Unfortunately neither of the two elevators went up to Le Roof. You had to walk up another staircase to enter Le Roof, where there was an unmarked door to Le Roof. We enjoyed Le Roof outside twice, which I will summarize here. We were first here for lunch on their outside deck area. I ordered their manzo burger medium rare for 15 euro, but it was overcooked beyond medium rare. The french fries were not so great. I enjoyed a bottle of still mineral water, which was 3 euro. I also enjoyed my local Peroni draft beer for 8 euro. Miriam served us well. Our total bill for both of us was 49 euro less gratuity. We returned here for cocktails and a snack after dinner. I enjoyed my two glasses of Calice vino rosso for 8 euro each or 16 euro total. We also enjoyed their selezione formaggi cheese board, which had lots of good local cheese. Fabrizio served us well. My total bill for both of us was 51 euro less gratuity. More to come regarding our other experiences in Rome.

The views of the city are beautiful from the terrace and the interior is cozy. Our servers were friendly and attentive on both meals. Our first lunch was a quick one while we waited for our rooms to be ready. We had the Carbonara, Cacio e Pepe and pizza. I especially enjoyed the carbonara. Dinner was lovely as well. I ordered the octopus and lemon gelato. Loved both! Note that we came in for dinner around 6pm and dinner is not served until 7:00pm (7:30pm in most restaurants in Rome). We were hoping for a much heavier meal, but the octopus was great!

Ai PIani is absolutely fantastic if you love seafood, love raw fish and love an adventure. 1. Ambiance - A great location with outdoor seating and nice elegant indoor seating. This is a very sumptuous ambiance that is both formal and smart casual. Very comfortable and relaxing! 2. Food - Ahh, Start - first when you arrive, they will offer you something to drink and they recommended sparkling wine or prosecco which is just like champagne. Nice way to start the culinary experience. Bread - They start you off with Carta da Musica, which literally translated is Music Sheet. It is a thin bread very crispy and a Sardinian specialty. Very tasty! Appetizer - We had a special chef recommendation of Crudo Misto which is a mix of raw fish like langoustine, shrimp and a white fish. Very, very tasty and simple. If you like sushi, you would like this very much. We also had the Moscardini, small baby octopus and Fried Alici, small sardines that taste very nice. The texture and the light taste is great. The meal- Spigola al sale - Sea Bass baked in Salt, absolutely perfect baked fish, flaky and tender. You don't taste the salt at all, it just keeps the moisture in. Astice alla catalana - Lobster Catalan which is cooked Lobster mixed in with I am not sur what, but if you love seafood, you will love this. If you are ready for a treat, and love to try things, check this place out. It is fantastic!

Osteria Cacio e Pepe has that cozy, tucked-away Roman charm, with a simple exterior that opens into…read morea warm, rustic interior filled with wooden tables and traditional décor. Located in Trastevere, one of Rome's most charming and atmospheric neighborhoods across the Tiber, the location is slightly removed from major monuments, and full of winding streets, nightlife, and local hangouts. The atmosphere is intimate and lively, especially in the evenings, with a mix of locals and visitors creating a welcoming buzz. At around 9pm on a Thursday night, the restaurant was about three-quarters full, and our party of five was seated immediately. The menu encompasses everything you could want from a traditional Italian restaurant: a plethora of pastas, pizzas, and large format entrees; there's also lots of reasonably priced drinks if you're looking for an aperitivo! Two members of our party ordered their signature Cacio e Pepe (€16.50), which came with a generous portion of housemade tonnarelli pasta, PDO pecorino cheese, and freshly-ground black pepper. Their pasta was perfectly al dente with just the right ratio of flour, eggs (from their own farm!), and water, and the ideal thickness to pair with the creamy sauce. The earthy, woody black pepper also lent an intriguing addition to the rich dish. Another two friends sampled their Amatriciana (€16), which is rigatoni with guanciale (cured pork cheek), pecorino cheese, and a fresh tomato sauce. Don't let the simplicity of the dish fool you; the ridged rigatoni soaks up the bright, acidic tomato sauce beautifully, and the savory guanciale adds a lovely textural contrast, with parmesan for a rich yet tangy aftertaste. I ordered their Abbacchio al Forno (€19), which came with a gargantuan portion of roasted lamb on the bone, served with tender herbed potatoes and fresh lettuce. The lamb was flavorful yet not overly gamey, and I appreciated the lettuce on the side, as it seemed vegetables were few and far between during our time in Rome! Lastly, we ordered four Tiramisus (€7 each) - this was a fairly traditional take on the classic dessert, with pillowy ladyfingers soaked in espresso, topped with whipped mascarpone and a light dusting of cocoa powder. Four orders was probably overkill; each portion can comfortably serve two. We truly loved our meal at Osteria Cacio e Pepe - the vibe is warm and fun, the food is delicious, and price-wise, it's perfectly reasonable, fitting for a sit-down Roman osteria that balances authenticity with accessibility. We appreciated the complimentary limoncello shots to close out the night - just another example of the Roman hospitality we'd received all throughout our trip!

One…read morewaiter was great, the other younger bloke was okay but overall out table of 3 had a fantastic meal with desserts especially being absolute standouts! Starters: We got Tomato Bruschetta (I felt it needed more oil), the Salmon Bruschetta (great olives, wish more generous serving of salmon was given) and zucchini flowers croquettes with cheese and anchovies as started. All were decent, but nothing jumped out. BTW, if you are staying at the Hilton next door, they give you a free voucher for the Tomato Bruschetta, so make sure u get that deal! The food items we got for our Mains included: 1) Pasta Special of the day - home-made fettuccine with mushrooms and sausage: this was superb! My personal fave of the night with gorgeous variety of mushrooms with wonderful sausage and perfectly fresh al debate pasta with a dash of olive oil. I loved every bite and if had an extra tummy, would have ordered a second serving of this dish. 2) Big Portion of Grilled seasonal vegetables -my 2nd fave dish of the night! Beautifully crisp potatoes and superbly grilled bell peppers and zucchini in particular just hit the spot 3) Vegetarian Pizza - lovely crust, and a decent variety + amount of vegetables. However just needed something from a salt taste perspective to bring the taste up a notch for me. Didn't enjoy this dish as much as the other two main menu items Dessert Menu: - Crostata con fruti di bosco ($5.90) - blue fruits pie: my mother loved this dish. You could taste the fruits in every bite! The pie tasted very fresh, but for me the crust wasn't as tasty. - Tiramisu al pistachio ($4.90): oh my gosh!! Just an amazing dessert! I want to come back and try the strawberry one next. The pistachios are sprinkled on top, and the lady fingers are limited, so instead you get this gloriously rich and lovely mascarpone creme! I am a fan of this interpretation of the Tiramisu dessert but can understand it may not be for everyone. Definitely recommend and might end up coming back again, since it's located so close to the hotel! Oh and definitely make a reservation- they got busy very quickly and the night of, we were lucky and got the last table! Yelp 266/ 2018
