While today was not my first time at Cedars, today only reminded me how delicious and enjoyable a visit here is. I truly wish that I could take advantage of this location more often. Ample space, proceeding, courteous staff, and an average expanding menu of authentic Lebanese dishes, sides, desserts, and my personal favorite Turkish coffee. My best friend and I opted for two freshly squeezed glasses of orange juice just as delicious as you can enjoy in the Mediterranean and split an order of Turkish coffee very full of flavor and fragrance gave us the pepper in our step that we were looking for after a good workout. We opted for a couple of the mezze, the tabouli salad (I asked for it with extra lemon and they completely delivered, which was super delicious), an order of Fattoush salad, and an order of hummus with chicken Shawarma on top. It was a great portion for two! I took a crepe to go for the boo, I love that they have these now!! A kinder and strawberry crepe just hits!!! Highly recommend this establishment, even if you don't go for hookah the vibes are impeccable and it's a great place to go to catch up with a pal and experience a little middle eastern culture and cuisine. read more

Guys I kid you not the juices here are to die for and were the real stars of the show!!! My friend lives near this spot and has been trying to eat here for a while so naturally we came. First the chicken shawarma - honestly not impressed as the chicken isn't super fresh and there wasnt enough sauce but its still good, probably wouldn't order again. Cedars is a strange place. On a Saturday night Cedars is filled to the brim with people smoking hookah, playing cards, snacking on appetizers, and having a good time. The issue I found is that they are all middle eastern or Arabic, and as a white couple we were strangely out of place. I was driving late at night and was hungry and AppleMap gave this as the closest place to eat. What a random but interesting find. It's a Wednesday night at 10:30 and the place is packed. I've heard many many many good things about this place, but for some reason I didn't feel the same way as my friends. For starters, it's a lot further than Sir. We walked in, and were quickly greeted and sat down (we weren't able to pick which table we wanted). Since this was our first time, we decided to browse the menu to see if they had any different or unusual flavors. Nope, same old. Perfect, so let's get the usual - guava mint. It took them forever to take our order. I think we waited for a good 20 minutes. Finally ordered and got our hookah. I asked for coca nara's, but they gave us the easy-lites instead. Oh well. It tasted more minty than guava, but that's okay because I prefer that anyways. Onto the ambience and service - Y I K E S. The ambience is fine, but the music is so loud! I felt like I was screaming to my friend who was sitting right across from me! Not only was it blasting, it was Arabic music. Blasting music that I don't understand is not a fun atmosphere for me. No idea how people were able to work in that environment. There's a tent outside for outdoor seating, but it's basically the parking lot. A bit sketchy, if you ask me. Throughout the night, the coal guy would just drop the coals. Not fix the bowl, place the coals on the unburnt area, etc. We had to do everything ourselves. We asked if we could move to another spot because the chairs were uncomfortable, but the server said he had a huge party coming in later so he can't seat us there. It was a huge and a very LOUD party. I'd expect at least every other table to be empty due to COVID, but doesn't seem like they are following properly safety precautions and guidelines. Time to pay - when I called earlier, she said it was $15. Nice! We love a steal! Once I got to the register it was $20+. Very confused. I asked her why the extra and she said because we got the coco nara coals. Umm, no sorry we didn't. She quickly deducted the amount, but if I wasn't paying attention, they'd just take my extra money. The outside is also very dim lit and sketchy. Thank god my friend was with me, because otherwise I definitely would not feel comfortable walking by myself at night to my car. We didn't try the food or milkshakes (which I heard were great), but honestly I don't think I'll return to try then. Great food, good atmosphere, and an enjoyable environment. There are games you can play, watch some TV, or smoke some hookah. The food there is also great and they stay open late at night so its perfect for a midnight meal! The customer demographics are pretty skewed but that shouldn't shy you away from trying this place. read more

My group of friends are geographically dispersed and we usually go to Tysons for hookah but someone looked Cedar's up and it's exactly the halfway point for us. We decided to try it out and we've been back a few times now. Nice thing about them is their chairs are comfortable which is a problem at most hookah bars. Nice decor and the staff is friendly. They don't have sahlab on their menu but we asked if they had it regardless and they were able to make it for us! I love sahlab and can't usually find somewhere that makes it well. I appreciate how they went out of their way to make it. We ate once as well and the presentation of the food is amazing. I got the beef shawarma plate with fries and they give you a little individual ketchup bottle that's super cute. It's a lot of food and I ended up taking half of it home. My friends got the chicken markook sandwich which looked amazing! Everyone enjoyed their meal. Hookah is pretty good as well. Only thing I didn't like is they don't leave you a few coals to light on your own. Whenever we would ask for a new coal we would literally have to wait for 10 minutes until someone came around with a lit one. They leave you tongs so why not coal too? Overall Cedar's is pretty nice and probably will stay in our rotation of places to meet up. But they definitely need to be a little faster with the coals and bringing the check (we had to ask 3 times). read more

