Ordered a Olympus DS-7000 digital dictaphone system (top of the range machine) at the best possible price from cbccomputers. Their description in the title said 'no software' and at the end of the description in brackets 'no speech recognition software included'.
In box contents, however, it said that included was Olympus Dictation Management Software and DSS for Mac.
Delivery from their distributor was swift (48 hours) after ordering.
However, the disc/s containing the Olympus Dictation Management Software and DSS for Mac were not included. I have spoken to them today and they were very helpful on the phone, saying that they acknowledged the error and that they would contact the manufacturer (Olympus) to ensure the software was sent out to me.
So I'm waiting for a phone call tomorrow to hear what they have to say. I have saved a copy of the web page description of what I ordered to be on the safe side.
Let's see and I will let update my review. So far, mixed feelings as I feel I've paid good money (nearly £400) for a top end machine and haven't been sent what I ordered, but they appear to be trying to help.
Okay, 48 hours later now and yesterday, I was told by cbc that it was their error and that they would honour their item description and send a new machine out with the software included, no extra charge. Their customer service adviser was fantastic (Gemma a credit to the company).
She arranged for the new dictaphone to be delivered today (already arrived and correct btw) and for the old one to be picked up. All within 48 hours! And the icing on the cake, she arranged it for today because I pointed out I was at work tomorrow and the long bank holiday was coming up with the Queen's jubilee.She even emailed me confirmation.
Okay cbc, 5 stars for customer service, but 3 because you got it wrong at the start with the item description, so 4 stars overall. Credit where it's due. read more
