Replace the first floor baseboard with high output baseboard. Peter measured the job up and returned with Christian another day to complete the work. I admit I was impressed with the concern that was paid to how each peice was installed. A level and tape measure was used on each peice of baseboard to insure that when completed the entire run was the same height and on the same plain. Each cover was trimmed if needed so it fit together properly. When they were done they cleaned up after themselves and even helped me put my things back, which they didn't have to do. I could say I'm happy with the work they did and leave it there. The truth is I'm really impressed with the work did, it came out more beautiful than I hoped. They showed more attention to detail than they had to, and the price was very competitive. Its been 7 years and Pete is still doing really prideful work. I signed a maintenance agreement with Maccarone Plumbing in Glen Cove in 2025 for my Generac…read moregenerator. In the time since, there were five separate power outages where the generator was needed to power the house -- and it failed to start or transfer power every single time. After each event, I contacted Maccarone; they ordered parts, made adjustments, and performed service, but the generator still didn't work reliably. I eventually switched to a different company I found directly through the official Generac dealer locator. I learned they specialize as electricians, which made a big difference. The customer support representative handling generator issues was consistently unknowledgeable and showed little interest in resolving the ongoing problems. After using them for years without any payment issues, I also requested a plumbing estimate and was asked for a deposit before they would even come out -- surprising given our established relationship. I would not recommend Maccarone for Generac generator maintenance. For anyone with a standby generator, I strongly suggest going with a licensed electrician or an authorized Generac dealer for better reliability and care. Two plumbers arrived and installed the items in an hour for $353, the agreed price. They have been in my house several times over the past several years for various jobs. In December of 2024, I hired Maccarone Plumbing to perform the exact same job in another bathroom. The estimate was $295 an hour for the one-hour job. I was shocked when only one plumber arrived at 8.15am. I was even more shocked when a "licensed" plumber could not install a drain. He started installing the drain at 10am. After damaging the 2 drains that I provided, he left my house to pick up supplies that were not in his truck. Imagine how unprepared a plumber is if he does not have a 1 1/2" drain in his truck for a job to install a drain. Four hours later, he gave me a bill for $1,500. After an argument, the amount was slightly reduced when he gave me the smaller half day labor rate. I was never given any explanation for the $200 of parts he allegedly installed. I was told, "They don't do that". I called the person who gave me the $295 estimate and he was condescending to me and inflexible on the price. I told him to expect a poor review on Yelp and he did not care. Obviously, they will never be in my house again.
