The cause…read moreof the issue was to be resolved with a new oil pan gasket, a cheap part, but a lot of labor($270) due to it being tough to access. I approved the work, and understood the labor costs. The work was done, and the oil leak slowed down, but did not stop. I took the vehicle to my regular mechanic for servicing, and mentioned the oil leak. He checked it out and found the pan was dented and damaged from a chisel being used to pry apart the two pieces. He also showed me a bunch of silicon type sealant that was spread on top on the the old deteriorating gasket. He cleaned the sealant off and tried to straighten the pan. North Metro stated the sealant was possibly from the factory, which isn't true. It was oozing out the side of the pan, and was clearly had not been there 10 years. The oil pan has never been opened, and 2005 Honda Accords came with an oil pan gasket. North Metro is the first shop to touch the oil pan. After stopping in a the location and making a follow up phone call, I was told that they did the work they were hired to do. There are many reputable shops in the area and you would be much better served going there. These guys were new to East Bethel and I decided to give them a shot, big mistake.
