RE: Returned costume with cigarette burn…read more I have dealt with Christy and Tessa for a few years now and their journey to their current location on the southside. I have been an enthusiastic, repeat customer. I always have a fun time coming into the store and letting my imagination have its way. For Halloween, I rented an authentic 1970's era polyester tuxedo. I wore it with confidence and had a blast. Upon return, we realised there was a cigarette burn in the middle of the back of the suit jacket. I was surprised and shocked as I did not recall this damage. I took responsibility for the burn and was hoping for a reasonable solution to this surprise and difficult to fix damage. I was very happy with the negotiated outcome to a fair price for me to purchase this item which was no longer in a rentable condition. It was clearly ruined and the damage occurred under my care. After checking with a few of the premium suit manufacturers in Edmonton, I was referred by Harry Rosen to Maple Tailors. The repair was nearly invisible and at an excellent repair cost. I am now the proud owner of an excellent quality tuxedo. I will highly recommend Theatre Garage for excellent and authentic costume rentals and purchases. The owners are highly dedicated to their craft and in supporting local functions and businesses which is refreshing from all of the inferior quality products being sold at discount and chain retailers. My suggestion is to talk to these ladies (Christy, Tessa, and staff) ... they are authentic and committed to offering unique services and products to the Edmonton region. Thanks again, ds

From the moment we walked in, Ayaan greeted us with a warm smile and incredible enthusiasm. My son can be very indecisive (especially when faced with so many amazing options), but Ayaan was endlessly patient, kind, and truly knowledgeable about every product we asked about. He took the time to learn what my son liked, offered thoughtful suggestions, and never once rushed the process. It was clear he genuinely cared about making the experience special for us. Thanks to Ayaan's expert guidance, we found the perfect birthday gift--and more importantly, my son left the store beaming with excitement. On top of that, the store itself was spotless, organized, and welcoming. You can tell the team takes pride in keeping everything in top shape, which only adds to the overall experience. We walked in as customers, but we're leaving as lifelong fans. Mastermind Toys, you've got two new customers for life--and Ayaan, thank you for being such a wonderful person and making our day so memorable!

Had to follow up more than once to see if they actually had plans to ship us our item, and were eventually notified that they're not sending it, but only after hounding them. We've always done our Christmas shopping here because our kids like to physically go in and make their lists, but we'll never go back. Done with these guys.

Keep in mind that it is good to order your balloon boquet ahead of time and if you bring in your own latex balloons, they will charge you $1.00 to fill each one so you might as well just purchase their balloons. As far as party supplies go - they have a wide assortment of themes and products. This is my go to place for looking for that specialty item to match my party. That being said, I do find their prices for party supplies to be double to triple that of identical items as a dollar store. Based upon pricing, I give Great Canadian Dollar & Party Store a 4 star rating - If I were only rating them on selection, it would be a 5 star review hands down!

I was greeted by Wonder Woman (it was Halloween) and she was very friendly and helpful. She let me browse the store without pressure (which I really appreciate because some stores can put a lot of pressure on you to purchase). Other than Christmas decorations, Jilly's a bit of everything! There is clothing in the back (it's very expensive though - so expensive I almost choked on my gum). They also have numerous home decor items, candles, bath and soap products, they have a lot of stuff. The sale section towards the back of the store drew me in immediately (it had purses). I really liked Jilly's. I will be going back to shop soon!

I had a chance to run in here last month while my daughter was at ski lessons and what a treat! Books were on clearance for $1 that day! YES - $1 books! Came home with a giant bag filled with books to overfill our already filled bookshelves! But hey, since when could one have too many books? Once Upon a Child is HANDS DOWN the best consignment store chain for used children's clothing and accessories. I've frequented them in Edmonton for several years now and even visited one in Saskatoon! You can drop off your gently used clothing and toys to trade in for store credit if you'd like as well. They offer a frequent purchaser stamp card to earn discounts and usually have coupons in the SUTP coupon book. They are on facebook and have an e-mail list if you would like advance notice for upcoming sales and specials! They also carry new items like Melissa & Doug at prices below what you would find at Toys R Us. Once Upon A Child is most definitely a dream come true for frugal shoppers who know that a baby outfit may get worn once or not at all!

I like shopping at Giant Tiger! Call me crazy, but I do!…read more Giant Tiger is just one of the stores I stop in each time I go shopping for produce because it's located right beside H&W. Giant Tiger is a discount stores that sells pretty much everything from clothing, house hold items, food, books and gifts. It's similar to a Zellers but on a much smaller scale. Granted. not everything is top of the line quality and you really have to look through their stock, but sometimes it's worth taking the time. I'm impressed with the kids clothing and accessories as they carry brand names that I currently use - kuddos in my books. Some of the mens and womens clothing is questionable, but it's not the place to buy your wardrobe basics but is a decent place to get the trendy things you know you'll wear for this season and want something new for the next. The household section has a good offering and college students - heads up - it's a good place to get your dorm room outfitted. They have decent bedroom sets and decor items. Their curtains is something that caught my eye as they are reasonably priced and are of reasonable quality. Let's face it, you'll want to redecorate you're area after 5 or so years and don't want to feel guilty for putting away the ultra-expensive curtains you bought. The food section is very small but if you forgot milk, cheese or the like you can pick it up here. The packaged and non-perishable foods are price well and worth stocking up on. They have a small area of toys, which of course is the first draw for kids. They have brand name items so I feel better looking through and buying here. Of course like any place you buy toys you need to really what quality and let's face it, large toy store sell crap too. Giant Tiger is a fun place to poke through and you may find some treasures to take home.

I grabbed another item for the exchange. Exactly what I wanted. I had a wee look around. I was shocked to see a whole shelf of brand new Winter boots. NEW!? They get new stock? Another thing that struck me was the clean, orderly, odour free stock. Lovely. At checkout, my line went very fast. A young, friendly cashier was just pumping it out. When the shopper in front of me needed the manager for a price check, I thought it was going to be a long, torturous wait. Not so. The manager cleared up the sale in record time with a smile. I also needed the manager to approve the exchange. He did it in seconds flat. What a nice guy. He even gave back my change in cash instead of a credit note like other V.V. stores. I saw this same manager working the registers and helping out like a manager is suppose to do. Even chasing after a Mom who dropped her diaper bag. I am shocked because I have been a frequent V.V shopper for many years and have avoided this store because it is in a sketchy part of town. I will not judge a book by it's cover any longer. The neighbouring Dollar Store is my next revue for the same reason.
