The customer service here is just amazing! I had purchased a slat bed from this location 3 years ago and unfortunately two weeks ago I broke a few of the slats on accident. I then went looking online to find replacement slats but discovered that replacement was not so easy. So on a whim I called CB2 where I had purchased the bed and asked if they could see if their vendor had replacement slats. The sales associate took my name and number and then looked into the request. And to my amazement they were able to get me the replacement slats. All they needed was me to confirm my address, and now they are on the way. I was not charged shipping or anything. I am so happy and delighted with the outcome that I had to write this review. On January 24th I placed an order online and requested to cancel the order within 2 hours by contacting customer service. Three days later I had received no response and sent another request to confirm that I would receive a refund. Customer service responded that they apologize, that "as you can see we are a little behind" but that the order had just shipped. I was baffled that I would have to pay the return shipping once the order arrived, which was $82. The clad shelf arrived and was cheaply made, with a dent. I re-packaged the shelf and shipped it to the return warehouse as per instructions. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with an online retailer. It has been over 3 months and I have yet to see a return of my money or follow up from customer service. AVOID at all costs. read more

Wow. Incredibly awful customer service. I ordered an item over a month ago, never received it (though they charged me for it!), I contacted customer service TWICE about it and they couldn't figure out the problem. Meanwhile, the item went on sale. They WOULDN'T discount the item because it didn't fit in the 14 day window! AWFUL. Walked In June 19th 2017. Looked around the entire store (seeking specific living furniture) and several employees walked by. One continued to stack a display and organize as if I was not looking for assistance. Not "Once" was I asked was I looking for anything in particular or did I Need Assistance at all!! I've driven by this place countless times, always thinking to myself I need to go check them out. I had to buy some glasses for my sister as part of her Christmas gift so I stopped in to check it out. I was warmly greeted with hello and quickly did a spin around the place. Its not set up like a lot of places, but rather set up a little randomly. They have designed spaces set up to show off their wares, then they have other things along the wall. So pretty haphazardly a lot of cute home things all around. Stuff is decently priced in my eyes, though I have to admit, I wasn't looking closely at things, because I was just focused on gifts. CB2 is the young, hip, quirky offshoot of Crate and Barrel, one I never knew existed until arriving in Chi-town. I've always been a CB fan, but now I can actually do more than window shop for furniture. The selection is lovely, and I love the clean, modern, streamlined slant they do on everything. And it's not just furniture. There's great accessories for every part of your home, all at prices that are refreshing. Eh, it's ok. Most of the designs are from CB's very casual lower end... a little too funky/colorful for me. But, if you're into that style, this place is great. I don't think the prices are much lower than the regular CB store, and items are a bit cluttered. I would best describe it as CB on training wheels. I felt like I had ADHD walking in, and left with the same amount of confusion. I'd recommend going to the regular CB first and then stopping into this store if you didn't find anything. read more

I care about our economy. I seriously do. In an effort to help out businesses, I am not curbing my shopping habits one bit, no one single iota. My mother, who was visiting this week, seems to be taking the same approach. I do not think that the two of us can bump us out of the recession, but we CAN and WILL spend our $$$s. And, just a selfless offer-If you need help spending yours, you know who to call! So, we went perusing at CB2 yesterday, and I had to go back today to buy the things I could not buy in front of my mother! I LOVE their summer line! They have all sorts of great new bookcases that would fit about anywhere. I myself, and drawn to their accessories. I had to purchase some of their "flowers" for my collection of enormous vases. They are in muted autumn colors and match my home. They have these fantastic chrome bookends that are figures, pressing against the books- I want them- but decided to wait until I come back from DC. Their housewares are cool- but- I have yet to indulge. I have too many friends that have loaded their bridal registries with Crate and Barrel glasses and plates, and had them all be broken a year later. Since Crate and Barrel is the parent company- I am assuming the genes will hold true. BUT- the dishes are fantastic, and CHEAP! AWESOME glasses and plates. If I were throwing a quick dinner party and needed some modern ware- I would stop here to buy it! I agree with one of the other reviewers, I do not care for their linens or fabrics. Most of the furniture is too modern for me- but there is one set... The patio chairs and table to the left of the door- chrome top, reflective (almost prisms)- IT is sooo me. If you are desperately searching for a birthday present (Ya know, it is coming up in a couple of months!)- please, scoop it up. If you are thinking chairs- go for the chrome and grey! CB2 is the type of store you would get if you crossed Crate and Barrel and Ikea. More modern than Crate and Barrel, not as cheap as Ikea. Overall pretty cool concept and items, but if they want to throw their hat into the Ikea ring, the prices need to be a bit more competitive. read more

I would normally give this store 4 stars, as the price for some of their items is a bit much. However, every time I enter the store, the staff is always so helpful and courteous, that I can't not rate this CB2 a 5. I was in there not too long ago to purchase a bike rack for my apartment. They didn't have any on the floor or in stock, but one of the employees did some digging, and they were able to uncover one last stocked rack. I absolutely love the bike rack, as it really keeps the space open in my small apartment. Props to the friendly staff for making my day! read more

