Great hospital, great staff. My wife was in and out of surgery in no time. They have a great all that tracks the patient to keep family advised of where they are at. I just a horrible and completely unnecessary experience! Three weeks ago I schedule a heart ultrasound with them, Never received any follow-no registration, financial info. Was only given a street address to go to-no bld #, where to report to, ect. Showed up at 630 am fro 7 am appt. no one at admissions desk, no one in radiology, no answer on the number posted on radiology door. Finally found someone who could direct me to right place. Arrived and told that I had to reschedule because they had not receive pre-authorization from my insurance. Told they tried to call me yesterday, but don't leave messages. They left messages when they wanted to schedule and ONLY call I received all day was NOT from their hospital! Asked what would cost without insurance-told "It's a costly procedure. You don't want to pay for it." "How much is it ?!" "Able to pay the fee quoted. handed her a credit card and told "We can't accept payment until you are vetted by our finance dept and they don't open until 715, which will be too late to do your procedure." Have spent 2 1/2 hours on the phone trying to find out what I need to do to "get vetted". Bounced through 5 departments, disconnected four times. Got in loop with their A I system of pressing numbers and it not registering them. While I a om the phone trying to find out how to straighten this mess out- got a voice message (but finance can't do that!) to reschedule. Got caught in their A I system again! Finally got another number to call and left message 2 hours ago. No return call as yet. Then received confirmation from my insurance that they did preauthorize! read more

The emergency room staff is absolutely incredible! The staff is so accommodating and super efficient. Most professional emergency room I've been in. The team got us in and out very quickly both times we've been here. The staff even remembered who we were and took such good care of us. These have been the best two ER experience of my life. I would give negative stars if possible. My whole experience at Centennial Hospital was a nightmare. Except the tech who administered my meds. Completely unprofessional. I started by going to urgent care for the worst headache of my life. urgent care thought I needed a CT scan and labs since I had no history of migraines. I was transported via ambulance here. I was much closer to Parker Adventist so I have no idea why they brought me to Centennial "Hospital". First the emergency entrance is not marked well and they rejected the paramedics and I on a stretcher at the entrance marked emergency and made them load me up and bring me in a another ambulance entrance around the corner. They did get me a CT scan and labs asap. They were going to give me a pain med and 2 other things for the migraine and I asked them if the pain medication was ok with the Lithium I was recently put on and mentioned to them several times . They didn't seem to know and had to "look it up" with their "sources". I never saw a doctor. Only a PA and the nurse was very rude. What they gave me made me fall asleep and they woke me up to register with a robot. I was just too drowsy. Then they woke me up again and said I was discharged and find a ride home. So i ordered an Uber. The uber arrived but they hadn't taken my IV out yet and they said they would till I registered and brought the stupid robot back that glitched out. Finally i had enough and still had the damn migraine so I just walked out and they freaked out saying it's illegal for me to leave with the IV. They took the IV out and practically threw the discharge paperwork at me and pushed me out the exit to the poor uber driver who had to put up with me crying and saying I can't believe this just happened to me all the way home. I gave them the middle finger then and I am giving it to them now. read more

The signage to the bathrooms point you in wrong directions and ways to the restroom ate not clear. Many people with medical issues need quick access to restrooms. My mother ended up having an asthma attack trying to find a restroom because their sign pointed right instead of left. Then they only have one stall for each gender. Not only horrible customer service but horrible human service. I'd give them negative 5 stars if I could. read more

