If I could leave him no stars I would. Not nice to speak ill of the dead, but I have to vent somewhere. In 2025, we hired David Sheehan to do exterior repairs on 5 porches our rental property house, and he had not finished when we gave him a large deposit, for another project, he said he needed money to buy materials for us. That was the last we saw of him. Chased him thru the legal system, then he had the nerve to up and die before we could face him in court. The case is still pending and it's up to our lawyer now. Oh, and after he skipped in the wind, a different contractor we hired told us Sheehan's work was crap. read more

David was not professional or respectful in any manner. I had decided not to hire him because of financial reasons. I had a budget and he was charging what I could not afford. I ended telling him that I went with a different contractor and that I appreciate him reaching out. He continued to text message me saying " I'm ok with it because I wasn't really going to make any money because I would've had to go out of my way to come measure them and then come install them and also take away the debris. I'm just trying to get my name known in New Hampshire for being the guy to call." then he continued with " I just feel bad for you because I would've taken care of you" this is unacceptable and you don't treat potential customers like this. read more

[Original review 2 May 2024] This man, David Sheehan, is a troubled person. I strongly recommend not hiring him. He did a good job with my cabinet remodel to fit my new stove. But a day or two after he finished, he called me to demand that I leave an online review for him. I told him I would review him later once the city did the required inspection, because until then, I don't know how good a job he did. He was disappointed by this and hounded me several more times. This got me thinking that this person isn't quite right. I googled him, including searching the county court records, and found out that there have been numerous court cases and small claims against him. He has both filed claims against people who hired him, and people have filed claims against him. Do you really want to do business with someone who has a rather lengthy court history with his clients? He also manipulates the reviews that people leave for him, such as going after anyone who gives him a negative review and threatening them. He is absolutely obsesses with bad reviews despite their truthfulness. I left a bad review a few years ago and he called me at work on an unknown number and demanded I take down my review. I was genuinely intimidated at the time, so I complied. But this time I will not comply. This review stays up. Please stay away from this man and don't let him into your house. By the way, the inspection was fine and the work was good. But this person scares me. [Update 4 May 2024] Other than the public reply this man (or his supposed brother) left me, here samples of some messages the business left me on private messages: "People don't believe your ranting and raving bull___t because they know the truth. So, since 2022, everything has been going well, and as you can see, your last review was taken down!! Is your kitchen and house still dumpy and s___ty! Or have you updated it yet!!?? Is your wife still hiding on the second floor and are you guys still working for [my employer]?" "Geeks like you don't deserve to have good contractors like Celtic Home Improvement, do your nasty disgusting work when you should've just done a new kitchen. Karma is a b___h you disgusting thing of a human being!!! The job was done and that's when people write a review. My attorneys will be in touch and sue you for your house." "I'll tell you what !! I have at least a dozen friends that I grew up with here in Lynn and played hockey with throughout the years and went to school with from the first grade straight through high school that are police officers !! My brother is a lawyer, and I have a lot of people who are in high places employment for the city of Lynn that will twist any story around that I ask them to so it looks like you started something that you can't finish you fucking geek mother f____ng a____le! You will be served with papers by next Monday or Tuesday." Not one my messages and conversations I've had with him has insulted him or contained an expletive. Everything I've said here and to him is 100% true. [Update 1 June 2024] No lawyer has contacted me and I have not heard further from this company, from David Sheehan, or from his brother. So these threats were just a whole bunch of bluster to intimidate me. Keep in mind that if you do business with this company and you are dissatisfied with their work or with their behavior towards you, as I was, you may be treated like this. You may instead deal with a lawsuit, as Celtic Home Improvement has a long court history. We added a front door to our sun porch. David was the 3rd person I contacted. We had a budget and he was able to get the door we wanted and complete the job within a few days. The door looks good and we are happy with the work Dave did. He was able to reuse our wood from the existing door and added insulation. read more

David helped us rehabilitate our detached garage, installing a new window and repairing the leaky roof. He and his assistant were very knowledgeable and friendly, the repairs were done in a timely manner, and David kept us updated with photos as we were on vacation during some of the work. Would definitely work with Celtic again! read more

