Paid for rush service ($270 - 3 service attempts)) to serve a 30 day notice (over a 6 day period…read moregoing into a weekend) to evict persons living in a probate estate home. Server stuck a copy of the notice in the door on second attempt because he "saw rubbish" outside and assumed they had moved. With that inexperienced and stupid attempt he basically told the occupants what he was doing. (I was told by the office that he had 10 years with the company) Three attempts means three attempts, lousy or not. The same night my client heard from a third party in communication with the occupants that they had found the notice (not legal service). I emailed the company THAT NIGHT and told them what had happened. The server had gone out the third time the next morning prior to the company contacting him. The entire time of the contract, it took the office HOURS to contact the server (they told ME this) They gave me one more service attempt because they had admitted they screwed up. The server saw lights on and heard voices inside but (surprise) they wouldn't open the door. For the last three days of the service period, I emailed the company for status without response approximately 10 times. When I called, they told me that they received the emails, and were waiting for their server to respond. I've been practicing law 30 years and have used many companies for service of process. This company had no plan on how you serve an individual, made fatal errors, and had poor communication both internally and with the client. I wouldn't use MSI to serve a notice to a child's teacher that they were sick that day, let alone anything important. Without any doubt among the worst in the Chicago area. Stay away and don't waste your money. ----- Regarding the owner's response below, it is utter nonsense. I sent these guys to serve notice on a vacant house for $270? The owner is lying. I told them three people lived there. They were sent there to serve notice, not to make a judgment call on occupancy? Oh, and do people ever leave a house? Their server left a notice in the door, effectively rendering any future attempts futile. The woman in their office admitted it, that's why they gave me an extra attempt. It wasn't a "courtesy" attemp. They screwed up. You have a weekend job and you don't communicate with the client? That's poor business practice. As far a suggestions. YOU MADE NONE except a stakeout which given your track record would be a waste of time and money.. I emailed 6 times Monday morning for status, and called when you didn't answer. Hey man. I know it's painful to get a bad review. But you should suck it up and try to get better instead of lying on Yelp. You have a poorly run business.

We needed several estate-planning documents notarized, and it can be surprisingly hard to find a notary who handles everything--signing, stamping, witnesses--efficiently and professionally. Here, it was seamless. Service & Experience *Appointment scheduling was smooth and flexible *Quick responses to initial questions about pricing, witnesses, and requirements *They provided all necessary witnesses on-site *The full notarization process took less than 30 minutes *Pricing was very reasonable given the number of documents we had What Sets Them Apart *Excellent customer service--fast, clear communication from start to finish *Clean, professional setup that makes the process feel easy and stress-free *They also offer apostille services, which is a huge convenience. Instead of navigating government offices downtown or waiting at limited DMV locations, you can simply make an appointment here and get it done without the hassle. Verdict Express Apostille & Notary Services makes a traditionally inconvenient process unbelievably smooth. Great communication, efficient service, reasonable pricing, and the convenience of both notary and apostille offerings in one place. Five stars and highly recommended for anyone needing document services in Chicago.

I called and left a voicemail, and received a return call from Ben within 30 minutes. He quoted me a reasonable fee to serve a complaint and summons on a corporation, I emailed him the documents, and asked for service within 5 business days. Service was complete in less than 2 business days, a very detailed notarized Affidavit of Service (including the name, title and physical description of the individual that was served) was in my email inbox when I arrived at work on the 4th business day, and when I asked for him to fill out an additional form he did so and returned it within an hour. All communication was very prompt, professional, and provided complete and accurate information. I've been in practice nearly two decades, so I have used a variety of process servers, and I was very impressed with Ben and Verify Investigations.

I have…read moreposted this review to advise others contemplating hiring this Notary Service, claiming to be a process server, against doing so. Let my $200.00 be a free lesson for you! There was a time in the past, when a Former Detective was part of the corporation, that competent people were employed herein. This appears no longer to be the case. The young lady, a notary, is preoccupied far too often to even be held to account. Let alone who she leaves in charge, as she tends to the voluminous tasks that require her attention outside of the state of Illinois. On top of that she speaks before she thinks about what is going to proceed from her mouth. Simply put what I received as proof of Service of Process, upon two (2) banking institutions in Clark County IL, cannot be filed in any Court within the USA. In fact the notarized document {Federal Proof of Service} states on it's face it is NOT to be Filed with the Court. Let my loss be your gain and take your Jobs elsewhere but do not employ this Notary to Service anything. Tina Hogan wrote [look at all the years since a review has been posted for Richard the earlies was 6 years ago] her response as the old bird {Richard} is busy dying by stroke, in a different state, and that is what she told me! Which is why she cried broke "oh they reached into my bank account" when I filed the chargeback/dispute I pity her poverty. The BBB of Chicago IL is looking for her to answer a few questions. Tell me does the attached documents even come close to resembling Affidavits of Service of Process? Come on lets be real. The last two docs I received back today a Summons [2 weeks after she claimed to have served process] in the envelope I paid postage on without any indication service of process was had (no date, time, place nor servers' "initials") but the final photo of that second document clearly says do not file and apparently one of her professional investigators couldn't read and absolutely made a mess of things. As for texts and emails {I don't have time to count all the requests she had of me seeking the laws regarding how to serve process on at least two occasions, and I retain them all) nor count her frivolous communications. Rather I produce the actual docs, not unevidenced words and assertions take a look at her top line "dance" these are the Notary's words. I simply paid the $200 demanded {remember I paid before she does Anything}. I pity the fool that doesn't look at my $200.00 loss and take heed. She is a (disabled) person sitting around Notarizing Documents. Her dad is dying, he was the Richard in the Corporation. Simply pitiful. Recall she has absolutely nothing into it. Whereas I have far more just in filing fees then she is crying about let alone the time involved in writing a lawful and legal claim which by the way she was also supposed to serve discovery along with the complaint. In a word - INCOMPETENT. The old guy can build it and the child simply tears it down!

He went away for family business over thanksgiving. I contacted him the Monday after and he told me he'd contact me the following day. Never heard from him again. No return phone calls. No return emails. Nothing! Since the posting of my ONE STAR review on Thumbtack, Larry Ryan negated my review saying I'm not credible and never a client. You're right I wasn't a client because Brad blew me off! Your office staff blew me off! Larry Ryan why don't you ask Brad to forward the November email and the email after I left my ONE STAR review for your firm that he sent me. He blamed your office office staff for not contacting me. The only contacted active clients and not new or prospective clients. Too bad for you. I had a big job and gave it to someone else. There was pending litigation on behalf of my autistic son. The urgency of my requested was expressly communicated to Brad Weaver in our November phone conversation. Your firms lack of response and communication about Brad's personal issues hindered the progression of my case and pushed it back an additional two months. Communication was all I needed, and I couldn't get that. Maybe instead of lying about a bad review, man up and be accountable for your unprofessional office staff. Word of advice: Look elsewhere for a REPUTABLE private investigator!