Today, I received a knee replacement at Centennial Hospital. Originally the surgery was scheduled for 11 o'clock in the morning and I was to be there at 5:30 for all the necessary prep work. Arriving on time I was registered and settled into preop by 6 o'clock. A few short interviews with anesthesiologists and doctors and nurses went about 45 minutes. Feeling comfortable with the staff and care team I sat back in my orange gown, well the anesthesiologist doctor gave me an injection which I figure is equivalent to David Copperfield hypnotizing me. The next thing I remember is I am in recovery and the job is done. I was ushered in my gurney to a room on the second floor where my nurse, Lyndsay greeted me and saw to it that my stay was going to be as informative and pain-free as possible. *** Lyndsay should be cloned! Several people are part of my care team, which also includes the cafeteria and they're great meals. Yes Hopital food is good here. I certainly want to recognize Lyndsay's due diligence in helping me understand the things that I need for a speedy recovery as well as attending to this patient's whiny attitude. Friendly, extremely professional, knowledgeable, prompt on the call button and able to get answers to questions (which perplex a person with a new knee...), I'm sure are qualities that every nurse is supposed to have, but this one has 20 fold! I want to publicly give a Nurses Award and a great thank you to Lyndsay, for helping me in the beginning of my recovery and my new knee which of course is life-changing. Others that were part of the team that are bringing me to good health are, of course Lyndsay, Derick, Melanie, Steph, Belinda, and Doctors Stull & DelaGarza. Both incidents were 5 stars and I would give more stars if it were possible. From the moment I arrived at reception both times to the end, I was treated with caring respect. Dr. Mark Joseph Hinton, the nurses and technician, Zach Metallo, could not do enough to help my situation. I couldn't have asked for more of ANYTHING. They were right there for me. I came in by ambulance due to extreme sharp lower back pain that caused me to not be able to walk. doctor christopher tems did absolutely ZERO testing. no CT scan, no MRI. he said he wasn't able to by law to give me an MRI unless he suspected a spinal compression and he knew for certain it wasn't. he discharged me a couple hours later with me still not being able to walk. my mom had to get a wheelchair and wheel me out. i went to an urgent care the next day because the pain wasn't getting any better after the meds he prescribed me. they were able to refer me to an outpatient MRI so i can see what's going on in my back. the urgent care was shocked that christopher tems didn't run any tests on me. not professional what so ever. i will always give this hospital a bad review because of this experience. read more

As several others have stated, avoid seeking emergency care here at all costs. I recently had a brief ER visit here (under four hours) for a common, treatable condition and required only some lab tests, IV antibiotics, and fluids. I was never admitted to the hospital or given any kind of diagnostic tests. The hospital bill from Medical Center of Aurora (parent company) is $10,500. The average cost of an ER visit for this particular condition in America is estimated at $2,500. This bill is not only shocking, it is unethical. I have contacted their billing department, who have been completely unwilling to help so far and I filed a complaint with my medical insurance provider. When I contacted billing, I was told that "they don't have a complaint escalation process because they don't negotiate their prices." Crazy. On top of all that, the care I received there was cold and without concern. I never even received a phone call to give me the results when my lab results came in. The worst. read more

