Right from the get go I knew this place was going to be good. It had that musty smell. You know that smell when you walk into grandma's old house? Come to think of it, when I was young, and I first smelled that smell, I thought that it was grandma. But I soon found that It was old gold just waiting to be rediscovered. After poking around a bit I stumbled upon a real cool huge glass bottle. I've always wanted one of those. I said "hey Missy, check this out" I know, she replied as she was talking to a clerk. She spied it before I did. She was attempting to negotiate the price to a more favorable proposition. The clerk said that she'd have to call the gentleman who is selling it. So we went on with our treasure hunt. This store has a lot of twists and turns, ups and downs in it. Stuff is everywhere. Search closely to uncover a special find. We did and we found. I lost track of Missy somewhere in the labyrinth of rooms and aisles. When we met up again it was by the front counter. I asked if she heard from the seller of the big bottle. Missy said "I sure did daddy, happy father's day!" That girl made the deal and I am now the proud owner of a 13 gallon glass bottle. I love that girl! What am I going to do with it you ask? I'm going to fill it with coins of course. My 5 gallon bottle is full. Quick Tip: Be careful going up and down the stairs going up to the second floor. The steps are about half as wide as normal stairs are. I told my granddaughter that they were like this because back in the day women wore hoop skirts and had to go down the stairs sideways. Oh grandpa she said. Those are my favorite words.

Fried items are fried fresh; they don't sit in a steam table abdcget mushy. The sides are made from scratch and don't forget the strawberry cake for dessert! Christmas Day dilemma....a family member with Covid and our regular pharmacy (as well as others…read morenear us) was closed...how can we get their prescription filled? Posted a note on a neighborhood social site seeking suggestions and someone mentioned they were reasonably sure this one was...even on Christmas Day. Phoned the pharmacist (Jason) who was able to transfer the prescription to his store and fill it. Drove 45 minutes to Columbia to pick it up and was greeted by a very friendly assistant (Teresa) at the Drive-Thru. Prescription filled immediately and I rushed back to Franklin with the meds. What a blessing! Super accommodating service by caring and professional staff. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! Other notes: I glanced inside and saw all staff wearing masks but several customers were not - so Social Distancing and safety measures may or may not be enforced. Not only is there a ton of beautiful home decor and gifts (think Joanna Gaines/Fixer Upper style stuff) but also some clothing as well. Compared to similar boutiques in Franklin and Nashville, I found the prices to be very reasonable too. I will definitely be stopping by this store every time I'm in Columbia, because it just makes me happy. Now that my favorite gift shop in Franklin has rebranded to be less home decor and more clothing boutique, Faded Farmhouse fills a gap for me. #shopsmall #shoplocal
