I grew up in Lake Orion and came back for a visit this weekend. It was the first time in a very…read morelong time that I had gone downtown to go shopping. I was so excited to see new shops and boutiques had opened up and was very impressed with Simply Marcella. Simply Marcella is the ultimate girly girl boutique, right down to the fact that they have a liquor license so you can drink wine while you shop. There are also a few things for the men as well, but most (as my husband did) would probably prefer to sit in the comfy chairs in the center of the store while us ladies do our thang. There was a lot to look at from wines to purses to clothes and jewelry. What immediately caught my eye was their selection of black pearls. The owner's sister was quick to help me and very knowledgeable about the pieces. She was super friendly and great to talk to. In the end, it was love at first sight with a simple black pearl necklace. My husband then became very helpful and got off the couch! I really hope to see downtown LO grow some more and will tell everyone that it's great to shop local, especially in stores as unique as Simply Marcella.

The heirloom ring repair glitters like it never has in its 100+ history. One of the amethyst stones was lost and replacing the stone with a similar color & clarity was incredibly difficult however, J Thomas came through with a perfect match! I also had another 100+ ring that belong to our great grandmother. That ring too received the 5 star treatment. I'm proud to wear these rings today and HIGHLY recommend J. Thomas Jewelers to anyone for new treasures and or repair/restoration work. Rochester Hills is truly fortunate to have this store in our community.

You can beat it! Gina's Store is one of a kind. When I picked it up, it was still too small -- I could barely remove it, and it left a black mark on my finger. When I went back, the same employee who sized me claimed she "would never have sized it that small," even though she did. Instead of fixing their mistake, they tried to charge me again for the same service. This ring belonged to my late mother, and their handling of it made me extremely uncomfortable. I ended up taking it elsewhere. I would not recommend this jeweler due to poor service, inconsistent information, and attempting to charge twice for an unfinished job. Needless to say, do NOT waste your time, fine someone else to do the job right the way you want it done and right the first time.

This was our first visit, and while the store itself is lovely, the young ladies working seemed uninterested in helping us. We felt more like we were bothering them than welcomed customers. As first-time visitors, it would have been nice if someone had taken a moment to explain the different jewelry collections or answer questions. I saw several pieces I was interested in, but the lack of engagement made me hesitant to ask. We ended up getting a permanent bracelet, and part of the promotion was receiving a discount for leaving a review. I had also signed up on their website and received a 10% off coupon, but when I asked about using it, I was simply told, "You can't use it." No explanation, no clarification, just a flat no. It left me wondering why I signed up in the first place if the coupon couldn't be used. The boutique is beautiful, but customer service matters. A little friendliness and willingness to help would have made a huge difference. Sadly, based on this experience, I won't be returning and would not recommend it to others.

I'm not really a big jewelry girl. I never even wore a wedding ring. I have a few basic pieces but…read morethat's it. I realize though that accessories can make or break an out fit. I have 500 pairs of shoes so why not jewelry? Because I'm very hard on it. I usually lose one earring. My necklaces break. I have never owned a jewelry box so that may be part of the issue. In fact, I literally just got my ears pierced last year. Haha. I actually got them pierced because I had lost some weight and bought a new outfit and wanted to look my best for him for a special occasion. It required just a pop of color. I wanted to wear earrings! So I got them pierced. Right after, I started looking for the perfect jewelry to add that pop of color and I decided to go into Brighton since I got my ears pierced at Partridge Creek. I walked in and was immediately greeted. The staff is super helpful. You can tell they love their job! I told her what I was looking for and both women immediately started hunting. They came up with a beautiful earring and necklace set. I wish I had gotten the bracelet too. It's really great quality. The necklace is actually heavy! I'm really bad at looking at prices when I shop so I was in for a bit of a surprise when they told me the total. This place is definitely not for the frugal. I was having some money issues at the time and swallowed hard and paid it because I was embarrassed. I figured I would go home and if I had buyer's remorse, I would return them. But I didn't. I kept the items and they have had a lot of use! But as I said,. Very hard on my jewelry. I broke one of the earrings. I was so sad. I went on line and tried to find a replacement set, but they don't make them anymore. I decided to go back to the store and see if maybe they had any left hidden somewhere. I was disappointed to find out they didn't. But then, as I was talking to them, they told me that they back their items and I could bring the earrings back in and they would send it back to the factory for repair. If they couldn't repair it, they would replace it. I was so happy! It took 6 weeks and I ended up getting a new set of earrings for free. This is good customer service and this will bring me back for all my jewelry needs. This makes the cost well worth it!