Whatever you do, if you have been a victim of assault, DO NOT GO to this ER. I had been to this ER the previous year for other reasons, and the care was decent. This time, I returned two weeks after being assaulted in a doctor's office, with the headaches, blurry vision, and jaw pain not subsiding since I was hurt. My provider told me to go to the ER to get checked out. I got stuck with Dr. Mary Sprinkel, a woman who knows little but professes to know a lot. With such hubris dictating ability, it is no wonder that as a victim of physical assault that caused me injury and pain, she willfully ignored the incident I had reported (there's a police report, too). She concluded, it must my TMJ acting up, and even had the audacity to print out TMJ exercises (that I've already been doing for well over a decade!). I'm not sure where Dr. Sprinkel attended medical school, but they should be embarrassed by this ignorant and arrogant graduate who did me (and every other assault victim) such a grave disservice. Now, after "being seen" by Dr. Sprinkel, I can conclude that she aggravated me to the point that I am now back to clenching my jaw, which hasn't been an issue in 6 months, but thanks to Dr. Sprinkel's inability to listen to the 51 year old patient who's been dealing with disabilities since birth, the problem that wasn't a problem that the Dr. insisted was the problem is now part of the problem. Nobody goes to an ER to get checked out only so they can be further harmed, but that is exactly what happened. Now I get to wait for the added insult to injury with the forthcoming bills--they took 2 more X-rays than they should have because the 2 techs were inept. I never saw the X-rays, so nobody went over them with me, as I would have expected. As somebody who usually refuses X-rays, after a lifetime of X-rays, I'm disgusted that an ER has a doctor and X-ray techs who are incapable of performing their jobs in a reasonable manner. I went to Centennial Medical Plaza on Memorial Day for abdominal pain that had left me unable to eat or drink anything for the previous three days. I was vomiting and having terrible spasms. I was even crying from the pain. We went to Centennial Medical Plaza, where the nurses were great, especially Lois. Very helpful and caring. But the doctor seemed uncaring and unhelpful. I am allergic to chemicals and antibiotics. I wouldn't allow the contrast dye to be injected prior to the cat scan because it's very toxic. I also wouldn't allow the antibiotics because I am allergic to so many of them. I didn't want to die seeking help for my issues! The Dr. seemed annoyed with me and wouldn't give me anything for pain, nausea or anything else. I did receive two bags of IV fluids. I was sent home with a script. All of this took 3 hours. The radiologist wrote on my permanent medical records form that "stranding in anterior abdominal wall, possibly related to subcutaneous injections". The radiologist must think I'm a drug addict whose been injecting myself in my abdominal area. This is all without ever examining my abdominal skin which shows no sign of injections. I had the MD"s at UC Health ER verify that by actually examining me. What a concept! What an insult! I don't use illicit drugs. I just wanted something for pain so I could stop crying, stop vomiting, maybe eat or drink something and to be more comfortable. The pain wears me out and keeps me from having a life. Please don't ever, ever, ever go to this place. Haven't received a bill from there yet, so I can't address that. The next day I went to the ER at UC Medical Center at Anschutz Center in Aurora (the old Fitzsimmons area). Excellent care received at their very busy ER department. They took care of the pain, nausea and even gave me prescriptions for follow up. They found a gastric ulcer by x-ray and gave me a script for a liquid medication that is actually helping. I would recommend going there anytime a decent and competent ER is needed. I will NEVER go back to Centennial Medical Plaza for anything. read more

Please don't ever go here unless you are deathly injured and have no other options. The minimum charge for service is over $2,100. On May 8, I took my 10 month old daughter to Centennial Medical Plaza after she'd fallen and hit her head. After a nurse took her vitals for approximately 10 minutes, Dr. Richard Saiz examined her for approximately 15 minutes, and concluded that the fall did not cause any trauma to her head, and she could be discharged. We left within 45 minutes of arriving, and no other services were provided. I received a facility bill for $2,130.92, in addition to a $283.00 physician bill that denotes a "moderate" level billing code. So, $2,413.92 in total. As a point of reference, Healthcare Bluebook suggests $813 for an ER visit for a minor problem ( https://www.healthcarebluebook.com/page_ProcedureDetails.aspx?dataset=md&id=238&g=Emergency+Room+Visit+-+Minor+Problem&directsearch=true ), which is much more reasonable. On June 15th I called the billing department (866 475 8266) and confirmed that both bills were billed at a moderate / level 3. They said that the doctor determines the billing code, and that while some visits at their facility could be billed at a lower code, our visit was a level 3 because it was a head injury. I pointed out that her head was merely bruised, and only required 15 minutes of the doctor's time to conclude she was okay, and asked for an example of a visit that would require less services (and thus a lower code) than those we were provided. I did not receive a satisfactory answer. I then called Shelly Abramson since her number (303 695 2977) was listed by Hannah B. in another Yelp review. She was not able to answer my questions, but said she would have Sarah Chambers, in charge of ER billing, call me. I never heard back from Sarah Chambers, so I left a follow-up voicemail for Shelly Abramson on June 20th. On June 22 I finally heard from a Kit Lowks (sp) at 303 873 5295. He said, in contrast to the billing department, that regardless of what you come to their facility for, you will at a minimum be billed at level 3, and pay the base/flat rate of about $2,100. I asked if they would tell someone coming to their facility that their minimum charge is $2,100. He did not give a definitive answer, and maintained that $2,100 was an ethical charge for the services provided to us. Since receiving this bill, I've done some research and read a lot of litigation between insurance companies and free standing ERs like this, because of wrongfully submitted or up-coded facility fees, which is illegal. To me it sounds like these people are pulling the same stunt. Like others here, people in my family have had surgeries, requiring overnight stays in actual hospitals, that were comparable in cost to this 45 minute visit. They advertise all up and down Arapahoe Rd. as though they are an asset to the community, but they are taking advantage of the community. read more

