My older daughter was having trouble deciding so my three year old son kept tossing around a dog he had decided on. While doing that he dropped it a few times on the floor, where a worker brought that to my attention, understandable, so I placed it in my basket. Finally we had all decided on a jelly cat and my son changed his option to another one I took a look at the dog and he was still in great condition so I put it back. When we were about to pay the cashier bluntly expressed if we would purchasing the dog since my son a dropped it. It wasn't the situation that frustrated me and it was the way I was approached about it. You know what I bought them all because I didn't want to ruin my children's experience that I had hoped would be different. She then tried to be nice about the situation but honestly my husband and me felt uncomfortable. We witnessed another child tossing and licking other stuff animals and left without buying anything, yet here we were buying 3 jelly cats and then almost forced to buy a fourth getting rude customer service. I am an avid collector and am always looking for the new jellycats that release and Deckers always has their hand on the pulse of what is coming out and what will be popular. Most stores in the area that have small selections of Jellycat tend to up charge for them and this defeats the purpose of me buying online from the Jellycat site. Dawn and Dan are amazing and so personable and knowledgeable about all of their products and are super kind and caring towards everyone that enters their shop. TL;DR: The win rate on the machines seems to have gone down significantly, and more than half of…read morethe machines now seem to offer items in blind bags, which are close to impossible for claws or kids to grab compared to plushies and other items. The value-to-experience ratio just isn't what it used to be. We've come to Top Canvas multiple times before and always had a great experience. We've even recommended it to friends. They still have a really wide variety of machines, but unfortunately, the experience and service seem to have gone downhill. In the past, the workers were incredibly attentive and would help our daughter and her friends rearrange items to make them easier to grab. They weren't just giving things away for free, but they made sure the kids had a reasonable chance of actually winning something. The win rate on the machines was also relatively high, and the prizes were generally easy enough for kids to grab. It was a great, albeit slightly expensive, value. Our most recent visit was very different. The machines had a close-to-zero win rate, and even when a worker rearranged a couple of items for us, they basically just tossed them around in the container and walked away. They didn't actually make them any easier for a small child to grab. We left with one small item, and while we completely understand that winning isn't guaranteed (that's the nature of these games) that's not really what made Top Canvas great in the past. What made it stand out was that it felt accessible and fun for young kids. Unfortunately, that no longer seems to be the case.

After making our selections, we went to the register to check out, but no employee was present. While waiting, I briefly looked at some hair clips nearby while my friend waited by the register. When the employee eventually returned to the register, she completely ignored my friend and me and instead assisted the customer standing behind us in line. Even the customer herself acknowledged that we were there first, yet the employee responded rudely and stated she would help her first regardless. The interaction felt unnecessarily hostile and unprofessional, leaving both my friend and me confused and uncomfortable. Due to the poor customer service experience, we decided to leave and visit a different location instead. I strongly recommend that management provide additional customer service training to ensure all customers are treated respectfully and fairly.
