I started yoga recently after years of going to the gym, and working with a personal trainer. Yoga…read moreAmong Friends is awesome. I look and feel better than I ever have and it's only been 3 weeks. People are friendly and the instructors are very knowledgeable. They offer different classes for all levels and are very helpful. I have been to both Janice's and Laura Jane's classes as well as some of the other instructors: Candy, Karen and Joyce. Each had her own style but they were good classes. Just find which class works the best for you in terms of style and time offered. There are still other instructors I haven't met. So in terms of classes offered -- this place has it. This is truly a five star experience!

This is more than exercise, there's a truly special energy here that restores and refreshes, mind, body and spirit. Each time I go I leave my shoes and my stress factors at the door, and I leave feeling peaceful. I am a senior now, and must modify some poses. Everyone is kind and understanding. And helpful! There is no other place like Yoga Among Friends. Laura Jane who founded this studio 25+ years ago is oh-so-wise and inspiring, and her teachers are outstanding. It's a very special place to be.

This studio is absolutely amazing and I cannot recommend it enough…read more The Offerings: Whether you are a complete newbie or beginner at aerial fitness or an advanced student who has been involved for years, there are classes tailored for both your skill and comfort level. They have quality classes for pole fitness, aerial hammocks, aerial hoop (lyra), hula hoop, stretching, cardio dance, aerial yoga, and more. I came as an advanced pole fitness student, and they worked with me to place me accordingly between pole, lyra, and hammock. The Staff: Not only are they incredibly knowledgeable about what they're teaching, they're some of the most genuine and nicest individuals I've had the pleasure of being instructed by. They are also constantly celebrating their students through different ways, including events at the studio, outings at fun places, holiday celebrations, or small personal notes. The Vibe: Not only are the instructors amazing, so are the students. At no point did I ever feel unwelcome when I was new to the studio or taking a class out of my comfort zone. We are always laughing, having fun, and constantly encouraging one another. Not only have I made new friends here, but it's always fun to be a personal cheerleader (and have them) in class! Body positivity is also a thing. We also have students of all ages, shapes, and sizes, and they are all truly beautiful. Bottom-line: If you are on the fence about trying classes, you absolutely should give it a go.

There weren't many intermediate or advanced pole classes I could drop into at Rising Goddess (mostly seems to series over a few weeks) so I took an intermediate hammock class instead. Easy to book but bummed that the level changed from advanced starting the week I was there. I was given the grand tour when I arrived. This is a MASSIVE space! Love how many pole, aerial, and dance rooms there are, as well as a kitchen for special events. Everyone was super friendly, to the point where I had to excuse myself from conversation because I was a few minutes late to class. Oops. Audrey was the instructor, and she taught so many fun and accessible combos! Not sure when I'll be back in Oak Brook again but would love to take more classes in the future.

I love this yoga studio! I'm fairly new to yoga so I decided to buy their 10 class Groupon. Their…read morewebsite is very clear how to redeem it, just show up for your first class with your Groupon (come 20 min early). Then you will be registered to sign up online which will show how many classes you have remaining and when they expire. I've attended different times by different instructors and everyone has been friendly and helpful. There are usually openings available and a good selection of classes. Most classes aren't over crowded but have a decent amount of people in them. I like that a lot of the classes you don't hold the positions forever because I get bored of a position fast. All classes seem good for beginners and advanced because the teachers provide options throughout for different levels. There's street parking and a parking garage nearby.

I came here after purchasing my first Groupon and I was unsure of whether the 120 day expiration meant that I had 120 days to activate it or 120 days to use up all the classes. I asked Paul and he told me that I would have a year to use up the classes. Several months later, I went back to use up the classes and Karen told me I owed them money if I wanted to take another class, and to take it up with Groupon to get my money back. I explained to her what Paul told me, and she was extremely unfriendly and basically pushed me out of their business. What kind of business doesn't honor what they tell their customers? In terms of yoga classes, they were only okay. I went to my very first yoga class with Paul as the instructor and I had no idea what I was doing. He didn't bother to help me so I felt like I was doing it wrong the whole time. Since then, I've taken better yoga classes where the instructors actually help correct your poses or push you to improve your practice.

Nestled by the Wheaton train station (where they have a French market every Saturday), this small studio is impressive. I've been going to tribalance for some time, but found this studio that's closer to me and more my vibe. I used to practice Bikram (before the scandal) in Cali and this place has that cool Cali/city vibe. It's immaculately clean and the showers have such good water pressure. The classes are what you expect them to be, HOT, intense, and oh so rewarding. My joints and back always feel phenomenal after class. And the staff are so warm and friendly. Shout out to Becky and Agata for their continued support in my yoga journey. Pro tip: On Saturdays (while the French market is open), give yourself a half an hour extra from the time you usually leave your home as parking can be challenging, and you don't want to be late. Though I've always found parking, it did take more time.

Debbie (who turned out to be one of the owners) was the instructor. The class was great. Debbie gave tips to modify poses for more and less difficult variations which I find VERY helpful. She had a calming and pleasant demeanor. After class she said that maybe I should try traditional yoga (Next's version of bikram) since she felt it would suit me better. She was right!!!! I've been going twice a wwek to the Wheaton location and love it! Casey and Sarah are fabulous instructors. If you are thinking about returning to yoga or trying it, you will not be disappointed by Next. It is a great place!
