I was pretty excited to check out Central Bodega on Friday evening. I had heard a lot of great things about this new restaurant located in Nob Hill and it did not disappoint. The decor and aesthetics of the restaurant really grab your attention as you walk into the restaurant. We were sat upstairs and immediately greeted by our server. He offered his recommendations and had excellent hospitality. Throughout our service our water was topped off pretty frequently for the Friday dinner rush. As for the food, we started off with the cantaloupe wrapped in prosciutto and whipped feta. Both I highly recommend. Next, we shared an order of the French mussels. Definitely a tasty dish and reminded me of clam chowder in taste. For the main course I had the steak frites. The steak was cooked perfect and was a pretty good cut of meat. For dessert, we had the bread pudding which was delicious. I'll definitely come back to Central Bodega to try out the rest of the menu. They had great service and hospitality. I came here for brunch and what a great find this was! I had the avocado toast, Spanish style mussels and an Italian sandwich (this was to go for later). I've never had an avocado toast before so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it was light, flavorful and decadent at the same time. My friends ordered a side of crispy bacon to top the toasts with and it made it even better. Everything is better with bacon! The Spanish style mussels were cooked perfectly with a very flavorful broth and some warm bread to dip into. I was afraid of rubbery overcooked mussels, but they were the perfect texture. The Italian sandwich I ordered to go so I could have it later that day. The sandwich was filled with very high quality meats, but there was no sauce. It needed something to make it less dry. None the less, it was still very tasty. Since I was home, I added some mayo and pesto and it was perfect. Cole was our server. He was gracious, polite, friendly and accommodating. My sister and I are both vegetarians. We went to Central Bodega and I ordered an omelette and she ordered the Spanish Eggs Benedict without chorizo. Waiter said it would be no problem to leave the chorizo out. When the dish came, the sauce had squishy chunks of chorizo in it -- seems like the hollandaise probably had the chorizo mixed in already. I ate a biteful and tasted the pork myself. I've been veg for 24 years and found it upsetting. My sis hates wasting food, so she tried to eat around the pork. I informed our waiter, he said he was terribly sorry, but the dish was still on the bill. The classier move would have been to remove it from the bill. read more

Amazing new restaurant located in Nob Hill! I've been waiting to come here for the longest time and I'm so glad that we were able to walk in on a Thursday night. My guess is that won't be the norm after more people here about this place! The staff greeted us right away and sat us downstairs. I can't wait to see what upstairs looks like next time! We ordered their house special for our appetizer, Whipped Feta, and it was airy and delightful. I've never had anything like it before and it was actually really tasty. The server told us that they spray feta through a whipped cream canister and that is such a genius and bold idea! For our entrées, we both ordered the steak frites and they were so amazingly tasty! They come with fries (like steak frites should) and the fries were the perfect amount of crispy. The steak was cooked perfectly, very flavorful, and just gorgeous! For my drink, I ordered the Hummingbird. It was refreshing and sweet, perfect drink for my first one here (I ordered two because it was so good)! Finally, dessert was great! We had their seasonal dessert and it was tasty. Basically their take on a strawberry shortcake, but so much better than your average one! An other great addition to Nob Hill! This is great as a date night spot or for a small group of friends. We set upstairs which had great decor and a surprisingly excellent view of the Sandia's at sunset. The service was excellent, I asked for a whisky forward cocktail and the bartender made an adaption of a vieux carre which was an excellent choice. The other cocktails on the menu were crafted well and had a good variety for all drinkers. The wine list also has a great selection. The food was all delicious. Whipped feta and Spanish mussels were our choice for appetizers. It was recommended to go with the fries over bread with the mussels and it worked out great. Using the crisp fries to absorb the mussel juice was wonderful. The steak frites was cooked perfectly. One of the best in Abq and definitely the best steak in Nob Hill. read more

I was so excited to try Central Bodega after they announced their grand opening - I had been following them on Instagram for a while (would definitely recommend doing so). We came in on a Thursday night for date night and it was the perfect atmosphere for it!They do take reservations, we learned on their website, but we luckily did not have to wait at all and were seated immediately. The drink menu was extensive and with the amount of cocktails it might take a minute to decide which to get, I ended up trying two. I finally decided on a Rhubarb Gimlet which was strong and flowery. I followed it with the Hummingbird which was a little on the sweeter side. Both were delicious! The food menu had a lot of choices but I finally settled on the steak frites and I'm glad I got it. The steak was seasoned to perfection and the chimichurri was very flavorful. The fries were nice and crispy and paired well with their garlic aioli. We sat downstairs at a table by the bar which was nice but I definitely want to try and sit on the second floor next time to see the view and the rest of this restaurant. The staff was nothing but outstanding and checked in on us at every point during our meal. We didn't have to worry about refills on drinks or anything else. Central Bodega did not disappoint! Went for my bday, started with a drink at the bar and then went upstairs for dinner. Our server was super knowledgeable about wine and the restaurant industry, and made a great recommendation for a wine to go with the rack of lamb, which was cooked perfectly. The medley of vegetables and potatoes that came with it was really good, not the same ol' same ol'. My husband had the mussels in fennel broth and said they were really good. We learned the chef is Greek and cooked in a Greek restaurant for many years. The owner of Central Bodega is the owner of Mission Winery. It really reminded us of places we have been to in Napa and Sonoma. Everything, from the entrees to dessert, dessert wines and the service were first class. We are looking forward to going back and also going to the Mission Winery tasting room/restaurant across the street. read more

