Was a busy Friday night at Cedarvale lanes that's for sure. I called ahead to make a lane reservation and was a bit frustrated they didn't take reservations on Fridays. They also told me they had league night which in my experience is a bit strange for a Friday. They assured me they'd still have a lane open when we arrive at 830Pm. Upon arrival they had a huge line and waitlist and everyone had to wait until league got out at 9pm; felt further frustrated. We got onto our lane at 905pm, not the worst as we got a round of pool in prior to playing. From here, the night went nice and smooth. Prices were a lot higher than I remember, $27 a person for 2 hours, but that's the economy I suppose. Got 3 games in, in 2 hours between 4 people. Ordered a couple pizzas, which were okay but a bit underwhelming. Years ago I remember this bowling alley having quite good pizza but it seems they downgraded their kitchen, at least after 9pm, and they only served personal sizes, no large pizzas. Regardless of the frustrating wait, and odd and underwhelming pizza, I enjoyed a nice evening of bowling with friends. read more

We love Cedarvale! We like to come here on Sunday mornings when it opens and it's not busy at all. The people working the counter are always helpful and nice! There is also a restaurant and you can get service to your lanes to order food or drinks which is great as well. There's a proshop in the alley where I got some plugs for my ball as well and it's all reasonably priced. I highly reccomend this bowling alley! read more

Called about open bowling. Told there was but with lane restrictions at 6:30 for leagues. Get there around 4:30, lanes already blocked off and only a few lanes open for bowling. Got on a waitlist. Waited an hour and no lane available. Decided to eat at the connected Fitz's bar and restaurant and see if one opened up. Service was terrible and food was meh. For a family of six total food bill for burgers and fries was $115! Check back in for bowling and still no open lanes so we left. Could have told me on the phone they start shutting down lanes two hours early for the league and there would be a wait. We could have bowled and been out of there by the time the leagues started not sure why they shut down lanes so early. What a waste of time. Will not return. read more

They need to bring back the state fair cheese curds and teach their bartenders how to execute a drink better. I used to come here every weekend! Came on a Friday night at 5:30pm for my sons birthday party - we walked right in and and got 3 lanes for bowing for a group of 20 people. The place was empty! So it was great! The gentleman helping us get the lanes was very knowledgeable & friendly. He said he had been only been working there for 2 months, but was really great! Bowling was fun! You can tell some of the bowling balls were a little damaged as they spun poorly. But, we weren't playing in a league, just having some fun. So it didn't matter that much. Our server was fantastic - we had a complicated way of paying as I was paying for everyone's appetizers/food and everyone else paid for their own drinks. Our server did a wonderful job of keeping everything straight and being on top of drinks/food. She cleared things out as needed and got us paper plates for the cupcakes I brought in for my sons birthday. The nachos are AMAZING!!!! I'd definitely recommend these. Along with the waffle fries & season sour cream. YUM! Great place to hang out for a night. We will definitely be back! read more

The service here sucks! Literally takes the waiters awhile to come to your lane when it's not busy ! They chat among themselves, the female bartender is too busy chatting to and not focusing. I bowl in one league here and sometimes sub in another league, so I am here weekly for about 40 weeks out of the year (okay, that is a sad sentence). The lanes themselves are bad--consistently oily or dry, not well maintained, and the pin setting machines constantly are breaking or setting the pins incorrectly. My ball once got sucked into the return machine and came out with a gouge 3 inches long and about 1/16" deep! RIDICULOUS. The employees who work at the counter are bad. There is one woman who is always working there and is ALWAYS mean, rude, unhelpful. The guy who runs the pro shop (Scott?) is pretty nice and good at what he does. The other guys who work behind the counter are okay. The women's bathroom is DISGUSTING and so poorly laid out--the entry door swings in, but the first stall is right there so you're always hitting someone either coming in or going out. It's always a mess--never clean. I avoid the bathroom at all costs unless it's an absolute emergency. People smoke right outside of every door (they don't enforce the required 25 feet per state law), so don't be surprised. And the steps are always VERY icy in the winter. I walk very gingerly so I don't fall. Parking is a disaster, so definitely arrive early. There are a lot of people who drive massive pickup trucks that take up the back row, or take up 3 spots instead of just one. The lot is very poorly plowed during the winter, so parking is even harder to find then. In the summer, they put in sand volleyball courts in the parking lot and therefore spots are even scarcer. The courts usually are in place until early Sept. or so, which is when fall leagues start, so plan accordingly. A lot of people end up parking at Jensen's next door and walking over, or they just park in the street or across the street at the outlet mall. The parking lot is also in terrible shape, full of potholes and whatnot. The ONLY saving grace about Cedarvale is not Cedarvale itself, but Fitz's Bar and Grill, which is the in-house bar/restaurant. The waitresses who work our bowling league are always very good at responding to requests and bring food and drink quickly. The food is delicious and there is quite a bit of variety for a bowling alley. I have never had a meal that I was disappointed with or underwhelmed. Even the grilled cheese is phenomenal!!! All in all, it's a bowling alley, so I can't complain too much, but I do wish the bathrooms were cleaner and that parking wasn't such a disaster. I am not a fan of those Brunswick Zone bowling alley/video arcade extravaganzas, so I don't mind the more dive-y aspects of this bowling alley, all things considered... read more

