Yes, a new location doesn't mean much to the public because it's the same old hot mass as you would expect from any Ross store out there. Nevertheless, it's a fun store to poke around. I had a gift card given to me by my in-laws last Christmas. Since hubby and I were nearby, we stopped in. I found a few cool things from the Betsey Johnson home collection. I upgraded our bedsheets and got myself a BJ hot pick skull throw. On a Tuesday evening after the Columbus Day, the store was relatively quiet. I do frequently purchase these following items from a national chain discount store: - "Skull Candy" earphones - Licensed merchandise (i.e. Tweety, Hello Kitty, Betty Boop, NFL, MLB, NCAA sports teams that I can't find at a locally-owned knickknack store) - canvas art I can't live without - travel neck pillows/ pillows in general - IMPULSE BUYS Ross is Ross. Their checkout process is always chaotic. Although they have, so-called "return policy," it's not worth your time if you're returning an item, or items, less than $20. In other words, purchase something that you certainly will like and keep.

Before I walked into this retailer, I assumed this was an outlet of "Ross Dress for Less" since both stores are under the same ownership. Well, "DD's" had the stuff that Ross didn't sell and W*l-ma*t's overstock. In other words, it wasn't too far from my original guess. Hubby and I came in on a Saturday evening. The entire store was quite picked over. There wasn't much to tickle my fancy. The two (2) stars were given to the low price on plastic shower liner, $2.99. I will remember that whenever I need a replacement in the future. Hubby and I did a quick dash through the Place and then drove to the nearby Ross. I recommend checking out the Ross in the adjacent shopping plaza. It's way more interesting, I promise. I'm really not sure if I will stop by "DD's" in the Brickyard location again. So when my husband and I first moved to our new apartment, we needed new living room furniture and new bedroom sets for us and for our daughter. Moe was the one who helped us the entire time. He was very helpful in helping us find what we were looking for and worked with us on the pricing. Since we decided to pay in cash rather than credit, he was able to give us a great discount on a living room set, 2 bedroom sets that included bed frames, dressers, and mattresses. He was even able to match an offer that we received from another furniture company and that's why we chose to go with Furniture & Beyond. So 5 stars for service at this point. So while researching mattresses, I came across something that I was not aware of. REFURBISHED MATTRESSES. For those of you not aware, please Google the term now. In short, it is used mattresses that companies can pick up anywhere from alleys, to who knows where else. Companies then replace the fabric on the mattress, but most of the time they don't disinfect the insides. This could lead to nasty things living inside such as bedbugs! So I specifically asked Moe if they sell these at their store since we were getting such a good rate. I also told him refurbished mattresses is something that I do NOT want. He point blank told me they don't sell them. Ok fine so we sealed the deal. The furniture took about a week to get delivered and everything was fine. They assembled the furniture for me and I was happy. I was responsible for discarding all the giant boxes that the furniture came in, but I guess that wasn't a big deal. Fast forward to a few days later and my daughter is screaming that she found a bug in her room. I'm coming to her rescue as we just moved and i was curious as to what bug could be in her room?! Lo and behold much to my surprise, disgust, and anger, it was a damn bedbug crawling on her floor! I turn into a mad woman and remove all the sheets, turn he mattress upside down and what do I find? I find a yellow tag that has been half ripped off on my supposedly BRAND NEW mattress and I look at it and it reads "refurbished". By state law, there HAS to be a yellow tag on all refurbished mattresses. So I was lied to this whole time. So I sic my husband on Moe. Lol. To make a long story short, Moe informed us that the mattress dealer that he goes with has been one that they've been going to for years and never found anything wrong with their products. He said he thought I knew they were refurbished since we were getting such a great deal on them. Uh no. So Moe agreed for us to get a newer, Ashley mattress for only $100 more and he agreed to deliver it for free and take the nasty refurbished mattress back. So the moral of the story is, don't lie to me. I was so pissed that I would have given them 1 star based off of the bed bug and the USED mattress alone but Moe did save face and was able to accomodate us, and rightfully so! So there's your 3 stars.

The showroom has a good amount of items to consider but know that there are also catalogs with tons of other choices if you don't see what you want. Most items get ordered from Poland so be prepared to wait 8-12 weeks in some cases. There are lots of different levels of quality and price points - that said, I thought prices were pretty reasonable. One thing I especially liked is that their items do not contain added chemical flame retardants - it's not required in Europe and the chemical off gassing is bad for you (trust me on this one, I work in the industry). Anyway, the staff here is super nice and not pushy at all. If you have a minute, let them explain/show you features that night not be apparent at first glance. A lot of items have hidden storage, sleepers or adjust in ways that typical American furniture doesn't. We're considering a bedroom set up from them and I seriously covet one if the rugs they have.
