TOTAL AND COMPLETE RIPOFF. CELLAIRIS MAINE MALL sells defective products and does not honor warranty or respect customers.
I broke my first iphone glass recently, after having it fall 7 inches onto carpet. The build quality of an iphone is notoriously bad, but regardless, I needed a new screen. I stopped by the CELLAIRIS kiosk in the MAINE MALL and was offered 3 different prices during the conversation to repair the screen - in reality a replacement. I asked if they were using Apple-approved parts, and was assured that they were - that was LIE NUMBER ONE.
While replacing the screen the unqualified tech broke the fragile ribbon that connects the light sensor, and had to order a new one. This left a small empty space where the sensor would go, and a (as anyone with a basic understanding of construction would understand) weak point under the glass. This cracked the next day, quite literally while sitting in a case on my desk. Perhaps God himself sneezed on it, as it broke exactly where that sensor would have been.
I went on friday (3 days after the initial repair) and was met with complete absurdity in the form of unempowered employees that could not or would not replace the screen, let alone the sensor. I was told the owner - a shifty eyed Russian whom is unable to look anyone in the eye because of his bad business, would be there in 20 minutes. I waited over an hour. He did not arrive. I went back today (Sunday) on my now third trip. I waited again for the shifty russian - whom we shall now refer to as Shifty Yuri, to arrive with his coffee.
20 minutes later - here comes Shifty Yuri. I calmly explain the situation, refer to the two previous visits and conversations, and showed him the phone - again, which 72 hours prior had been "repaired". I showed him the broken screen, exactly where the sensor would have supported it.
His response - "you broke it - why are you lying to me?"
Shifty Yuri would not look me in the eye.
"I didn't, but in good faith, why not split the cost with me, I leave happy, and we call it a day?" I asked, trying to just get some closure.
Shifty Yuri, his eyes darting around like he was having a Saturday morning anime-triggered petit-mal seizure, lacking the ability to look at mine, refused. "I cannot", he said, his strong 7-11 aftershave becoming overpowering, "I will not..." he continued, "... you broke it and are lying. You must pay for a new one."
"Seriously?" I replied, voice slightly raised as perhaps the lack of customers had deafened his small, carnie-like ears. "I'm trying to just meet you in the middle here. Finish the repair and let me leave happy. "
I mentioned that a happy customer is worth more than one that leaves angry. He didn't care. See - to someone like Shifty Yuri, he only cares about what he can grab today, and has no long term plan or vision. A modern day petty crook, in the past he would have been the mechanic who stabs your radiator line with a screwdriver while checking the fluids, and then tells you that a new one is needed.
Shifty Yuri and Cellairis Maine Mall are just bad people, worse businessmen, and awful human beings. If you're thinking of using them, message me, and I will take your money and burn it - at least you'll get a pretty flame, which is more than I received from the HORRIBLE OWNER AND SERVICE AT CELLAIRIS PORTLAND MAINE. I hope that the owner of the parent company sees this. Your brand is being ruined by this kiosk, as the reviews here show. read more
