My family and I have been going here for years. Dr. Tsongalis-Arruda is the best and her staff was so helpful with picking out glasses.

In the interests of full disclosure, I've had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Paul Botelho personally,…read moreso when it came time for cataract surgery last year, he was the natural choice. Lest you think it's only due to personal relationship, Paul is also an instructor at Brown. Who better to perform eye surgery? That said, the overall experience was very positive, from scheduling to the exam process, then surgery, then billing question follow up. The actual surgery is done in batches, almost assembly-line styler. That may sound negative, but the staff was very attentive to all patients' personal needs and kept the process extremely organized so my mind was at ease knowing I was in good hands. Kudos to all the staff for a job well done! This office is highly recommended.

I have been looking for a good eye doctor for some time now. After visiting a few (and regretting…read moreit) I decided to give Advanced Eye Centers a call. I used to see one of the founding doctors years ago when I was young, as I've had eye issues all of my life. It was easy to schedule my appointment as I was still in their system after what had to be 8 or 12 years! They went over my insurance with me and explained what I'd be expected to pay at my first visit. I was able to get an appointment scheduled about two weeks out, but that was partly because my own work schedule is busy! I arrived about 10 minutes early and completed some simple paperwork. I was the only one in the waiting room and right on time was greeted by Dr. Michaud, an OD at the practice. My exam was thorough but quick, which was really great as I was in and out in about 30 minutes. I was able to get a pair of contacts in my new prescription to wear home and ordered a few months worth to be delivered to my house - super convenient. Check out was simple and easy. They do have an optical shop on premises which is convenient, but I chose to keep my old frames and they do charge a fee on top of the lense replacement charge if you aren't purchasing new ones through them. I elected to shop around for prices, so I didn't spend too much time in the shop. The doctor and staff were friendly and helpful and the practice was very clean. I had a great experience and will continue to visit them in the future.

He spends at least 45 min with patients & has had some for over 40 years.... that's some serious loyalty. Tech/front desk/optical lab staff are pleasant, helpful, and genuine. Prices are reasonable & easy to get booked. And if you're lucky, you'll be treated to one of Doctor Posner's infamous bad puns.... This is the best optical practice I have ever been to & am now a loyal patient for life. He's truly a hidden gem and I wish for others to find him.

She took her time, really listened, and explained everything in a way that was clear, calm, and genuinely reassuring. I never once felt rushed, and it felt more like talking to someone who truly cared than just a routine appointment. Her attention to detail and level of concern were above and beyond what I expected, and I left feeling relieved, confident, and honestly just so grateful to have found her. The staff was just as wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive the entire visit, which made the whole experience even better. I truly hope Dr. Herald can be my eye doctor for life because doctors like her are rare, and if you have any eye concerns, especially anything complex, you could not be in better hands! Can't wait to recommend her to all my family and friends. A+++

I've needed corrective lenses since I was seven years old. An odd kid, I thought that glasses were…read morea sign of distinction and couldn't wait to have a pair to call my own. Over the years, my opinions on this matter have changed completely. What I wouldn't give to have 20/20 vision and see the world with crystal clear clarity, without the help of my industrial strength contact lenses (when I take them out, the world becomes one big Monet painting). Luckily, I have the very best ophthalmologist, Iman Ali, in whom I've placed complete trust to keep my peepers healthy and bright since 2005. At that time, I traveled the 45 minutes from my apartment in Quincy, MA to see her in Fall River. Eight years later, I still travel to see her, forsaking many other qualified ophthalmologists in Providence. For my first appointment, she had her work cut out for her: I was fresh from a major car accident during which I'd suffered eye injuries that made wearing my traditional contacts extremely uncomfortable. She was patient, caring, and so confident that I could keep wearing contacts (by the time I reached my twenties vanity had sunken in, and I no longer agreed with my seven year old self that glasses were a badge of honor). She knew instinctively how to care for a young woman who'd suffered a physical and emotional trauma, and with her help, my eyes - and my overall well being - improved. Today, there's barely any remnant of the original injury, and my prescription has, against all odds, grown lighter in strength. Other fantastic details that make Dr. Ali's practice, Total Eye Care, an excellent choice include: a friendly front desk staff (who in all these years have remained intact - I mean, no discernible turnover. This speaks volumes!); a charming little coffee shop in the main lobby before you enter the office; and for those who DO still think that glasses are a true fashion statement, a huge range of high end designer eyewear, including gorgeous prescription sunglasses. If I still liked wearing specs, I'd have no shortage of luxe and lovely options. Dr. Ali is - to coin a well worn phrase - the very best in the business. She's so smart, so sophisticated, and so easy to talk to. She's Brown University educated, NYC trained (where she gained incredible experience working on patients suffering from eye issues in the wake of 9/11), and superbly suited to a practice in an area like The Riv, where folks really appreciate a doctor who remembers all sorts of things about you: little facts that might date back years. While she's thoroughly modern, hers is the type of practice that hearkens back to the physician practices of old, which were built on a strong sense of family, where all generations went to the same doctor -- and that doctor inquired after one's parents, as the pediatric patients matured into adulthood. This makes my annual eye appointment feel like coming home, in the best way!

I hadn't seen an eye doctor in years and was perfectly happy going along like that until my husband insisted it was time for me to have my eyes checked. I had visited this office years ago for an issue I was having with eye pain. The doctor I saw at the time has since left. Based on Ashley P.'s review I made an appointment with Dr. Cristina Lopes. She gave me a thorough, quick exam and recommended glasses, although she did say my prescription wouldn't be too strong and since I wasn't complaining, the choice was up to me. She did show what the difference would be with and without the corrective lenses and I opted for them. The women that I dealt with in the Optical shop were awesome. I had a very hard time making a decision and they didn't make me feel rushed in the least. When I had narrowed it down to two frames they offered to get them in other colors for me to see if that would help me make a decision. The other frames came in within a week and it was an easy decision after that. My glasses were ready in less than a week. During the exam, Dr. Lopes did have a concern with the measurement of one of my nerves and ordered another test and referred me to Dr. Keegan Johnson, also at this office. She did tell me not to worry, that everything was probably fine, but she thought it best to investigate a bit further. I had the test and saw Dr. Johnson. She was also very thorough, quick and professional. While she also reassured me that everything was most likely fine, she did order an additional test. That test also came back normal, and now they will just monitor the situation to make sure there are no changes. Everyone I have dealt with at the Center for Sight has been professional and reassuring. I would recommend them for your eye care needs.
