PLEASE READ MY EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can see why no landscaper dump here, they charged me 180 for dump for full 5 yard bed, I rather go to burien bark, they charge 100-120 max, cedar Grove is a joke now, that's why they are so empty and burien bark is just packed eveytime I go is because burien bark is fair with their prices unlike cedar Grove. 180!! What a joke, I been landscaping for over 10 years with my truck and not once have I heard of this ridiculous price for 180 anywhere!!! The only reason they are still in business is because of commercial companies goes to them, you won't see any local landscaper going there, wow I'm so outraged that I paid 180 because I didn't have time going anywhere else!!

If you care about your vegetable garden Do not buy their " organic" compost or garden mix. Few weeks ago I purchased yard of their mix for my raised beds.To my surprise there was a lot of shredded plastic pieces, rubber bands, hard plastics and rocks 3/4" to 1" . I took pictures and send it to customer service, no response.I even went to the yard and showed it to the sales person, who took my info and said he would pass it to the supervisor. No response. This is a local company, who is selling garbage and marketing as a " organic " product. If you care about what you feed your family DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP!!!!

The staff is extremely friendly and professional and their product is quality; nice clean dirt if that makes sense. My experience was a very positive one from beginning to end. When I first called for pricing, the sales person was very patient and informative. I was promised delivery for the next day, and they kept their word. Their driver who did the delivery was considerate and professional, he called me about thirty minutes before delivery to make sure I was ready. When he arrived, he put my garden mix exactly where I wanted it on my very narrow driveway even though it was a tight squeeze for such a large truck. He has good driving skills! My experience was very positive, I will use them again and whole heartily recommend them.

This breaks my heart, because I love and admire Cedar Grove for everything they do. They were offering soil delivery, so I ordered almost $100 worth. They promised to call on the day of delivery, and the delivery window was anytime within two weeks of my order. So what happens? Over 15 bags of cement-heavy soil show up at my front door. No call, text or email. So I just finished an hour of hauling bags of soil down four flights of stairs by myself. I'm not ordering or buying from Cedar Grove ever again. EDIT: I changed from one to three stars because CG contacted me to apologize and refunded the entire delivery fee.

A small portion of the yards' worth of trash in Cedar Grove's Pro mulch!!

Never again will I have a Cedar Grove product on my yard! I had my entire large yard mulched with cedar grove Pro mulch. It was so full of all kinds of trash!! Unfortunately the guy who bought the mulch wasn't supervising his workers when they spread it all over my yard. Nor did the workers notice, or care, about all the trash they were spreading around. I complained to Cedar Grove and took a bunch of photos of the trash in the mulch. I managed to get a reimbursement from Cedar Grove for what they calculated the guy paid for all the mulch. However, I would much rather not have that reimbursement and have a mulched yard without a ton of garbage in it. It will take years to pick it all out. How many birds will think that trash is food and ingest it?

On April 22 I made a conscious decision to go in to urban feed and garden to purchase a tree for my…read morewife's birthday, instead of going to a box store to support a local business in my neighborhood. I paid about 40% more for a tree, a one inch caliper hornbeam in a plastic pot. The tree had a little bit of leaf burn on its new growth, but I chalked that up to being root bound in a pot, so I purchased the tree. I was landscape contractor for years, I have planted hundreds of trees so I planted this tree giving it the best possible chance for survival. With regular watering the leaf burn continued to spread, even though I held off on fertilizing the tree, until it showed signs of some growth so I wouldn't burn it or shock it. Last week I pulled it out of the ground because it was completely dead, when I did there was zero root development. Anyway, I know from experience that sometimes new plants just die but when I was running a landscape construction I warranted every plant I ever sold to a customer. If a plant died within the first year, I would replace it. I could usually bring these plants back to the vendor and exchange them for a new one, but those were real nurseries like Gurneys or Molbaks. I called this nursery and explained what I've written above and they told me they couldn't help me, I even asked if they would just give me another tree and they declined. We live in a different world, where accountability and responsibility are foreign to a lot of people. I won't be going back to Urban And garden.

Things I love about Essential Gardeners:…read more * They really know and care about plants. If you're a native plant geek like me, you def. want to work with these folks. They know native plants vs. non-natives, what weeds are most important to tackle, etc. * If you don't have a perfect idea of what you're looking to do with your garden, they will take the time to talk with you and walk you through that process. If it's been a while since you last asked them to come by but you don't know what to ask that they do, you can just say "Help!" and they'll do a great job. * They are very respectful when it comes to working with a specific budget and never try to upsell services. * Stefany and the crew are respectful, considerate, and just plain good people. I get a ton of compliments on my garden. I was out getting my mail the other day and two people were walking down the sidewalk and I saw one of them point to my yard and say to their friend "I wish I had a garden like that!" Have to say, it's mostly due to Stefany and the crew's work over the last five years or so!

None of my emails to clarify or specify obvious things like the pruning of hedges that were spilling into the driveway were outlandish or out of scope as indicated. Throughout our brief relationship, I tried to give these guys the benefit of the doubt, but simple questions were met with the aggressive attitude you see below. Mine is not the only review to indicate this level of unprofessional behavior following service that was incomplete. I definitely do not make a habit of negative reviews (this would be my first and only to date), but I did want to do my best to provide what I feel to be a fair recap of my experience with Essential Gardeners in case any others find it of use. I certainly wish I had paid more attention to the review that was so similar to my experience. I stand by my one star review. I acknowledge that some work was done and therefor did not go down a path of "if I could give no stars..." However there is no part of me that could recommend this company to another.