Pretty dated and run down. The staff were rude and confusing, they told us we need a reservation but gave us a lane after giving us a hard time about not calling ahead, through the next 2 hours the lanes were wide open so I'm not sure about that. The drinks are incredibly weak, I was basically drinking an $8 coke. The playlist from 2010 was probably the funniest part though, I'm not complaining but I imagine that's played every night. I honestly wasn't expecting much when I went here, but was throughly impressed upon arrival, yeah it's a typical bowling ally. But it's clean, has a pretty darn decent waiting service, really nice staff, and a restaurant with pretty awesome wings attached to it. The beers could be cheaper but they were fairly standard pricing: 4.75 for a tall beer not on special. The bowling was fun, a decent crowd but not too packed which made it even better. All in all it's an awesome place to go with a fun group of friends, but I probably would go here on a date or with just a couple people. read more

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon in hopes to play a quick game of bowling and have a bite to eat. It was 1:45 in the afternoon and only 4 lanes were being used. The woman at the counter rudely refused stating she was shutting down the whole half of the bowling alley for leagues at 3:30. Like I said it wasn't even 2pm !!!!If that's how it needs to be fine but being polite and courteous would have been nice. We just wanted to play one game we wouldn't be 30 minutes and I think it's pretty ridiculous you would refuse business especially at a time like this. Thanks for nothing! read more

We went to Cedarvale on Valentine's Day this year. Nothing says romance like bowling, right? Mom, dad, and 8 year old kid. Welcome to middle age, folks. Anyway, we arrived at noon, and Cedarvale had a bowling tourney going on, but only on half the lanes. Fortunately, Cedarvale staff tended to our non-tourney needs, got us our shoes and a lane very promptly, and away we went. Bowling was good, food/drink service at the lanes was fantastic, and dad won...it was a great Valentines, complete with no chance of practicing for more kids! We even stuck around and had lunch in the restaurant, which was great. Great service, great food, great prices; thanks Cedarvale! Hopefully I can convince the wife that bowling is much better than a fancy dinner and flowers next year! read more

This is a great 32 lane bowling alley near the new twin cities outlets in Eagan. The lanes were well lit and the staff was nice. There is a lot of room between the alley and the raised carpet area for watching. Attached to the bowling alley is Fritz's bar and grill. The food was good and came out fast. I had a Hawaiian Ham sandwich ant it was awesome. The building also has a pro shop in it that is run by a championship bowler. I would recommend stopping in and bowling here sometime. read more

Lanes were nice, but didn't have a good experience. I went up to the bar with my passport because my license was expired, and I didn't want to give them an expired ID. They refused service from me (I look like a teen too) and said I needed yellow or white papers along with my passport: 1. I got my passport 2 years ago (I'm 26) and they DO NOT give you papers with a passport; only when renewing a license. If this was a corporate decision, they need to change it for people who are not from this state or county because I can guarentee they won't have papers with their passports-there is no such thing. 2. I bartend and am an Administrative Assistant as well and have read the MN liquor laws for reports and I know the MN Best Practices program for selling liquor. The bartender wasn't even friendly, but did apologize. The lane I was in also broke twice and we had to restart out lane a few times. People offered to buy me drinks because they knew me, but I didn't want to give the place any more business; I almost walked out with one more game to spare. read more

My mom and I went today and the experience was absolutely amazing. The man at the front desk for bowling was extremely kind to us and mentioned deals so we could save money. Since it was our first time, he even lend us the bowling shoes for free. He took the time to teach us how to play and use the scoreboard and it was one of the best experiences we've had in awhile. My friend invited me for Tuesday night bowling and I had a pretty good time. They have a bar/restaurant and the bowling alley itself. They are connected to each other and you can press a button at your lane to get service. There is some kind of deal going on when it's Tuesday. I'm not entirely sure what all the details are, but I know that we played at least 5 games of bowling and had shoes for $7. They also have $5 pitchers of select beer. Last time we went I was a bit disappointed because they cut our last game short without any explanation. Its a bowling alley and has a restaurant/bar connected to it. They have awesome specials throughout the week on food and drinks. The price is what you would expect. The parking lot seems to be always full though so makes parking a bit of a hassle. If your not the best bowler out there like myself they have tons of sega claw machines which make it easy to grab some fun stuffed animals for 50cents a play. read more

