a lie and he duped me!! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. I have now called the credit card company, and have received the cab license number , and will be filing a complaint. This is a good and very customer friendly cab company. The cab driver called us in advance, to let us know he had arrived and where he was parked, just outside our hotel. We were going to the airport to rent a car and afterwards we were headed to the Everglades, he gladly gave us useful advice about the Best place to go and get a tour. One of our party forgot his Ray Ban sunglasses in the cab, so when we called him back to ask if anyone had found them, he found them in the back of his cab, and gladly delivered them to the reception of our hotel while we were away on our trip. Best cab service in Miami hands down. The service in Miami Beach is amazing -- I've literally never had to wait longer than 5 min after calling for a Central Cab there and the telephone operators are all very pleasant and polite. On the mainland it's still the best taxi service but wait times can be anything from 10 to 45 min -- that just seems to be the way it is in Miami. Most of the mainland telephone operaters are also very polite nice and *really* try to help you if they realistically can. (If 45 minutes sounds like a lot to you to wait for a cab to arrive -- yes it is, but other cab companies take up to 90+ minutes to even *send* a cab your direction). Most drivers seem to be prefer to be quiet or perhaps they're just trying to be professional -- but they are definitely pleasant and polite if you talk to them. There are a couple chatty ones who are actually quite funny and will point out sights as you pass by them and tell you interesting stories about the city's history. One other thing -- Central Cab doesn't always take your phone number, so they won't necessarily call when the cab arrives. I've made a couple drivers in Miami Beach wait by accident because they showed up early and just waited quietly. Not exactly the worst problem to have with a taxi service tho imo;) read more

He refused to take my credit card as he claimed his machine was broken and I didn't inform him about my intentions to pay with it??? Why do you have credit card machines in the cab, when we can't use them?? It is because they don't want to pay the 5%?? What service is that. Not like we wouldn't have tipped him more than that!!! The reason I'm leaving this comment now is because tonight after waiting 45 minutes for the cab and calling them to find out where they are they told me 'sorry we are busy. The Eastern European driver in cab 1013 scammed me, he never shut off the meter when I got to fll airport so that the credit card machine would not work, and he lied and said that after three tries the machine freezes, he never shut off the meter, then he said its a new system and he is not sure how it works, I have filed a complaint with dade county, if you have had that in the past let me know as I will follow thru with them. I had written down the driver number (38935, btw) and he actually said to me that he had no way of knowing which one of his drivers was assigned to which cab! Freinds picked up by driver at Sawgrass mall and had to drop them off in Pembroke pines which is less than 10 miles away. Driver got lost and charged them $80.00 for probably a $15.00 ride.
