CBS Translation services is a translation firm that represents the Chicago we're proud of; they are extremely professional and competent, they work hard, they communicate well and often (hours, not days), and they get the work done. I am a U.S. citizen who lived & worked in mainland China for four years, then moved to Italy over the summer-autumn for a two-year Master's of Science program to which I had been accepted. Applying for a student visa at Chicago's Italian Consulate (the one in Shanghai forwarded me), for legal stay permit(s) in Italy as a resident alien (Permesso di soggiorno), and for financial aid via Italy's national, provincial, and municipal authorities, meant having my transcripts, degrees, and a slew of other papers translated, sometimes apostilled, et cetera etc. My situation is, in short, impossible. I first used CBS about a year ago (August and September 2018), having my work contracts and housing documents translated from Mandarin Chinese into Italian and my university transcripts from U.S. English into Italian. I got the visa. They will combine pages of your documents to save space and keep your costs down, they can do rush orders with a one-day TAT (turn-around time), and so on. They don't get thrown by the challenges of legal phrasing, and they instinctively preserve the formatting of the originals you give them, so it's easy to compare the translation to the original. CBS Translations also has some delivery flexibility. Services can be expensive (~$80+ per page), but their prices are very reasonable, and the costs are minor when weighed against the future they enable. I think CBS Translations' staff is composed not just of expert linguists, but of veterans of international affairs, and that's exactly the kind of team I need: the best and brightest. My Italian is quite good, and my Chinese is decent, so I can look over their work and see it is thorough and accurate to my purpose. I don't translate all these things myself because I'm already stretched too thin, and I could make a costly mistake - one must know one's limits. I'm using CBS Translations' services again now (late August 2019) as I renew many of my permissions throughout the Italian bureaucracy, for my second year. Ms. Jasmine is still one of the contacts you may hear from, which shows they retain talent. Personally, if you need translations done ONCE, go with CBS Translations. read more

I was in need of a translation of my mothers Polish death certificate to English. Doing such things is always emotional. From the very start, after a quick search on line for a local business here in Chicago, I found CBS Translation. I called them to inquire about my needs and found them very accommodating as I wanted to do this without the need to come into their offices and to feel comfortable sending such information. The voice on the phone was friendly and made me feel confident. After sending them by a PDF file I received a quote within an hour. The quote is very reasonable and the typical cost of such a service. I did some research about this and asking around. I paid the fee and then within two days received a translated version for me to approve by email from Eileen Owens. It was exactly correct and after another two days the official certified translation arrived in my inbox. I also requested a paper copy which was sent the same day I received the online version. They are great, speedy and completely reliable and professional and would recommend them to anyone in need of such services. Alexandra J. read more

All around exceeded expectations, got the exact result we wanted. High quality and still low cost provider. Our experience with CBS compared to a previous service we used: My girlfriend had a very important immigration hearing and needed a Thai interpreter (This is difficult to find a company with a NATIVE Thai speaker. We used another translation service before and the interpreter was Laotian and her spoken Thai was very difficult for my girlfriend to understand). With CBS, we set the appointment up with one phone call and a couple of quick emails. The interpreter (a Thai native) arrived early enough to have a consultation and review the evidence we were to present to the immigration officer. She was professional, courteous, and spoke perfect English as well as Thai. The hearing went well and the case was approved! Also, CBS has a 2 hr minimum, where as other services we contacted had 3 hour minimums, so it was a money saver for our purposes (most immigration hearings are under 2 hours). Highly recommend! read more

I highly recommend CBS Translation Services. The prices are affordable and their work is professional, they communicate well, respond fast, and also are very kind and helpful. They are also adaptable if any sort of concern or need should come up. If I ever needed another thing translated, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. This was my first time getting anything translated and I was hesitant to use any type of translation services, however, the people at CBS exceeded my expectations in every possible way. If you are going through reviews considering getting a translation and see this, I recommend giving them a call if you have any questions. If not, go through the process of a quote on their site and giving them a chance. They respond very quickly and also have a great turnaround time. I am sure that you will be as pleased and blown away as I am. I also left this review on google, but am posting it again here because I cannot recommend them enough. read more

I requested a quote from CBS translation for about 72 pages worth of documents in Spanish, some of which included bank statements, certificates, and other documents. They were always very quick to respond any questions I had via email, were quick to give me a quote (which was the best one from the different places I inquired around) and were quick to deliver the documents despite the overwhelming amount of papers. They sent me everything to check before they notarized it and officially sent it to me, and they informed me that any changes that may need to occur will gladly be taken care of after I receive my documents as well. Very kind and quick! read more

From the very first time I inquired about my need for translating with CBS Translation Services, they were super professional and friendly and dealt with me in such a timely manner. I received response to my email inquiry almost immediately. What I appreciated the most was the fact that they explained every step in perfect clarity and sent it for review. Plus, they didn't ask me to pay in advance and were fast!!! Ms. Jasmine was awesome in communicating all that was needed. I learned about CBS Translation Services in the process of applying for foreign citizenship, and was stymied by the paucity of detailed communication from the government bureaucracy. I spoke with Kerem who explained, step-by-step and with invaluable detail, how I could proceed. If you need certified and notarized translation, or other such services, I recommend CBS Translation Services, as I have already done to members of my family who are engaged in related matters. read more

Prompt and efficient, high quality product including seals and trying to keep as much as possible the original format of the document that I originally provided. Jasmine who took care of my translation was extremely cordial and rapid in responding to my emails regarding last minute changes. They delivered the product as stated in 3 days and sent me a pdf as soon as it was ready for me to use it. Greatly recommended. Luis P. read more

After doing a little research, I chose CBS translation because the price was reasonable for a certified AND notarized translation. Moreover, I got it very fast thanks to a really kind customer service. My only suggestion is to improve their payment methods. Although I was told that they are on their way to let clients pay through their website which would be really helpful and convenient. read more

I communicated with CBS over emails. Very responsive. The quote provided is reasonable, and based on the actual amount of translation needed, not per page( the document I sent is bilingual in quite a portion of the content). Quick turnaround time. I picked it up in their CHI office, though missing a second copy I ordered, but was able to get it on site within 10 mins. read more