I'm not Lebanese; however, I've always been fascinated by cultures different from my own and I had enjoyed my 5+ visits to Cedar, in the past. Tonight, June 3rd, I did not. I arrived around 10:00pm, alone (as I usually do). Because they were swamped with customers, I had to wait along with 10 or so other people, some of them were seated first, because tables of four or more had opened. I could appreciate how I was best suited for a table of one or two. So I waited about 20 minutes for a table. Fine. I'm a patient person. So then 20 minutes after my arrival, I got a table and ordered a hookah and a mango smoothie. I received the hookah almost immediately, but with no coals. I was asked what kind of coals I wanted, and I opted for the cube-shaped coals. I thought those would arrive. They did not. My mango smoothie arrived. And I saw the guy who distributed coals going from table to table. tables near me and tables far from me, and each time I tried to get the guy's attention he'd twirl in another direction. Away from my line of sight. I'm sure it wasn't intentional, but it felt disrespectful. Fifteen minutes after receiving my hookah, and after me having two sips of my smoothie, the guy finally saw me. I patiently asked for coals for my hookah. He appeared apologetic, and arrived ten minutes later with coals. So 45 minutes after my arrival, (without taking a single puff of the hookah I paid for), (and tipped 18% for), I lost the desire or heart to smoke in Cedar. I was pissed off. I didn't raise my voice. I paid and was respectful in leaving. But I was so heartbroken for being so disrespected by a place I so respected. read more

This place has so much potential, yet it falls just short on certain aspects. Let's start with the good - the space. It's really nice, and I love the aesthetics - the pictures, the lighting, the seating arrangement, the high ceilings, the sound and the acoustics. The hookah is good and the food is decent, but service is almost non-existent. It's like I'm on a mission to uncover who is my mystery server? Regarding the food - I ordered the gyro, but strangely, my gyro had tahini on it, as opposed to the yogurt or tzatziki sauce that it's normally served with. Tahini goes on falafel or meat shawarmas. Also, when I think of gyros, I think of a very meaty texture. I want to struggle to fold my pita around the gyro meat. Be generous with the portion! I was disappointed when my gyro arrived because the gyro meat was so thinly sliced into a paper-like texture. It had more vegetables than I would have liked. I don't want to eat pita and veggies, otherwise I would have picked a vegetarian option. 3.5 stars - plenty of potential, yet lots of areas to improve upon. read more

Cedar's is a mood. I went there to have a coffee and get some work done. That was not the intended purpose of this place. On a Tuesday around 5, it was much more about socializing with a group of friends around a hookah. It looked like everyone was having fun, but I was the awkward girl drinking Turkish coffee with my laptop. The guy next to me got a text from a friend asking if he wanted to go to Cedar's. He responded with a photo of a hookah; he was already there. It seems like Cedar's is definitely a Thing. I got the chicken shawma and it was pretty groundbreakingly good. The place looks nice and modern, it's also very centrally located. We went there for lunch recently and the food was delicious and authentic based on our order of Mezza Sampler. We also ordered the milk tea but that was very watered down and did not taste very good. The hookah was good but not prepared so we had to get the fire on and prepare it ourselves. This works fine for those who know how to prepare the hookah but for the people who do not know and the slow service It will be a long time before you can take the first puff. The service was very slow and little attention is given when it comes to service. I had to go to the front several times and ask for things missing. The hookah cafe is fairly new. It's actually connected to Cedar's Gourmet Cafe so you can always order some food from the cafe while enjoying your hookah. I like the hookah here. It taste good and it comes with a disposable hose . I'm a germaphobic so disposable tubes are the way to go. Wait staff is friendly and since they are fairly new there isn't much of a crowd for now. This makes it a little easier as there's less second hand hookah smoke. There is 3 giant TV in the hookah lounge so you can smoke and watch the game. When I was here they had a basketball game going on the TV. You can also replenish your hookah supply if need any. They sell shisha and coal here as well. The price for hookah and drinks are moderately priced. Typically a lot of the hookah cafe tend to up their drink prices to make more profit but this place doesn't so it's a plus. read more

I've had my ups and downs with this place. Mostly downs. The hookah isn't great most of the time but I continued to go for the well lit atmosphere that enabled me to do some homework. I use my own WiFi, so essentially , the only thing I liked about this place is the setup. Everything else is so-so. Especially today , after I got a terrible hookah, they failed to fix it although I told them it wasn't good. Complete waste and they definitely lost a regular client. UPDATE: they regained their regular client. The new setup + some extra attentive service and consideration has EARNED them 3 more stars! Though .. the hookah is still hit or miss, the other positive factors make up for it. At lest for me.... 6/2/18 update- I'm never going back to this place. Terrible experiences over and over again ... there's no point to keep trying to give a place another chance when they've already showed you that they don't value your business. read more

I have been coming here on and off for almost 6 months. It is an excellent place to get schoolwork done and relax. I am a huge critic of hookah. The hookah here is usually very good. They could add a wider array of flavors (pumpkin spice would be awesome) and introduce coconut coals, but their list of flavors isn't bad. Service is better than most hookah stops. The atmosphere is inviting and the aesthetics appeal to those looking for a cafe to read, work, or relax. I have not tried the food so I could not comment on that. read more