Once upon a time when I lived in Ohio I had a futuristic coffee table with chrome Saarinen style tulip base shipped to the middle of nowhere from some crazy offshoot of Crate and Barrel. It served me well and upon moving to the city last year I made the pilgrimage finally in person. I picked out a sweet gray microfiber couch, room screen and other cool accessories. Every few months I stop by to get a few small things for gifts like LED flickering fake tea light candles and winter solstice ornaments. There's one really cute redhead on staff who is always dressed super cool stylish. I think she'd match my furniture; anybody know her ;)? read more

I pretty much like everything in here. The store is a little disorganized, but if you wander around long enough, you'll find what you were looking for. I consider CB2 to be an upscale IKEA. The prices are actually very similar to that of IKEA, but the quality seems to be slightly higher. Everything is modular, so it's perfect for condos and apartments. read more

Called CB2 to find out if a chair had a removable seat so I could recover it. Asked to speak with a manager, and Garrett got on the phone and could not answer the question for me. He told me he "thought" they were and when I asked him to call corporate to confirm he told me they wouldn't know either. Very poor service for a manager at a big corporate store. read more

I am a huge fun of cb2 i have many wonderful peaces from them i have never hand any issues until i purchased this rug for my living room. I paid over $1000 and looked good on my dark hardwood floors. But this rug sheds like the devil. It will eventually not stop shedding. I returned it after a months long allergy suffering. Now i need to buy a rug from somewhere! read more

I stopped in today to pick up a bistro table I'd ordered via the website. I've never been in before, but was pleased with the service. A very polite and helpful associate (I regret not catching his name) looked up my order, wheeled it up from the back and helped me get it into my car. I just bought the tabletop photo tree they have in the window right now and love it! And if my sister sees this, she is getting the Audrey Hepburn wall clock for Christmas! I've never been a fan of CB2, their furniture is a rip off and most of the styles are safe- nothing too bold or exciting. Despite that, I stopped in on Saturday and for $23 I stocked my new bar with enough stemless martini glasses, an acrylic shaker and other paraphernalia to get me through a 10 person cocktail party without incident. read more

Really contemporary, and really expensive! You get two types of hard furniture black or see through. If your looking for upholstery then don't expect to be able to sit on anything. If you're not on a budget but looking for modern couches you cannot sit up straight in, this is your place to go. I love some of their other pieces and covet many others. I am lusting over a rug here, which I will most likely purchase after I agonize some more. For the most part, CB2 has unique modern looking rugs, linens, and tables. For what you're getting the prices are somewhat reasonable, but I'm not completely sure how well some of this furniture lasts. Definitely worth checking out to at least get some ideas. read more

I used to really love this store...I've been going since (if I remember it correctly) that location was the Crate & Barrel outlet store before it moved up Clybourn and Cabrini Green still existed so you stuffed your wallet in your drawers when you got off the subway. I still love the merchandise, but the sales staff have become so incredibly uppity and rude that I'm just going to buy online from now on. Several weeks ago I saw a tray online so I went to the store to see what the color looked like in person. I couldn't find it so I asked someone. She insisted they never carried anything like that. When I said I just saw it online, she said that I was on the wrong website and she knows all the merchandise and they never carried it. She then went to a computer to, I'm quite sure, prove that I was wrong. When she, of course, finds it on the website she says that they never sold it separately from something else and it was never in the store. How about a freaking "That doesn't sound familiar, but let me look and hopefully we can find it for you!" I then go in today to buy a stupid blue dinosaur thing that I saw online and thought I would look fun on a shelf. I see a few of them on displays, but not like the shelf full of them for sale. So I ask if they are just on display or do they have them for sale when I'm told "NNnnnnnnnooooooooo". Again, WTF?!?!? Is a "Oh unfortunately we only got a few in for display so far. But let me check and see if I can find out when the big shipment is coming in" that hard? Will I buy from them online? Yep, they have fun stuff. Will I ever go into the store again? Place has pretty sweet furniture and a awesome staff that helps with any request no matter how big or small. I was in there to pick up some furnishings that were on back order and even though I didn't have my order number they were very helpful with finding my order and even picking a couple items from inventory that hadn't been stocked on the shelves yet. The only thing that kinda stinks about this location is that getting into and out of the parking lot can be a bit of a pain. Fortunately, most of the drivers in the area are sympathetic and will give you a pass if you just nudge your way out a bit. read more

Since there are limited locations of CB2 throughout the US, and I just happened to be in Chicago, I stopped at the Lincoln Park store. They were out of the piece that I wanted so the associate offered to waive the shipping and ship it directly to me! Sweet! Awesome customer service experience. Definitely a great place to browse and search for interesting accents for a room. they have a lot of great knick-knacks and gadgets that you never realized you desperately needed. My only problem was that I found this awesome little leather hippo that I really wanted for my bookshelf. I looked everywhere for a price tag and there was nothing. Love their Marta tumblers! Unfortunately I ended up breaking 5 out of the 6 I purchased, so I am really looking forward to them opening up a locale in San Francisco!
