The staff members were all quite friendly and I just had an overall enjoyable experience at this Mobil. 10/10 good stop.

Plus, with the collegiates having this location and the campus Camp Randall location it's actually stress less to just give the kids a gift card and bam... they can feed themselves. Spotless during the busy day as well as seemingly every visit, it speaks well of the each of the people I encounter. Late nights, after 10-12 pm, I see Ed, a retired man who is always nice to visit with when it's more laid back and I'm not just racing thru for a coffee. It's during one of the recent late night visits that I was particularly hungry that I paused along the large open cooler right in the path from the entrance to everything within. Stopping and seeing some potential options that actually were incredibly delicious meals. Never in my imagination had I considered buying meatloaf at a gas station. Decades ago getting a midnight microwave burrito was a thing I regrettably admit. Everyone is guilty of this or worse. Following the world lockdown it's been a real bummer not having a Denny's or similar 24hr diner to grab a after hours burger etc. So in short I bought the mashed potatoes and meatloaf meal and it was incredibly good! This last week I've began seeing commercials about this new product. This is what redirected my input. Sure the sponsored adverts will say anything. Doesn't mean anything. Had I seen the commercial first, I seriously don't believe I'd have taken the cue and purchased one. But seeing it, looking at the contents, reading the ingredients gave indication that it wasn't typical frozen TV dinner fare. Twice, I've enjoyed the meatloaf. I won't say it's better than mine, because mine kicks butt, and I'm rarely going to admit a fail in my kitchen. I don't serve the failed attempts at home, though my wife is sadly a test subject occasionally suffering something I know sucked. She's a good sport. I know when it's good as well as terrible regardless of her transparent lies. lol. The Beef Stroganoff too is very nice. I won't delve into another long worded thing. It's very good and as I write, I'm thinking I'll be trying a few of the other offerings in the weeks to come. $8 approx per. Not unrealistic. Less costly than Denny's, and many locations I imagine are also open at late hours. 4 stars ONLY because 5 wouldn't appear legit. No bribes, incentives or threats to promote this place. I doubt BP or any of the related C-stores around will follow this trend, and in truth, none I've ever visited have ever held standards to KT's level. In that, I very much endorse KT overall as the one 5 star C-store nearly universally.

The station sits on the corner of a fairly busy intersection, so be careful when coming in or out. They were out of several things in the cooler section, which was slightly annoying, but not the end of the world. The interior and exterior were fairly clean, but worn. Based off of what I saw while in town, gas here seemed to be a few cents higher on average than other gas stations. Overall, standard convenience store. It served its purpose and when needed, I am sure I would be fine to swing back through.

I made a loop around the store that started with produce, then into a very small bakery area and the hot bar/deli area, into the cold section and shelves, and finally through the frozen section. There are a lot of organic, natural, and alternative-diet food items and a wider array of veggie products than you'll encounter at a regular grocery store. I had hoped to find graham flour here, but they didn't carry it in either their bulk flours up front, nor in the baking aisle. One thing that stuck out to me is that prices are all over the place. Some things are much cheaper than you'll find them in typical grocery stores, while others are sticker-shock expensive. For example, Field Roast veggie sausages were around $5, while they go for closer to $7 at most other places around Madison. On the flip side, there was a rising crust pizza for I think $6 that I just picked up for $3.50 at another store. One thing I will say is that the vibe of the Co-op is different from any other grocer I've been to, in that it seemed like hangout spot. Lots of people were shopping in pairs with friends and chit-chatting away with each other and the staff. It's definitely got more of a community/small-town corner shop feel in that way. I have a gift card for the Co-op burning a hole in my wallet, so I'll have to pop back through again when I have more time to browse and don't have specific items in mind.