Smack dab in the heart of Nob Hill is this fusion restaurant in Albuquerque. I say fusion because of the eclectic nature of the menu, offering both nuanced and traditional fare based on European menus and American twists on those recipes. The secret to a great experience at Central Bodega is to head upstairs. A reservation is a good idea. I prefer a seat at the bar upstairs for a more intimate situation and if you're into eating on the couch, that's an option upstairs as well. By far my favorite are the French mussels with toasted bread. Brian, our bartender, will mix whatever cocktail you like and I'm fond of his version of a Sazerac. Service is exceptional and everyone is kind. The menu rotates seasonally, and I really miss the parchment prepared salmon from the Fall! Central Bodega is HANDS DOWN one of the best spots in town. Both its ambiance and cuisine are some of the best I've experienced in Albuquerque, and their service is top notch (which isn't so easy to come by post pandemic)... the very intimate atmosphere (almost European) has a restaurant on the bottom floor and more of a lounge setting upstairs - perfect for a post-dinner night cap! Plus the location in lovely Nob Hill couldn't be more perfect. Menu highlights were definitely the Whipped Feta appetizer, mussels (we had Spanish style but the French looks AMAZING too), and the Roasted Chicken entree. Make sure to also leave room for dessert because the Bread Pudding with the creamy whip is unreal! This place is truly a gem in ABQ, I definitely recommend! read more

I was impressed with this new restaurant and bar!!! The downstairs is lovely but the upstairs is WOW! It's very elegant with decor including chandeliers. They have signature cocktails and a very nice wine and beer selection. I'm a bubbly fan and I liked their selections! I had the French rose bubbly...very nice! They had a beautiful setup for our birthday celebration of charcuterie and baguettes with different oils and butters! They have a very nice menu...nice variety of selections! What a great find! We had walked over to the old Yanni's on Central Ave from our Hotel and were very sad to learn that Yanni's had closed. We decided to go to one of the other standards on Nob Hill, and stumbled upon the Central Bedoga. It looked like it was happening and we decided to try it. While speaking with the Manager Chris, and telling him our tale of woe, he was delighted to tell us that not only many of the staff from Yanni's but so was CHEF! Central Bodega was like a beacon in the night...a haven...one of those places that instantly feels welcoming. We were seated upstairs, and the light and noise level was just right...and even though we were bummed that the mussels were sold out, we consoled ourselves with a wonderful appetizer (Coccoli: Burrata...prosciutto...heaven...) and steak frites. Was excited to try this place at a friend's suggestion. Made a reservation for 8 and arrived to a pretty empty restaurant, which was surprising considering it was peak brunch time (Sunday at 11am). We were seated upstairs and I was impressed with the decor. Everyone in the party commented on how cute the design was! Great light, great views, loved the color schemes. Drinks were tasty, I had the hungry hungry caterpillar. We got whipped feta for an appetizer, also delicious. Our main items came out quickly (yay!). Again we commented on how impressive the service was, considering it was Sunday brunch. I got the chicken and waffles. The waffles were very tasty, but the chicken was very tough on the outside and almost watery on the inside? Confusing to say the least. The person who ordered berry french toast was happy with their meal. Side of bacon was also tasty. Three people at the table ordered some sandwich - the croque madame, monsieur, and the cheese one. Just looking at the sandwiches, you could tell something wasn't right. The "cheesy" one - the cheese was not melted, and it was very dry. The only sauce served with it was ketchup for the fries. Both the croque monsieur and madame had very wet pieces of bread. Another ordered the French Benedict, and the eggs came out well done. No runny yolk in the poached egg, which was disappointing to say the least. I'm not sure if it was just an off day, or maybe someone was new in the kitchen, but for the price of the food and the appearance of the ambiance, I expected better quality dishes. First time in for both of us. We sat downstairs as that was what was available to reserve. It was a friendly atmosphere with very attentive wait staff. The salmon and chicken entrees did not disappoint. We took a peak upstairs and hope to try that next time. We are of the age that could use a little bit more legible menu in the dim lighting. The parchment paper is lovely but clean white or heavier print would be easier to read off of. I won't hesitate to recommend this lovely place to others. read more

Really enjoyed my meal here. First time trying Chablis wine and a local dish (soprapilla?). Wine is like a Chardonnay without a sour aftertaste and the appetizer was divine: soft breast pastry with a burrata spread and prosciutto. This was a salty, soft treat! I ordered steak frites for my entree and the steak was a perfect medium rare with a garlic butter dripping. It came with Maldon-salted French fries with the skin on ... my favorite! Yummy read more
