We wanted to use a local small business and contacted Bagdon-Bottles Construction for a quote. They were very responsive and did a site visit to our home quickly. We received a quote within a week and after a few changes, proceeded with the project. Upon signing contract, choosing design and color options, construction began within a few weeks. It completed a few weeks later and we are extremely happy with the work they did. The job included tearing down and hauling away our old backyard deck. They EVEN set our new hot tub up into place on our new deck...complete with the wiring required, saving us $$$ hiring a hot tub installation company. Everyone at Bagdon-Bottles (Andrew & Chris) in the office, (Randy, Gene & Andrew) on the construction team and the owner, Mark Bagdon were very courteous and friendly. We will definitely use Bagdon-Bottles Construction for all of our remodeling needs.

Since we had such a great experience, we hired them to place 3 additional awnings. I think the additional awnings were more than they could handle. They had several "reps" from ECLIPSE, the awning manufacturing company, come and consult about the patios we wanted to cover. After much deliberation, they moved forward with the instillation. We added rain shields, that drop down for inclement weather to make the patios covered even during rain storms. We NEVER received an owners guide, manual, or any additional information on the awnings. Richard did emphasize that the awnings were guaranteed for life! The largest of the 3 new awnings never worked from day one. It was too large without an infrastructure that would hold it. The material sagged and even with just a misting of rain, would fill with water. They returned several times, they added an additional retracting arm, raised the baseline, and made several adjustments. It never was properly installed. If the awning was out, and a slight breeze came through, it ballooned up and shook the entire awning. It eventually collapsed after a mild rain shower (we didn't realize that it would collapse!). When we contacted Richard, he said there was nothing more he could do. He said that the awnings were not made more any type of rain at all. (even though our other awnings do protect from the rain, and he installed the additional rain shields!!!!!!!). Currently, the awning is tied up to the house, torn with broken mechanics. We have hired another company to help repair the awning. I would NEVER recommend this company. They not only lie to their clients, but they do NOT stand behind their product. Run from this company!!!!!!

I called several contractors needing my roof replaced on short notice due to a series of bad roof leaks on an very old flat roof system and was in a rush to get the project started with the Spring rain well on its way. Shawn Whalen himself CAME TO MY HOME THE VERY NEXT MORNING after we spoke on the phone to evaluate my roof. While I had to chase other contractors down for their bids, he sent me his bid in a timely manner. Not only that, HIS BID WAS COMPETITIVE with the other 2 estimates I obtained and more importantly, HE AGREED TO PUSH BACK OTHER JOBS to accommodate our roof project... it was an emergency since our roof was actively leaking! We had to wait a week or so for the weather to warm up to start the project due to the manufacturers recommendation. Shawn really listened, because he knew my wife and I were very worried about the leaks and we had bad weather coming. So two days later he came out with one of his guys and patched our roof. That day after the patch job, we had a big rainstorm and were able to sleep through the night. It was the first time we hadn't worried about our home getting additional water damage in several weeks. We were really nervous leading up to the project because firstly, it's such a big financial commitment, and second, we didn't want to have to deal with any roof issues going forward for a really long time. The days leading up to the install, I was frequently texting Shawn with questions as well as requests for colors and materials I preferred for the re-roof. HE WAS ALWAYS QUICK TO GET BACK TO ME with answers and to confirm the changes to my order and NEVER GAVE THE IMPRESSION I WAS BOTHERING HIM. When the project got delayed a couple days due to the weather, Chuck from his office kept me updated. Big shoutout to Chuck! His project manager got sick the first day of the install so Shawn showed up to make sure everything got started without any problems. HIS CREW WAS WELL STAFFED, EFFICIENT, AND FINISHED THE JOB IN 2 DAYS. They came back on the 3rd day to do a quality check without me asking. For anyone who has coordinated renovation work on their home in any capacity, you know how rare it is to have a truly professional experience with a contractor. We are thrilled with the job Whalen Exteriors did!

I lived in a Rockwel Realty property for 1.5 years in the Pittsburgh area. My overall experience…read moreunfortunately was not great due to the poor experience I had with having to sublet my share of the lease. The process to sublet starts with paying 1/3rd of total rent in order for them to begin the paperwork. Then the paperwork for the subleaser is complex, time-consuming, and requires things such as 3 years of tax documents, credit check, background check, and proof of income. In addition, if one person on the lease sublets then none of the other people on the lease are able to sublet during the remainder of the lease period. I was informed over the phone that there was no security deposit due for the subleaser. I asked this multiple times because I wanted to make sure I had this very important detail correct. When I finally found a subleaser who completed the paperwork and was approved, at the very end they requested a security deposit to be paid that day. I felt awful for my subleaser since I told him that there was no security deposit due. This was incredibly unprofessional on their end and caused complications on my end. In addition, the phone customer service representative of Rockwel Realty was unprofessional, rude, and impatient. It's a shame really because I thought the property itself was decent for the price. I would never recommend renting a property through Rockwel Realty, especially if you plan on subletting at some point in time. Not a good company.

In addition, the open plan kitchen was great except they didn't seal the brick so on a weekly basis we were cleaning pans of mortar that was falling from the walls. As far as the mice go, we killed about 2 dozen on or own despite constant complaints. This was the common theme, complaints were rarely acknowledged.

We rented an apartment for one year, and while living there we didn't have many issues, aside from having to call them multiple times to fix things. When we moved out, we made sure that everything was meticulously clean, because we really needed our security deposit back. But they refused to return most of the deposit, hitting us with charges that were totally unreasonable. The deposit was also returned to us late (slipped into our mailbox with no postmark, after the 30 day due date required by law). We took them to small claims court to try and get our money back, but we unfortunately lost. At court, Ron King (who we had never even met before in person) was very dismissive and rude to us. We were left with a very bad impression of Wylie Holdings. From talking to others we know who have rented from them, we know it's not the first time they have done something like this. We just wanted everyone to be aware, especially if you are currently renting from them.