Avoid at all costs! (pun fully intended). Went there for dizziness due to a simple ear infection (only because of urging of insurer, and location is in the insurer's network). Long story short: Paid $135 copay upon admission. There less than an hour, received a simple saline IV with antibiotic and sedative included. Sent home with prescription. That's it. The care was fine, but now comes the bill in the mail from Medical Center of Aurora (which owns Centennial Medical Plaza). My jaw hit the floor... Over $7,600, of which the insurer apparently paid over $2,700 and was credited with a "discount" of a little over $1,500, leaving me with a balance of more than $3,200 that they somehow have the gall to believe I owe them. They're literally out of their minds. I've seen surgeries that cost less out of pocket than that. read more

I was in the ER twice this week. I have had a horrible cough and a fever. I had a negative covid test prior to coming in. When I went in they tested me for covid again and diagnosed me with bronchitis that could be due to the possible covid virus. They wrote me a few scripts for medications, took an X-ray of my chest and gave me fluids. I was surprised that there was little done to relieve my horrible cough, such as being put on a nebulizer. The dr was also not the friendliest. As a few days went on and taking the medication nothing seemed to be helping. My second covid test came back negative. I had to go back two days later in worse condition. They tested me for covid AGAIN and finally decided to help my cough by putting me on a nebulizer and I had to get a CT Scan. The covid test came back negative but I was positive for the flu. Why the hell would I not be tested for that when I first came in? Everyone is so obsessed with covid that they are forgetting every other virus out there. They were convinced that all of my negative tests were all false when really it was the flu. They told me the medication I was taking for four days was a waste and was not even helping me. So I wasted my money on those meds and now I am going to have an OUTSTANDING bill because I had to go back due to the drs who are convinced that EVERYTHING is covid related when ITS NOT. I get that covid is an issue, but you people are misdiagnosing and getting lost in the world of covid, which can cause even more damage to sick people. Test for other viruses that aren't JUST covid. Just because a test is negative DOES NOT MEAN IT IS FALSE. On top of all of this, the dr. Katie Harrer is extremely rude and unapproachable. She made me feel like I was a burden. That is a whole other story that I will save for the Patient Advocate Center. I will go to Sky Ridge the next time I need help. read more

They were so compassionate and took all of the time needed with my daughter and I to make sure she was safe and healthy. The caliber of physicians and nurses at the ER is absolutely outstanding. We went to the ER on 6/16/2020 around 9:30 for my daughter who had severe stomach pain. After an hour, the ER doctor on duty sent in staff dressed in Covid protection to give her a test. NO concern over the reason we showed up for severe abdominal pain. Never once check for appendicitis or even touched her. It was embarrassing for the attending nurse who saw that the doctor had no concern for her abdominal pain. She had no fever just severe stomach pain. Doctor insisted on giving her a Covid test and said sometimes covid causes stomach pain. We left to find other treatment. read more

Brought my family to the ER for a foot injury. Nancy at the front desk was awesome. Chelsea RN was alright and so is Dr. Sandler was ok. But Gary RN was rude and very unprofessional and has no bedside manners at all. Today is the 22nd of August, over 3 weeks after our visit to this ER. So far no phone calls as promised by the Customer Service. We got our ER bill and it was almost $5000.00 for a simple skin laceration of the the toe. This is unbelievable. We also have bills from the ER Doctor and the Radiologist. What a nightmare. The price is way above the national average for an ER visit. Pls if you have a choice, don't go to this ER unless you are rich and willing to pay big bucks for a mediocre patient care. read more

Brought someone in for medical treatment and the ER nurses couldn't inject a needle properly in one are so they Bbb had another nurse tried the other arm and she did the same thing and missed too. Both her arena were badly bruised the next day as a result. Not sure what training they got previously but this has never happened to her and it's a disservice and major concern they can't properly inject needles. They didn't make it. Big deal after she was crying as a result and no apology either. read more

