After owning for 23 years, I decided to rent a home and wait to buy for a bit. I am seasoned…read morerealtor and my standards are high with anyone I hire or any home I might buy. Sure enough, I run into trouble with my landlord. They rented it to me as dry finished basement, then I come to discover it floods in numerous places in every heavy rain. Huge disappointment since using basement factored into my plans as musician and dad. Since I am realtor, I then looked at old listings and photos on the MLS and found the landlord knew this happens and took steps to hide it. Landlord would not fix it nor would they accept any reduction in rent, so that is where Charles Drennan comes in. First his reputuation as best tenants right lawyer carries weight when dealing with landlord lawyers. He used his skills and reputation to help put together a deal that reflected a reduction in rent and gave me right to leave whenever I choose, so I can play the market and perhaps find something sooner than when lease expires. I had an idea that I was entitled to mitigate my rent, but having it in writing as legal agreement gave me peace of mind. Paying his $600 fee saved me $2,400m quite a bargain. Charles is the guy you want if your landlord won't repair stuff, is trying to evict you, or harass you in any way. Getting notices from landlords is stressful, don't wait until your problems mount, just hire Chicago Tenants Rights Law. Insider tip: If you want his attention, I would call, email, and text all at once and he'll get back with yo promptly.

I called their hotline about an issue with my lease renewal. They gave me really useful advice.read more

Is she still in business? The very best thing about Craig is her location is right across from Cook…read moreCounty Courthouse. She tried to handle my divorce in 2007 but was not getting anywhere and uber $$$$, so I left her to go to her less pricey associate, Ava, who got me locked out of my home for a long time (which at least then I did not have to pay bills from my bully husband who at the time had already taken $50K from the home equity and all of our investment accounts, so why I had to pay bills when he changed locks, no idea) but then nothing was happening for months and I did not even have my clothing or anything from my home that I jointly owned. So, I went to a different law firm and finished my divorce there. Craig served me papers at the elementary school I taught at to pay the remainder of her $$$$ bill, and I talked to her on the phone. We came to a number, and I paid her off. Avoid, in my opinion. I mean, ARDC does not recommend and says she's not authorised to practice law since 2015 because she's not in compliance with something called MCLE. But, hey, she is entertaining--big personality. However, for a divorce with no kids, she sure charged a lot....and then I had to pay another attorney. Total cost: $40K so try to work it out without lawyers or choose ones that are $200-250 an hour, is my advice.

You go in, she makes you think she is helpful, friendly, and for you, then she does nothing. She played around with my simple divorce for over 2 years that I ended up completing myself in court. She was paid $6000 and now she wants $8000 more, so that will make a total of $14,000 for a divorce with no property or children????? On top of that she is taking me to court and suing me and trying to garnish my wages for the balance of $8000.00 but I plan on fighting back....DO NOT USE!!!!!!!!!