Why are all bowling alleys so damn ghetto?? This one is no exception, a dingy atmosphere and that stinky-feet-used-balls smell permeates throughout. Still a fun place to take the kids for a fun family outing though. They also have leagues and typical bowling alley food and accoutrements. read more

The bowling was fun. The lanes were good and everything worked. However, the employee there treated me and my party like an inconvenience. I was there to bowl, and he acted like running my card was a trouble. He had attitude, never looked me in the eye, and tossed the shoes on the table. Ben Olson was his name. I don't want to spend my hard earned money at a place that doesn't appreciate my business. Nor should an employee at an entertainment venue have such an attitude. As i was told by the lady that answered the phone, There are no open lanes for pre-bowling due to league's Monday thru Thursday from 4pm to 9pm. i bowl on a Friday evening league and i am disappointed that there are not lanes available to anyone. i was asking for only 1 lane and i guess that they must fill all 32 lanes 4 days a week. with that in mind, i would expect the lanes to be in better condition and the pin machines to be working and as i have seen, for a league to wait 1 hour and 10 minutes because of faulty equipment and they were never offered another lane to complete their games in a timely manner. The bar (Fitz's) has great food and excellent service, i think that the bowling alley could use some serious customer service relations schooling from the bar. read more

Came on a rainy day with 3 young ones. They were really accommodating with young kids, super friendly, reasonable prices for food.

Vibes were all good until some friends and I went to the front desk to get a lane. I simply asked the large man with a beard (I believe his name was Ben Olsen) for a lane somewhat away from the crowded area. He then cut me off mid sentence and said "nope" in the rudest way possible. I was annoyed at that point and proceeded to my lane. My friends and I were thirsty, so we asked for a pitcher of water. The waitress took over 20 min to answer the call button. When she arrived it was all fine. We pressed the call button and waited another 20 minutes for her to answer a second time. I assume she was busy with the bar, but there were at least 3 other waitresses tending the bar. When she did answer the call button, she asked me what I wanted. I said "Can we please get another refill?" As I said that she took the pitcher and said "For fuck's sake," while rolling her eyes. This is no joke and I wouldn't be making this up just to troll. This place has two rude workers, that should be trained on manners. The waitress was an older lady, with gray almost white hair. That night she had sunglasses on her head holding her hair back. I hate this place and will never come back because of the rude service. If you do not like or enjoy your job, find a new job that will make you happier. read more

would like to give less than one star but can not do that here. wanted to go bowling with the family. walked up to the counter. the person behind was not every helpful. we asked for one lane. he said that the closed ( 10 ) lane were asked for already. walked in the bar to get some sodas for the family. waited 15 there for service. no go on that. walked back to where the family was going to be sitting at a table but they got kick off that table ( even though there was tables at the other side that the waitress could have setup for the so called party). This place is pretty clean except for the bathrooms they are pretty disgusting. The staff are generally just okay I have never seen anyone go above or beyond. If you want food or drinks you usually have to seek them out they take forever to notice you or ask if you want something. Most of the time we try to go here they never have open bowling so we were surprised to find it tonight. They made us pay full price for a 2 year old even though he can't really bowl a game and they don't have shoes for little kids. BS if you ask me. The kid at the counter cooked his noodles and sat and stared at us most of the time which was really uncomfortable. They could use a little air conditioning, it felt like an oven in there. Since there are not a ton of choices around here for a descent price this place is pretty good. Get there early because the parking is a nightmare when it's busy. My 4 friends and I were eagerly ready to spend the night before Memorial Day bowling together. We were wanting to have two lanes because 5 people on one lane takes awhile and we had somewhere to be afterwards. The bowling alley has 32 lanes and maybe 5 of them were in use. The employee at the counter refused to give us two lanes because "it was too much to clean". I continuously politely asked him if we could do it and he stared at me with a mean glare for 10 seconds in silence. I accepted that we weren't going to get two lanes and he aggressively told us the cost for us to bowl and continued to have an attitude the whole process. We started bowling and our lane got messed up and wouldn't clear out. We clicked the help button and probably waited 5 minutes until I went and got the manager to help. She replied to me with an attitude "you have to go to the front desk for that". I'm very disappointed with the service and environment I was surrounded by. read more
