I have shopped here for many years and have gotten many nice things, but everything is extremely…read moreoverpriced and recently me and my boyfriend were there and we had come earlier in the day and we had come back later as the sun was setting to use the rest of our money, and he had held two 1.50$ stress toys near his pocket (keep in mind he never put it in his pocket) which we paid for at checkout along with some other items we bought, the next evening we got a text from our friend and they had posted us on instagram and facebook saying we stole the two items, which we did NOT, we paid for them at the counter like i said, so i text the business number and let them know we did not steal anything and that we paid, they took it down the next day and left me on read without any apology for trying to publicly humiliate us.

High Cotton is a 5,500 sqft spot located in downtown Dickson that specializes in antiques, crafts,…read morerefreshed goods along with new, packaged gifts. Like your normal antique shops, there are many vendors who have their own booth, so items can range in variety and price with each step you take. Unlike your normal antique shops, you are greeted by a 6 ft catfish at the front door and there is a fantastic mural on the side of the building! We came by in search of antique/refurbished furniture, more specifically a kitchen table. Sadly this place does not have many furniture vendors, but what they lack in furniture they make up for in eclectic variety of everything else from candles to art to retro kitchen sets, restoration kits, incense, vintage toys, clothing and all kinds of knick-knacks. Service was non-existent sadly. The attendant was present, but could not be bothered with looking up from her phone as we wandered around the main floor where she was located. There were many people coming in and out, and she did not speak to anyone. I get it may not be the most exciting spot to be on a weekend, but a little "hello/have a good day" can go a long way. Overall, High Cotton was a cool spot. The location in downtown Dickson is cool as well. The area is certainly small-town America at its core, so once you are done wandering around inside, hit the sidewalks and do the same on the square. We live in Nashville proper, but this spot makes for a good afternoon weekend trip everyone once in a while!

According to the website, "You'll never know what you'll find...not just another junk store...a…read morevery cool place with very cool things and where very cool people go." I stepped inside "cool" while visiting Nashville. I'm happy I did:) FIVE stars for the eclectic array of items offered; the metal lighted signs made & sold here; for longtime staffer Ron; & for the wonderfully vibrant blue-acccented old brick building that houses this business-- SEE EXTERIOR PICS. This fun mismash of creativity is open 7 days weekly from 10 AM until 5 PM. Here you'll find vinyl (albums & singles); posters; pipes ($15); magnets; weed bags; guitar cutting boards; old Playboys (thankfully still wrapped); vintage books; costume jewelry; T-shirts; baseball caps; porcelain skulls; vintage clothing (2nd floor); vintage furniture; metal signage; & the handmade lighted signs that Skip & Ron make, along w/ much more! SEE THE PIC of Ron working on a sign! Many area Nashville businesses purchase these interior signs for their own businesses. The ones on the walls of this shoppe range in price from approx $250 to $300-- SEE PICS. I walked out w/ a $3 mint condition 2020 lined cigar box (perfect for costume jewelry-- SEE PIC) & a $15 mid-century-look ashtray. I also exited w/ fascinating history that precludes this fun shoppe-- Ron, a former Dixieland musician, is an interesting guy! He appeared a little rough around the edges @ first, but before long he was talking & adding intrigue to COOL STUFF WEIRD THINGS. If you're looking for a nontraditional, interesting shoppe of This & That, you'll find it here. It's a cross between a souvenir shop & a vintage shop-- one w/ PLENTY OF FLARE!

Worst place I have been in...ever. My wife and I will never go back…read more Worst owner. He was narcissistic, rude, condescending and cruel to customers who simply asked about prices. Vile human being. First. Super dirty feel. Did not feel like the "store" which is filled with junk has ever been swept. All the items are either overpriced, tourist crap (t-shirts, cutting boards, trucker hats.) the book and record selection was absolutely pathetic. Still we wanted to support this business. I didn't dare say anything because of what happened next. I witnessed the most ugly customer service ever in any business we have ever been in. First, another customer, an elderly man asked about book prices, and the owner basically told the man that he was cheap for asking. Then all hell broke loose when another customer bought some items that were clearly labeled as one price (I checked,) and the owner switched up the price on that customer to try to get more money. The owner lied to the customers face and then he got hostile. The customer said they didn't want the item, because the price was clearly marked, and it's the only reason he wanted the item. The owner reacted like he was being attacked...then he started screaming at the top of his lungs, basically calling the customer a liar. Then the owner started yelling profanities and vulgar language at the customer. Basically saying that he was going to "SA" the customer. It was CRAZY! Then, condescendingly, the owner told the customer to put the items back where they got them, and the customer refused. The customer told the owner that he didn't appreciate being called a liar, and the price was clearly marked. After the owner shouted "f- you." Four or five times, the customer, who was on his way out and said "f-you too, you're a liar." That enraged the owner to the extent that he started screaming and every other word was the f-word. Then it was a shouting match, because the customer had enough of the abuse and verbal assault for no reason. All over the owner either mistaking or forgetting the right price. The customer's friend was there and helped the customer walk out as the man was basically calling him a bigoted slur that shocked even people walking by outside. I ran into the couple at the bookstore down the block (Rhino Books,) where they were calming down. They pointed out that, over the years, they have bought over $100 on books, records and souvenirs from that place. At Rhino, the man spent over $500 on books, so they had money to spend that day--the customer was a really nice person who drove two hours to visit the VA in Nashville, and he chose to go to that store to support local businesses. The owner had been screaming at a decorated war veteran who was disabled! The customer was in the right this time. When I left "Cruel Stuff," I saw that the customer was right about the price. I usually only write positive things if I can. I have nothing to positive to say about Cool Stuff and Weird Things, I would call it "Cruel stuff and rude things." This owner was absolutely rude and what he did and said was completely uncalled for--the way that owner treated his customers...and then screaming I waited two days to say anything. I debated about posting this. That customer wanted to help this business out, only to be screamed at, and it was a good thing that customer had his family member with him because that rude owner was about to get violent. I don't care if they sell full-sized, brand new Corvettes for $20, me and my wife will never set foot in this store for as long as I live. Zero stars. Shame on this owner for verbally assaulting customers simply because his store is poorly organized and he doesn't even know his own prices. It's a damned thrift store, and he is so delusional that he thinks people don't barter in thrift stores. That's what is normal.
