From the minute we walked in, we were greeted promptly and seated at our reservation time. They even had handbag clips to put on the edge of the table so we didn't have to put our purses on the floor - loved that! Everything we ordered tasted so good! We got the Rice Paper Tacos as appetizers. They came out looking like art on a plate and they were very gracious to tell us that there's not a wrong way to eat it. I got the Korean BBQ Beef as my entree and it hit the spot! My friend got the Modern Tuna Nicoise as her entree and it looked too pretty to eat, but she said it was delicious! For dessert we got the Passion Fruit Panna Cotta. It was the best way to end the night. We enjoyed our meals and the service was top-notch! Ambiance was nice-we sat in the outdoor area and they had a nice simple table display with a small table lamp that I was intrigued by. I'd never seen one so small but what I liked about it was that it didn't take up space on the table. Usually, the displays take up more space than the food sometimes, so I appreciate the little details. If you've never been to Betty on Burke-you must! I was very pleased with my experience and will definitely come back. PS- they validate parking so you don't have to pay the 3rd party parking system in their lot- HUGE plus!

I asked for a taste of all three white wines. I had trouble deciding. I landed on the Sauvignon blanc which was yummy. Chenin blanc and Chardonnay were great too. I had the chicken stacker salad. It was even part tostada and lettuce. Flavor was good. Not overly dressed. The chicken was a little chewy. Would love to come back!

I ordered food all three times and each time the taste seemed to have improved. The first time I got the Caprese and it was very dry. It literally had three ingredients in it, I think the cheese just was too cold and didn't do it for me while on the contrary, the sourdough bread was very burnt and the entire sandwich was just very dry and disappointing. If you want a good safe option, the short rib melt Is really good. The drinks at the bar are also really good. I will also note the ambiance is amazing, I love the way they decorated everything and I feel like it's really fitting for such a historical place, everything seemed very niche and clean which I admired. I will say the service from Lauren Stone was amazing. She was great, she was very kind and held conversation with myself and my boyfriend and recommended and made some really good drinks. The service is really what tops the overall experience. If someone is very genuine and upfront, there's not much that they can't come back from. There's lots of redeeming qualities in a restaurant through people that have humility and really seem to care in my book so I will say this place is honestly a must try.

The bartender was incredibly friendly, and the cocktails were spot on. They offer a classy lineup of seasonal drinks along with a great overall selection. I went with an Old Fashioned and my wife ordered the Kringle's Espresso Martini. Both were excellent. The vibe inside is cozy and stylish, with different little nooks and corners that make the place feel unique. The large outdoor patio is just as inviting, especially on a beautiful day like today. We didn't try the food this time, but the sandwiches, soups, and salads coming out around us looked fantastic, and people had great things to say about them. Looking forward to trying some food next time. All around, this is a great place to relax with friends or family while enjoying the Village.

We sat outside for dinner and had an amazing culinary experience. The heater was on just right, the food was amazing, and the service was great. Responsive but not too pushy. We started with the bread service and it blew us both away. The breads were all so flavorful (and we're a sourdough family). It was on another level. The spreads were fantastic and he even enjoyed an olive tapenade even though he's not an olive guy. For dinner we got steak frites and a fish special that had a crab beurre blanc sauce. Both were fantastic, and we'd order them again in a heartbeat. The price for a great experience like that was totally affordable. We've paid more and received less. So get here and enjoy yourself! These were truly the most flavorful things on the menu and they set this restaurant apart from all others so it's extremely disappointing. The new chef from French Laundry (or so I was told) changed their bruschetta and bruschetta and now it's mostly greasy and has very little balsamic. Their French Onion soup is still delicious with a flavorful broth and nicely melted cheese. It's a very narrow old building so seating on either side is not very comfortable, but we have stayed to hear a set from a jazz band that was enjoyable.

The drinks are good and priced consistent with Winston-Salem. The inside is rather small but there is a patio/lounge area with a firepit. Most times I have been it was free to get in but when they have special DJ nights, entrance is usually $10. Glad there is somewhere to go downtown to dance to non-country music! you have to walk into the dance area to get to the restroom (just like Joyners) but the inside has a dark vibe with some tables that light up and the alcohol wall at the bar is a masterpiece. There are seats behind the DJ table and I'm not sure why that area isn't used; the whole building can probably hold 60 people dancing at the same time. But all-in-all, it's a lively place, and yes, it gets happening after midnight, as to be expected when there is a DJ in the house. Just walk to Euphoria after you see a show at Ramkat or Wise Man and dance till dawn! (not really but at least 2am)

However, the quality of the performance more than made up for it. There were a lot of specialty drinks available, but I just opted for some sodas. Service at the bar was friendly and they were making their way through the line quickly. The energy in the space was good and it seemed like a true music lover's haven. One challenge I had was that there didn't seem to be any seating options for general admission. Even offering a couple of off-to-the-side seats for a rest would be handy, since staying on your feet for a few hours straight can get a little tiring. Perhaps that was a possiblity and I missed it. There was seating in the VIP sections though and the price differential didn't seem too dramatic. Seriously, no bad view in the place due to the venue being so small. I'd absolutely recommend checking out a show here!