We stopped in during June of 2021 for some stitches for my son; let me say I very much liked the attending physician. The front office checked us in, took our insurance card, took care of my son, then we waited. They had a new system using a surface or iPad type produce for check out. We waited probably 2 hours for the system to check us out. It never atually checked us out so the medical center sent us home. I called the next day to make sure we had been checked out properly and they had all the necessary information; I was assured everything was fine. We had met our deductable so we did not pay for services. I just recieved a letter from a collection agency. I never received a bill from the seperate doctor's office. Upon calling the doctor's office they informed me when the hospital checked us in, they did not add in the complete address, misspelled the street name and failed to include our insurance inforamtion. So, we never recieved the bill from the seperate doctor's office thus we never paid (should have been covered by insurance anyway) and now the doctor's office is pulling our account from collections. I have to call back in 2 weeks to see where we are in the process. This continues to be a time consuming frustration that never should have happened! ARG!!! read more

They actually charge over $3000 per hour for a Bed...just while waiting to see a doctor....total rip off...I would also recommend not using insurance as the discount for the uninsured is mind blowing! Unfortunately, I took my 19 month old in with a fractured wrist. The doctors, nurses, techs and staff could not have been more caring to me and my daughter. They took care of us right away, absolutely no wait. The X-Ray techs came into our room to take her X-Ray. And the doctor went out of her way to make sure a pediatric radiologist read the results and then called multiple pediatric orthopedists to make sure we could be seen right away. I just want everyone to think twice about going here. Do you really need emergency care or just urgent care? Don't get confused like me! I want to say that the doctors are fine, but once you walk in here, you're already on the line for nearly $2,000. Yes, just for checking into this emergency room, you'll pay $2,000. Most of us won't know this until the bill comes in the mail week's later, but it's coming. Unless you have amazing insurance, it won't be covered. Most of us have a deductible to meet - and you'll be paying for this one for a long while. I went there in 2015 with stomach pain. It was not an emergency but my doctor told me to go there vs. to her offices (a big regret in hindsight!). I so wish I would have just went to urgent care and not been confused - oh man did I make a COSTLY mistake! If you ask about fees upon check in, you'll be told "not to worry" and "insurance will likely cover this" like I was - but you won't be handed any sort of fee list. While your care will be fine, and the doctor I saw was pleasant and professional, all I did was meet with the doctor for about 10 minutes, pee in a cup, and wait for results. After a total of 1.25 hours of time, NO exam, and simple visit, I was sent on my way. I paid the $150 copay and thought that was the end of it. Then I get a bill for about $2400 in the mail. It does not meet my deductible so I'm responsible to pay it. I asked for an itemized bill thinking this could not be right - no way! I asked FOUR times, and finally got an itemized bill. Here's how it breaks down: Pee analysis: $391.52 Pregnant test: $249.60 Emergency Dept Check in: $1,852.97 I'm getting other bills from other doctors and service providers too. It's outrageous! I am disputing these charges. I feel I should pay a FAIR fee for the services rendered. No one should be gouged like this. It's a disturbing reality in the state of our current healthcare system. Buyer beware when coming to a pop-up emergency room. They are not billed like normal doctors or urgent care. They are definitely huge contributors to what is wrong with our healthcare and insurance system today. They are gouging us (or our insurance companies). They will not disclose any fees to you upfront even if you ask - but they should be able to tell you at least the "check in" fee because they do know that (it's $1852.97 btw). I was so stressed about what this was going to cost me, but was told not to worry. Now I'm freaking out by what I have to pay. In America you can't buy food without calorie, salt and pricing disclosures, but apparently you can get medical care without knowing a speck about what it's going to cost until it's too late. I hope this is a wake up call for people to ask more questions and demand pricing disclosures upfront before services are rendered. Again, the doctors are courteous and professional. I cannot dispute the care - it was just fine and I'm certain is great in a true emergency. Just don't go here unless you're in a true crisis like a heart attack or your arm is hanging off. I have learned my lesson and am hopeful the company will work with me to lessen my bill. If they do, I will update this review and let you all know! read more

this place is a scam. i went in for a simple visit for gout. when i asked how much the visit would cost, they told me only around $500. there was no surgery, no procedure. they gave me ibuprofin, shot of pain killer, and a prescription. they charged me over $4,000 for the visit. they will lie to you and then bill your insurance provider. depending on your deductible, you are then left with a huge bill. beware of places like these. this is how they make their money. read more

