She was very helpful over the course of a few hours, showing us multiple dogs until we found our new forever dog, William (Tick)! We had visited the humane society a day before, and it was just a totally different environment, and I am very happy that we were able to find the Valley Humane Society instead. This is a place where you can tell every volunteer working loves what they do, and that's helping animals back to health and then off to their forever homes! I traveled over an hour and thirty minutes to visit, and I will happily do it again when the time is right!

By the grace of God I felt the best solution was to take her to my vet in San Diego. No appointment, took her right in and in 5 minutes relayed the bad news. Had to put my pet to sleep because of obvious heart, fluid, etc issues and were very surprised to hear the vets in Casa Grande couldn't figure that out. If Fifi needs her nails trimmed, go here. Otherwise take your pet to a competent vet in Phoenix or elsewhere.

But once I got there, I saw they had all their paperwork clearly posted, and the people were warm, responsive, and genuinely caring. They took the cats in without hesitation and made sure everything was done properly. It ended up being a really positive experience, and I felt safe leaving the animals in their care. They're clearly doing good work for animals in need, and I think they deserve community support and donations to keep going.

They also will NOT fax or call in any prescriptions for your pet; they instead try to push you into using their significantly overpriced pharmacy. This policy creates a LOT of trouble for pet owners and also often significantly delays an animal's receiving the meds it needs as the owner has to: (1) request a hardcopy script, then (2) either MAIL a hard copy script somewhere or (3) hand deliver a script somewhere. Additionally, their vets spend perhaps 5 minutes with an animal, and often don't even lay a hand on it. Ridiculous!

I am now a member of the board, have adopted 2 dogs through them, raise money for them, and will do anything for this rescue. It's crazy to me that some people would give a 1 star review because their application got denied! We receive tons of applications and sometimes you just aren't the right fit. It happened to me and i didn't cry about it and try to ruin the reputation of the rescue. Shelly has done more for the breed that anyone else in the state of Arizona and maybe even in the entire United States. She has devoted her life to helping these dogs and you attack her and the rescue because you got denied. I have been going to our weekly pack walks for the past 5 years and have never seen any of the people who leave bad reviews show up once. Not only is she an incredible trainer, her knowledge of animal behavior on a scientific level is phenomenal. We love learning from her WHY our dogs behave the way they do, what's ingrained, and what we can work on as well. We just had her to our house again and it was great to get her evaluation on how our dogs interact, both with each other and with us.
