Got this in the mail with my tickets

This was my first time at this venue, I came here to see Lindsey Stirling tonight. First off, fantastic concert by Lindsey, but that's unsurprising... I think this is the 5th or 6th time I've seen her and actually the second time in Ohio (I live in the Detroit area), in 2019 I saw her at the Stranahan as well. To be fair we showed up around 8:15 p.m. for an 8:00 concert. I had been wanting to show up around 6:30 or 7:00 p.m. when the doors opened but we both work till 5:00 p.m. and the venue is about an hour and 15 minutes away, so by the time we had a quick dinner and got there with some breaks it was about 8:00. I had read all of the do's and don'ts of the venue so I knew that we could bring camp chairs for our general admission seats but could not bring the chair covers. Apparently they do have parking here and it's $10 but it was sold out. I saw something online about how parking might be for a fee but nowhere anywhere else did the venue mention it, so I do think they could improve on that. The parking was sold out so they also need to work on that. We ended up parking for $10 right across the street and I can't really complain because it was like a 5-minute walk, but we were lucky to even get in there. Again, I know we showed up late, but the venue itself should have more parking. There weren't a ton of places to sit - If you buy an actual seat they have benches that you sit on which I knew ahead of time, and I bought general admission just in case the concert got rained out. Lots of people were sitting in camp chairs but there were also a lot of people just standing, and it was hard to find somewhere to sit behind another group of sitting people, rather than the standing people. I ended up getting lucky and found a spot for maybe 1.5 chairs closer to the stage/reserved seating area, and that's where we sat for the concert. I feel like it's kind of an unwritten rule that if you're located in a group of camp chairs or on the benches that you should just sit, not stand; unfortunately a few people stood for the majority of the concert and even my 6'4" boyfriend was having trouble seeing. Overall I would come back here for a venue but I might buy reserved seats even though the benches did not look that comfortable. It was nice to have my own camp chair and I would definitely show up earlier next time but the parking situation was not great. One positive thing I will say is that you basically enter the venue right from the parking lot which is different than a lot of Detroit area places, with venues like Pine Knob and Meadowbrook you usually have quite a hike up and down hilly areas before you get to your seat.

Centennial Terrace is a great spot for shows. The sound system is amazing. It sounds very good. There is concrete all over so no standing on grass or mud if it rains! The lighting is soft and easy on the eyes. Centennial Terrace is located in Sylvania, OH.

Things to do along I-75 N/S to and from the Detroit area (2 of 2)…read more I had to slow down the clock and spend a little time here. The real destination was Detroit. That said, I had coffee at one place, ate a meat loaf lunch at another, pawed the car windows and did some test sitting at a few dealerships, drove around the University of Toledo campus (which I didn't know is a very good school for STEM disciplines), and put the cherry on top of these few hours by visiting the Toledo Botanical Garden. I walked the garden and took photos. It was warm and humid, so I didn't really relax and sit a spell. Like many public gardens, the Toledo Botanical Garden, out toward the western end of the city, mixes up formal garden spaces with European cues and more organic spaces, meaning they are natural in affect and display very little rigid planning. I was fairly amazed how, as you moved along, these different vistas came into view. Everything was cohesively put together and you could enjoy the different environments they've curated for you. The Toledo Botanical Garden is part of the city metro park system, which I learned from other reviews. Thus, being under this umbrella might mean that the park is free of charge ... and it is! For this aspect and for delivering more than I had expected, having pulled it from a "top things to do" list, I believe the Toledo Botanical Garden handily earns 5 stars.

My family became members of SCC when I was 6. People can tease me all they want about my hoity-toity upbringing, but I can't deny that the country club played a huge part in my childhood. Tennis lessons, pool activities, Sunday brunches, 4th of July fireworks, wedding receptions, bar mitzvahs. All of it was great fun! Growing up, I always dreamed of having a house as grand as SCC's clubhouse. I am still in awe of its classic design to this day. The pool is bustling every summer with children activities and the tennis courts are well-maintained. I'm not a golfer but according to my parents, SCC is one of the top 3 courses in Toledo. The ballroom is home of Sunday brunch and private receptions, the mixed grill on the lower level is for casual dining, and the 19th Hole is bar/lounge reserved for golfers only. All in all, the grounds are beautiful (I'll upload pictures on my next visit), and the club remains as classy as it was 20 years ago. If you are in the market for a membership, SCC is the best club in the area.
