I bought my Volkswagen sedan here over a year ago but now feel compelled to do a review. Initially, I was ambivalent since there were some silly and frustrating delays in actually taking physical custody of the car and driving it off the lot. That included some different procedures between how my salesperson wanted that done and what the bank wanted. However, those concerns were quickly addressed in the end, and I was glad to drive the car off of the lot and move on from that episode. So, I didn't plan on doing any review.
Over a year out however, I can say without reservation that I am VERY HAPPY with this car purchase. The car fits me and has never let me down despite all the driving I do. I'll go so far as to say this is the most reliable car I've ever owned. The onsite Volkswagen finance professional followed through on what he promised, arranging a payment amount which is exactly what I requested -- literally. He even was able to include an extra warranty even though it was a high mileage car given the year.
I did get the service vouchers and have faithfully brought my car in for the oil changes and tire rotations with no issues there. Most importantly, this car has functioned flawlessly with not a single surprise. I love the look, reliability, and excellent fuel economy. When I go in for an oil change, it's always been a stress-free experience.
To have some objectivity and balance here, the only thing I did find out is, after I've had the car for almost a year, I discovered that the wheel lock key is missing. I called and asked what to do. The dealership offered to install lug bolts which don't lock free of change. I understand their position which is, after a year, who is to say I didn't lose it?
Instead of installing nonlocking bolts, I just went ahead and ordered some new locking ones online (with a key) and the dealership said if I did that, they'd install them free of charge. So, if you do buy a car here, make sure it has the wheel lock key in the car someplace before you drive it off the lot. I haven't had any flat tires fortunately, but it would have been quite a surprise if I did then couldn't remove a wheel! I wondered if the service department had accidentally kept it but was told the technicians have their own complete master lock key set.
Also, I'd encourage any salesperson to be realistic when giving customers a date when their new car will be ready for pick up. If I'd known that it may be two weeks instead of a few days, then that would have bee cool; I could have made other transportation arrangements within that time window. My old car was at the end of its life and not so drivable, which is why I showed up "just to look around" in the first place. That's right -- I was hesitant about even having a new car payment and thought about getting a more affordable used car from a private seller.
It looks like many reviewers have come here to air grievances. I didn't want to do that and didn't write any review before. With the benefit of hindsight, I can decisively say that it was all TOTALLY worth it, and I imagine it'll be worth it for you too, if you give this business a chance.
