The greatest challenge was that I wanted the piano to be kept upstairs in our second living room, and thought it would be impossible due to the staircase turns. I spoke to Sam on the phone and text messaged photos of the stairs with measurements to consult whether it would be a possibility before making the drive to the store. Don't let the store's small entrance fool you, WA Pianos had more selection hiding inside than I anticipated, and saved us a trip to Bellevue (which would have been our 3rd piano store attempt traveling far from Kitsap County). After coming to a price that we could both agree on, I purchased a beautiful secondhand Kawai upright 45" K-200 series. I expressed my concerns regarding minor scratches on the black ebony finish, which I was pleased to know could be easily taken cared of by the store's piano detailer. Delivered before the end of the week with great communication from the movers. Thank you Mr Sam for guiding us on this important purchase, you are truly appreciated. (Also note- after researching online and comparing prices, I can confidentially say I paid a good price and I have zero buyers remorse!)

I received all my instruments back in Superior condition then when I submitted them to him. My son took lessons from that old bearded man that a one star below complained about. My son adored that man. Unfortunately the old guy passed away and the world is a sorrier place without him. I've read through all these comments and it's striking how most of them are five star with a few four stars and then there's several one stars. When you see mostly five and four stars and then a scattering of one star you need to understand that those are people that won't be happy no matter what you do for them. I highly recommend Sam and music trader and you can feel confident that he will not only take care of your instruments as if they were his own, you're going to get them back working better than when you took them in.

Where to start? Robert has done 3 jobs for me in the past year. First, he setup an Epiphone 339…read morethat looked great but didn't sound so hot. After his setup it sings and is now my favorite guitar. Next, I gave him a VOX Guardsman amp that had some static issues. He checked and cleaned every connection. When I got it back it sounded clean and loud. Next, he did a repair/restoration of an old LP that I did not take a care of. He straightened the neck, installed new frets, gold hardware and tuners, adjusted the nut and polished the whole thing. Robert returned it to factory condition. The neck is straight and the action is sublime. The quality of Robert's work is very high and he is equally gifted with instruments and amps which is rare. Additionaly, Robert is really easy to work with, a great communicator and his rates are super reasonable. I am very glad I found him and will be bringing him more work. I've had some good repairs before but Robert and Smithway are the best I have experienced.
