Giant Tiger is a discount stores that sells pretty much everything from clothing, house hold items, food, books and gifts. It's similar to a Zellers but on a much smaller scale. Granted. not everything is top of the line quality and you really have to look through their stock, but sometimes it's worth taking the time. I'm impressed with the kids clothing and accessories as they carry brand names that I currently use - kuddos in my books. Some of the mens and womens clothing is questionable, but it's not the place to buy your wardrobe basics but is a decent place to get the trendy things you know you'll wear for this season and want something new for the next. The household section has a good offering and college students - heads up - it's a good place to get your dorm room outfitted. They have decent bedroom sets and decor items. Their curtains is something that caught my eye as they are reasonably priced and are of reasonable quality. Let's face it, you'll want to redecorate you're area after 5 or so years and don't want to feel guilty for putting away the ultra-expensive curtains you bought. The food section is very small but if you forgot milk, cheese or the like you can pick it up here. The packaged and non-perishable foods are price well and worth stocking up on. They have a small area of toys, which of course is the first draw for kids. They have brand name items so I feel better looking through and buying here. Of course like any place you buy toys you need to really what quality and let's face it, large toy store sell crap too. Giant Tiger is a fun place to poke through and you may find some treasures to take home.

With so many Hallmark locations in Edmonton now closed, it's great that the WEM and Southgate Mall stores are still here. These two locations have become the last reliable places in the city to find quality cards, gifts, Keepsakes, and those nostalgic items Hallmark is known for. The WEM store really carries that comforting mix of tradition and thoughtful merchandise.When I worked in Manulife Bldg I regularly stopped and shopped at then Hallmark in Edm City Centre which sadly closed!! Maybe they are thinking it's a good strategy for their overpriced gifts and to compete with another card store that often has buy one get one 50% off. I noticed the table at the front with albums including ones for baby, and wedding. They would make a great gift and many were marked down at least 30-40% off the ticketed price. I found a premade baby scrapbook which would be ideal for a new mom as she wouldn't have time to scrapbook and could just slap photos on pages already with embellishments and could add the stickers to it. When I went to pay for the album, it was cheaper than the ticketed sale price, yay! I like taking a look at the Christmas ornaments and if you plan on getting one for yourself or a friend, you may want to nab it months before as they can sell out of the popular ones. I have waited until after and the selection is slim but 40-50% off is a more reasonable price if you don't mind putting it on your tree after the day. I'm also a fan of their Peanuts collection. I have the talking Peanut characters they put out for Christmas a few years ago and the prices were good. I bring them out every December and they still talk. If I need a card for any occasion or a holiday gift, I'll be back to check out the selection.

Be prepared for that and if you don't like crowds then defo go early. Inside the displays are great, everyone is in good spirits and the sheer amount of Halloween stuff is totally overwhelming. Really you could spend a fortune in here but all I needed were bear ears so I tried to be fast. Couldn't help enjoying the live DJ and some of the over fun ideas for outfits. I have never had these worries at Black Gold Gallery and Frame. The owner is a lovely woman who is friendly but content to leave you to browse if you tell her you are just looking. A little known fact about this place also is if you are a Bradford exchange fan they will place an order for you if you see something you like on the website and will do it through their own account which is great if online shopping makes you uncomfortable or you don't have a credit card. Just make sure you have at least half the money to put down on your purchase and they will call you when it arrives. They were very understanding with me the last time I made a purchase and it took me three days to get to Leduc to actually pick it up. I only received one extra reminder phone call and not once was I ever accused of trying to flake out on paying them the other half of the money. These folks have been around since 1993 and with great selection and unbeatable customer service it is easy to see why. If you are in the Leduc area and looking to add to the decor of your home make sure to give this great small business a look and I promise you will not be disappointed.