I had to make an ER visit about a week ago and everyone here was so helpful!! I was greeted and taken care of immediately as I walked through the door. Adam, a paramedic helped me to a room and took great care of me. I waited a little while before meeting a nurse and the doctor (Dr. Douglas) who would be giving me stitches. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The only gripe I have is the amount of time I had to wait after being put in a room. But other than the wait, I have no complaints! read more

I have no complains with the medical staffs there. But the bill is incredible. My wife has an insurance from Blue Cross Blue Shield. We got a $3k bill for pulling a broken nail. The total service time is about 5 minutes. But we waited there for almost 2 hours with a bleeding nail. I gave them the insurance card. They could not find which blue cross blue shield it is. Then they billed us for $500 at first. Then the bill became $1500. Now we got a $3000 bill. I am letting the insurance folks to deal with this kind of practice. read more

I had my other wrist done, the exact same procedure, same doctor, however the Medical Center of Aurora charged me $1420 as a copayment, but my issue lies in the fact that prior to my procedure at the medical Center of Aurora, I asked them at the time of the procedure how much my copayment would be and they told me $431, A few weeks later I received a bill for an additional $990. As an ordinary person just walking through the front door of a facility like this you have no idea what you are going to be charged, I should've asked questions, although I didn't feel like I had to since they had told me an amount of $431. This may sound like small potatoes to a medical facility but to the average working father like me, with two children and life's other obstacles, this is a huge hit, very unethical. When I asked the Cherry Creek medical center how much my copayment would be, they told me the amount and that was the amount I was billed, bravo. I should add, the staff was professional and very friendly, I have no quarrel with the people at this facility, I just feel that I was unfairly and unethically charged for these services. read more

This is the review for their ER only! First of all, I got no complaints with the medical staff - RNs and the Doc that was taking care of me. I ended up there during not the best time - the Doc had several more patients with more severe problems and he had to triage and multitask. RNs, however, were pretty attentive and made my wait very comfortable. When he got to me, he was very efficient and I'm fully satisfied with the quality of care. Front desk staff, however, is a totally different story. First of all, when I came in the front desk was empty with note to call on the phone installed there to get somebody paged. After the first call, whoever was on the other line said that somebody will be there in no time. About a minute late, I called again and asked them to hurry up - same response: "Somebody is on the way"... After yet another minute, I called again and gotten very close to actually yell at the "voice on the other side" and that kind of worked - I've heard an announcement on the loudspeaker that somebody needs to get to the front desk. Soon after that a very unhappily looking woman waltzed in from somewhere behind. For an ER, that's unacceptable! The check in was then pretty quick if only somewhat rude after that. On the check out, we stopped by the window to see if there was anything we need to sign, and were informed by the same receptionist that we owe them a $200 deposit. She wasn't quite able to explain where that number came from and invented some story about our insurance covering 80% - not sure how she came up with that information. When I asked her to explain the origin of the deposit idea, she waved at me saying, and I'm quoting: "If you don't want to pay, don't pay" and turned around without saying another word. Not sure if HealthOne does any training for the front desk staff, but if they do, that lady clearly missed it. Next working day, I got a call from somebody inquiring how I'm doing and if I was satisfied with the level of care. I plainly said that I was happy with the medical care, but the reception experience was very negative and unprofessional. Her answer, and, once again, I'm quoting: "Well, this is their job. I'm glad you're doing ok". She then just hung up. Looks like there were at least two people that missed the training... I'm not expecting any more calls and I sure hope don't go there again, for obvious reasons, but I figured I'd leave this feedback for others to be aware of what they could encounter. Granted, front desk's customer service skills (or lack thereof) is far from the most important reasons for picking an ER, but this makes a bad reflection on great medical staff working there. read more

Negligent care, we are filing a complaint against this facility. Stay away, they are horrible. I would give negative stars if I could.
