I have moved around the cities a lot but I still drive to Eagan to see Dr. Bjerke. The entire office has been with him for a long period of time. I feel that if the employees stay that says a lot. I have had a lot of ups and downs and I feel he really tries to recommend options to give you a choice in the cost you have to spend. He never is pushy with any sales. Tells you what needs to be done, make recommendations and the decision is yours. After 40 years with Dr. Bjerke, when he retires it will be difficult to find a new dentist. His first office manager was great. She started out as a hygienist and then took the office manager position. She retired I was sad. I have been reading some of the other reviews. I see most of the reviews are complaints regarding the office manager that came on board about 10 years ago. I agree with their comments. She can be snarky, rude, unfriendly and in my opinion has an off putting personality. However, the dental staff and Dr. Bjerke are not like that at all. It is too bad that she is the first person people see. It doesn't do the office Justus. Any way a patient for 40 years overall I have been very please with the treatment I have received.

At my last years' appointment I was given the full series of x-rays, so I was surprised when they informed me that I needed X-rays again this year. I informed them that I did not want X-rays again. (Note: most insurances that I have had do not allow x-rays in such a short time period. I presently am not insured.) I was then informed that they would not treat me. I have never before heard of a dentist who would refuse service. I have always paid my bill upon completion of service. They just wanted to add on an unnecessary service and give me more unnecessary radiation. This does not seem like an ethical business practice.

Major shout out to Jenna, who went out of her way to welcome me, learn about my needs/anxieties, and make sure that I felt at home and safe. She even offered local recommendations since I'm newer to the area. My favorite part of the visit was that they offered a menu of items to make me feel more comfortable in the chair! I chose a stress ball for this visit, but might choose additional items on future cleanings! Why not make it feel like a spa visit? HUGE shout-out to my hygienist, Eriel!! She was probably one of the best hygienists I've ever had. She was non-judgemental, sweet, kind, explanatory, and made sure I was doing well and comfortable throughout the visit. We had great conversation, and I felt like she had genuine interest in making sure I was in a good spot. I'd highly recommend her! Dr. Heidi Smith, was also very friendly and helpful during my exam! Lastly, I think they did an amazing job of being upfront and honest about cost throughout my visit. Anything not covered by insurance was very clearly articulated and I felt like I had full control of whether or not I said yes or no to the options.
