Blessed Paws has just become ridiculously overpriced for boarding. We used them for years for our…read moretwo dogs and never questioned the pricing. We boarded them a few weeks ago and it was $300+ for two nights of boarding in the same kennel space, did the math and our dogs boarding cost more per night than our Airbnb in Fredericksburg. Pulled the plug, never boarding with them again. I get everything is more expensive these days but I don't know how they can justify their current pricing and their limited pick up hours, which many times have made us have to add on an additional night.

I was assured that someone lived onsite and would watch over the dogs at night. However, after just one night, I picked them up early due to serious concerns about neglect and misrepresentation. Here's what I discovered: *My dogs were confined in their suite for over 16 hours with no potty breaks or access to the faux grass area. *Staff admitted they don't wash food bowls between feedings. My dogs eat a raw pork diet, and old meat was left in the bowls overnight, over 14 hours, before being mixed with new food. *Staff ignored handling instructions for my male dog, using a slip collar instead of his pinch collar despite being told he's reactive around other dogs. I called the facility repeatedly the evening of 10/26/25 (over a dozen times) and got only voicemail. No one returned my calls, not even after I picked up my dogs early the next morning and complained to multiple staff about my concerns. I was later told that the "man who lives onsite" simply sleeps there and has nothing to do with animal care. If a medical emergency had occurred overnight, no one would have been available. If you have large or potty-trained dogs, please think twice before boarding them here. The staff do not follow their advertised care routine or basic hygiene and safety standards. My experience was deeply disappointing and concerning for any pet owner who expects proper supervision and humane treatment.

My dogs are accustomed to being around, just our family and don't always be friend new people readily. They immediately took to the owner, Brian. Our dogs are on a diet where they have a mixture of dry and wet food that require refrigeration or freezing. That was no problem at all for the owner to accommodate. The fellas looked well cared for when my son picked them up! My son forgot to check for the dogs blankets when he picked them up and Brian kindly drove them down to the city where we live so that the dogs would have them. I will definitely use Hicks Farm again and I highly recommend them!

Before she went, I'd worked with her on sit, down, take it, leave it, and some spins with decent success. Brian took what she had and built on it, adding heel, come when called, turn, and stay. He returned a noticeably different dog. When we hit some bumps shortly after, he came back out and spent a solid hour with me going over what was actually happening...not just commands and corrections, but why she was behaving the way she was and what she needed from me to feel secure. (Spoiler: she needed me to be more confident and consistent.) He has a way of cutting straight to what matters without overcomplicating it, and more than once he said exactly the right thing at exactly the right moment. What struck me most across both experiences was how much genuine wisdom he brings to his work. He's clearly someone who has learned his craft through deep experience and observation, and it shows in every interaction with the dog and with the owner. On top of all of that, his pricing was incredibly reasonable; boarding and training combined for what many trainers charge for training alone. We felt genuinely taken care of. Kind, patient, perceptive, and exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.

We have…read morebeen taking our Poodle and Dalmador (dalmatian/lab mix) to Petsuites for grooming, each since they were puppies. From start to finish, everything is professional, attentive, and top-notch. First and foremost, the groomers there, especially Ashley, keep in constant contact before, during, and after their grooming session showing a great level of expertise and care. They really want to make sure you're getting exactly what you want and get to know the dogs better. They take the time to understand our dogs' individual needs and preferences, what we are looking for and ensure a comfortable and stress-free grooming session for them each time. Our poodle is still a puppy and is a bit apprehensive around new experiences/people, but the groomers handle her with such patience and gentleness, instantly putting her at ease. The Dalmador can be a lot to handle and sheds like crazy, but their "furminator" treatment does wonders for shedding dogs and seems to keep her skin healthy for a while after. The results speak for themselves. Our dogs look and smell great, they come out exactly like we hope each time. The attention to detail shows the groomers take pride in their work. Beyond the grooming itself, our girls love Petsuites and our experience there has always been wonderful with amazing service. They go to day play about once or twice each week, and get excited when they know they're going to go play with their friends. Each have worked with Celine, the trainer, on various issues and with great results. Both have had some issues at home which we were able to get resolved quickly through training sessions. Celine is such a great resource to work with the dogs and to help educate us on how to keep working at home. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and designed with the comfort of pets in mind. The staff members are friendly, professional, and genuinely passionate about what they do.

The groomer completely shaved my golden retriever which is dangerous to do. He had zero mats in his hair as I brush them regularly. This absolutely a risk for him to be able to manage heat. My pup's cut was nice, they did decent and what was expected for when he had matts or when I decided to groom him myself (which went poorly). I was prepared for anything since the front desk couldn't give me clear answers of how he was going to look every time I took him. My puppy is low maintenance, no health or allergy issues so far. He still looked cute when we picked him up. They also did good with our family's late senior dog. But my sister's puppy has a lot of special needs. Her care was handled quite poorly and looked nothing like herself. Honestly, after seeing the owner's response to her review, I'm not sure this place can accommodate all kinds of dogs. They seem pretty firm on the one sort of cut they offer, if you have specific expectations it might be difficult for them to meet. One visit should be enough to tell if it's right for your dog and make sure to trust your first gut instinct! Edit: Hi Monica, thanks for taking the time to respond! I hope your business also takes the time to consider good faith feedback. I'm glad that Chixie has cared for lots of different dogs, we just didn't see that reflected with my sister's. We encourage future clients to ask lots of clarifying questions before booking. While every groomer is different, attending customer needs is standard for any business, so there's plenty of options in Houston, but thanks for the well wishes!

Blaming me for your poor work and service is atrocious. It's not a personal attack it's directly related to your service that negatively impacted my dogs grooming. The fact that you're being defensive just shows how terrible this business is. It's so disappointing to see considering how loyal my family was to this business for YEARS. I will gladly accept the before pictures, you have my number. It's rich that you keep saying that yall care about my pets safety, yet yall clearly know nothing about dogs with double coat. "Your dog's coat actually acts as an insulator," explains Dr. Jerry Klein, Chief Veterinary Officer for the AKC. "Shaving that coat to reduce shedding or supposedly to keep the dog cool also eliminates that insulating layer of fur, makes the dog susceptible to heat stroke, and can result in improper hair growth and the possibility of follicle damage. A dog's fur coat protects him from sunburn and decreases his risk of developing skin cancer." I already told yall my dog has skin issues and when I brought her in November I also told yall she was having a hard time growing fur. Shes been whining and scratching more since her grooming. Even my vet said this cut increases irritation. Maybe you should reflect on your defensiveness, practice your dog grooming skills and work on your business ethics. The unprofessionalism is truly appalling.
