Currently in the midst of my free two week trial...they offer to all new students! It's pretty nice…read morebecause it's unlimited meaning can go to any classes and any of the 3 locations. I'm on track to complete 17 classes during this time. All of the instructors I've practiced with have lead a nice class. Of course there may be some personal preference differences in terms of music selection or flow, but there are enough different times and instructors to be able to pick and choose which class you would want to go to. I enjoy the variety they offer in terms of types of classes. I lean towards yoga sculpt, HIIT Pilates, and the 90 min traditional. Restorative I enjoy, but unless I was an unlimited member I may not partake in. There's tons of parking. The women's locker room is pretty roomy and has some nice amenities if needed. Recommend it, if you're in the area.

Recently I had a rare, coveted weekday sans children, so decided to treat myself to a yoga class. I still had an account that was easy to get back into when I signed up online for the single class. I normally do virtual yoga at home weekly, but decided to mix things up and do a Traditional Hot class, which I also haven't done in a few years. Before the actual class, I brushed up on the 26 poses. On the day of the class, I wasn't necessarily greeted warmly, and it seemed assumed that I was familiar with the studio and knew what I was doing. After introducing myself and explaining that I was new to the studio, the girl at the front desk was more friendly and welcoming. I also met Erin, the instructor for the Traditional Hot class, and she nicely showed me around. The class itself consisted of obvious regulars, which was interesting. I like that Erin gave clear instruction, correction, and tips both indirectly and directly (i.e. positioning support). Overall, I liked her as instructor and found her very informative, especially since Traditional Hot is not in my normal practice. Overall, I enjoyed the class and got a heck of a workout that I felt for days afterwards. The only things that I weren't a fan of was that she was very insistent on open eyes (I use yoga as a way to center and calm myself, and usually [unconsciously] close my eyes); she gave about 3 verbal reminders of open eyes during the practice. Also, she seemed to a little overtly correct me with some balancing poses that I was obviously struggling with. (I have Hallux Limitus [limited movement of my big toes] and degenerative arthritis in my feet). During the class, I continued persevering and modifying on my own, but was admittedly wobbly at times. I think that Erin was probably trying to be encouraging, but she was unaware of my physical limitations. I think that instructors might want to keep that in mind when interacting with students: someone might have limitations that are not readily apparent. I enjoyed mixing up my yoga practice with the Traditional Hot, but would probably continue to stick with YBD1 or 2 for any future classes I may attend.

This studio is absolutely amazing and I cannot recommend it enough…read more The Offerings: Whether you are a complete newbie or beginner at aerial fitness or an advanced student who has been involved for years, there are classes tailored for both your skill and comfort level. They have quality classes for pole fitness, aerial hammocks, aerial hoop (lyra), hula hoop, stretching, cardio dance, aerial yoga, and more. I came as an advanced pole fitness student, and they worked with me to place me accordingly between pole, lyra, and hammock. The Staff: Not only are they incredibly knowledgeable about what they're teaching, they're some of the most genuine and nicest individuals I've had the pleasure of being instructed by. They are also constantly celebrating their students through different ways, including events at the studio, outings at fun places, holiday celebrations, or small personal notes. The Vibe: Not only are the instructors amazing, so are the students. At no point did I ever feel unwelcome when I was new to the studio or taking a class out of my comfort zone. We are always laughing, having fun, and constantly encouraging one another. Not only have I made new friends here, but it's always fun to be a personal cheerleader (and have them) in class! Body positivity is also a thing. We also have students of all ages, shapes, and sizes, and they are all truly beautiful. Bottom-line: If you are on the fence about trying classes, you absolutely should give it a go.

There weren't many intermediate or advanced pole classes I could drop into at Rising Goddess (mostly seems to series over a few weeks) so I took an intermediate hammock class instead. Easy to book but bummed that the level changed from advanced starting the week I was there. I was given the grand tour when I arrived. This is a MASSIVE space! Love how many pole, aerial, and dance rooms there are, as well as a kitchen for special events. Everyone was super friendly, to the point where I had to excuse myself from conversation because I was a few minutes late to class. Oops. Audrey was the instructor, and she taught so many fun and accessible combos! Not sure when I'll be back in Oak Brook again but would love to take more classes in the future.

Then you will be registered to sign up online which will show how many classes you have remaining and when they expire. I've attended different times by different instructors and everyone has been friendly and helpful. There are usually openings available and a good selection of classes. Most classes aren't over crowded but have a decent amount of people in them. I like that a lot of the classes you don't hold the positions forever because I get bored of a position fast. All classes seem good for beginners and advanced because the teachers provide options throughout for different levels. There's street parking and a parking garage nearby.

I came here after purchasing my first Groupon and I was unsure of whether the 120 day expiration meant that I had 120 days to activate it or 120 days to use up all the classes. I asked Paul and he told me that I would have a year to use up the classes. Several months later, I went back to use up the classes and Karen told me I owed them money if I wanted to take another class, and to take it up with Groupon to get my money back. I explained to her what Paul told me, and she was extremely unfriendly and basically pushed me out of their business. What kind of business doesn't honor what they tell their customers? In terms of yoga classes, they were only okay. I went to my very first yoga class with Paul as the instructor and I had no idea what I was doing. He didn't bother to help me so I felt like I was doing it wrong the whole time. Since then, I've taken better yoga classes where the instructors actually help correct your poses or push you to improve your practice.

This location offers both in person and live stream classes which is pretty cool. Tara was my instructor and she took the time to explain the class and the materials (aka props) that we would be using during the class. They recommend doing the class barefoot, but I was more comfortable keeping my socks on. Beautiful space. Although I didn't join, I would recommend if you are looking for some regular fitness. Good for all levels as modifications are shown for each move.

Fast forward three years and I have taken 114 classes at this location. B3 is amazing and this location is part of my life primarily because of the staff. Mariel is of course terrific, but she doesn't hire just anyone. And, all instructors must first attend a training in Oregon (where the company was founded). While each instructor has certain strengths, they are all great and committed to your individual success while simultaneously making the whole group working out feel like everyone matters. I am one of very few men at this location, but in this day and age I am actually more comfortable being in such a female-oriented space. This location is not for "bros," toxicity, or ego. It is supportive and beautiful, but still makes you feel stronger and ALWAYS better off than when you started.
