Wow! My son asked if we could visit a record store and an online search brought us here. I…read moreliterally stood in awe for minutes, taking it all in. I cannot imagine the time involved with organizing and sorting. To say it's impressive is a huge understatement! My son found a few records he'd been searching for, and I bought quite a few. Prices were more than fair and we were given a generous discount at time of purchase. It was fascinating to see so much out there that was new to me. Who knew? There's definitely something here for everyone, but without a doubt our highlight was in meeting the man behind this incredible music store, Ron. It's clear to see his passion for music, and I don't believe there will ever be another place like the one he's created. We spent 4hr flipping through records, and Ron offered to check inventory for anything specific we were unable to find. I was shocked he was able to electronically file this amount of inventory, especially when he knew he had one copy, not yet properly placed on the floor, of a record I wanted. He helped search and kept telling me "if it says I have one, I have one." I finally gave up and told him I'll leave it in God's hands. Five seconds later, Ron shouts "look what I found!" He got a giant hug from me and I told him he's My Hero. (He laughed and said it was luck.) There aren't enough people like Ron left in this world, and if you don't get out and meet him I can assure you it's your loss. I bought everything from Sinatra to Night Ranger and I praise Ron again for finding the Bryan Adams album I had my heart set on finding. I've got two sons with me today and we're currently taking the hour drive out to visit Ron and hopefully buy some records. I've told everyone I know about this amazing place and the man that left me smiling. My mom reminded me people aren't around forever, and said I'd better get out to see him again or I'll regret it because he sounds like a TRUE GEM. GO. BE IN AWE OF THE SHEER VOLUME. SEARCH.FIND.BUY. BE SURE TO TALK WITH RON. HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME, THEN TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO GIVE THIS MAN THEIR BUISNESS.

What fun to go in and experience Horizons Music. Massive selection, great to look at the music and…read morereminisce. Very helpful and found what I was looking for for a Christmas present. The value was great. Bring cash as you get an extra discount but they do take credit cards. Definitely worth stopping in.

The owners: Rick & Monica are truly a prayerful, knowledgeable, service oriented couple who will…read morecheerfully assist you in all your Catholic & Christian gifts and books as well as seasonal items. A fine smorgasbord of spiritual books, holy reminders such as pictures, statues, prayer cards, novena's, medals, rosaries, crucifix's, crosses, jewelry, auto emblems, scapular's, holy water containers and founts, pyxes, Bibles, Liturgy of the Hours, the monthly Magnificat, prayer booklets and much more. The statues are beautiful, not funky looking and distorted as has been carried by other stores. Also carried are Baptismal and Communion wear, Confirmation supplies, both teen and child spiritual books and items. Don't let the size of the store sway you... there is much to be seen at this store and what they don't have in stock at the time, they will gladly work with you to find the perfect gift from the many distributor's they formed relationships with over the years and have it for you in a timely manner. The owners care more about your spirituality than their pocketbook so items are kept affordable and reasonable. The all around best in the surrounding tri-county area for service, price and quality!

The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions or provide guidance and suggestions for items I want to purchase. I was warmly welcomed on my very first visit and every visit since. The owner has an incredible memory and asked after a close family member facing health challenges that I made some encouragement purchases for. Highly. . .HIGHLY recommend. Religious or not. . .just stop by to take in the warm, welcoming atmosphere.

I finally went here a few weekends ago, after wanting for ages to visit this store. Honestly this…read morestore was SO GREAT to browse, that I wish I had visited here sooner. And the prices are really great, as well. The owner(I forget his name) was really awesome to talk to, and explained a lot about the store to me. Including the record/band/artist reference book in the front, where those artist/band and album name books used to be periodically mailed out to his record store and other stores, by a certain company. Though from what he told me, that company stopped producing those reference books by the early 2000s, sadly to say. The unfortunate thing is that too many other Chicago record stores seem a little overpriced IMO for their used records, such as for example Rattleback Records in Andersonville(Chicago) and Rediscover Records(Elgin). I'm glad this store wasn't like that for being overpriced for used records, and actually OTOH was pretty affordable. Their prices for used CDs, DVDs, and tapes was decent, as well. Yes no doubt for some people this store may be slightly out of the way. But I'd say for darn sure if you do like browsing in a record store, you should visit here at least once in your life! I do like how the inside of this store still felt pretty old school in its inside look, as well. And probably little changed, from when(I think) it first opened in the 1970s.