I was reaching out to several contractors about replacing the windows in my Condo. The big windows (see pictures) turned out to be a pretty complicated job because they are big, unusual shapes and it is a 19th century building with old brickwork. It was very difficult to find someone willing to take it on, David at Celtic was up for it and the estimate was significantly less than the others will in to do it. He ordered the windows from Harvey windows, and the production took longer than expected, but he communicative all along the way. Once the job started, he sent me pics every few days to show progress. He and his crew got the windows in and did a very nice job rebuilding the frames and sills. I'm very happy with how it all came out. Celtic doesn't normally do painting, but David said they would paint for a job they were already doing ... about 1/2 way through I decided to have them paint the interior. The price was reasonable and I was happy with the job they did! I think the pics say it all. read more

First, I posted a 1-star review of this business several months ago the owner of the business has continually harassed me in an effort to get me to remove my review. I've since gone to court to get a harassment prevention order against him. I also have a pending small claims case against him. He is also claiming that I owe him money (even though I paid him in full) for things that I have in writing that I do not owe him money for. He cost me $12,000 and countless hours preparing for multiple court cases (harassment and small claims). I hired Celtic Home Improvement to replace my backyard fence. Less than a week after it was installed, an entire portion of the fence blew apart. Within 2 months, the entire fence needed to be replaced. From what the new contractor I hired told me, the posts were not properly installed. He said some of the posts had no cement properly securing them in the ground and the ones that did didn't have enough cement, in addition, none of the posts were deep enough in the ground. My new contractor said he needed special equipment in order to properly dig the holes. All Celtic Home Improvement used was a shovel. My opinion is that this company doesn't actually know much about how to do proper contracting work. I've spoken with quite a few dissatisfied customers. Before hiring him, I suggest you go to the Lynn District Court website and lookup just how many small claims cases both the business name and business owner name (David Sheehan) have gone through. I wish someone had given me that piece of information. I also believe that most of the glowing 5 star reviews he has are either his friends or fake profiles he's created. read more

DO NOT HIRE. COMPLETE and TOTAL DISSAPOINTMENT. Due to my own personal experience, I DO NOT RECOMMEND Celtic Home Improvement. Quick background, the reason I hired Celtic Home Improvement was to repair a leaky foundation. David, the owner, recommended that I also replaced the back porch/deck since it was aged and he needed to remove it to access the area of the leak. We agreed to a price and project. The work order David sent me went as follows: 1) remove old rotted siding. 2) remove old composite decking boards 3) investigate rim joist of the porch/deck and outside bearing wall. 4) repair rotted wood as needed. Not too exceed more than replacing rotted wood in the area of damaged area noticeable..... and so forth. There's more which is not relevant to the issue. Are you still with me? Ok. So this is where the problem begins. Just over a month later after David completed the job, we had some heavy rain in the area. I noticed that water was still getting in through the foundation. I already had another contractor on site doing some touch up work so I asked them to investigate. They found that the outside rim joist was completely rotted and needed to be replaced - please refer back to item #3 and #4 of the work order to understand my confusion and shock to find this out. Not once did David disclose any issue with the rim joist or anything at all for that matter. I contacted David to discuss the findings. I sent him pictures and videos documenting everything. I also requested a partial refund so I could get the work done properly - I should have asked for FULL REFUND because his entire work ended up being COMPLETELY REDONE including the deck. To my surprise, David immediately became defensive and responded via text message with insults (e.g., he called me "Cheap", "Crazy", and accused me of blackmail). At one point he went so far as to write, "You should've spent more money for the real thing".... Kind of difficult to do that when the "professional" doesn't inform the client of a problem. In the end, I did end up spending more money for a real professional to do the real thing. Funny that it could have been more money in Dave's pocket had he told me about the issue in the first place and not assume that I was "Cheap" and "Crazy". read more

I, for one, was pleased with David's services. The price that we negotiated was fair and the workmanship was good. The windows he ordered were delayed at the manufacturer but once they showed up, David came to install them when he said he would. He was willing to do other, minor jobs and changes on the property I asked for. Personally we got along just fine. I can only recommend Celtic Home Improvements to others. read more

Not long ago my storm door, that clearly wasn't installed properly by someone else, blew off in a wind storm & wrecked the frame & door. David did a fantastic job from start to finish!! He took care of everything!! I would highly recommend him and his crew for your next job!! read more
