If you need a contractor in Whatcom county Cool Runnings LLC is who to call. Dave Campbell and his…read moreteam are phenomenal. Not only is their work impeccable, but their dedication to helping their customers out is outstanding. This review is a long time coming, but in the weeks leading up to Christmas on 2015 we had a catastrophic dishwasher leak in our condo. We called our insurance and who brought out water mitigation, and after a week of their dehumidifiers in our condo things still weren't dry. So we called Dave, after a Yelp search revealed high marks and were so glad we did. He came out immediately and pointed out that something was wrong, so he pulled up the subfloor and revealed that there were cracked pipes in the wall that were leading to a much bigger problem. He worked with us through a crazy, and hectic holiday season getting our lives back together and despite having to work with our insurance, the HOA, and the HOA insurance was always putting our needs and concerns first. He knew our budget and worked with us to make sure we were the happiest we could be while staying within our tight budget. One last anecdote about his dedication to his customers: while I was out of town my wife found out that our hot water heater died. It was already in the evening, but when my wife called him (nearly in tears because we were still in the middle of the repair/remodel, had one room that wasn't pure chaos and all she wanted was a shower) he came out THAT NIGHT and replaced it. Cool Runnings will be my first call and first recommendation for ANY contractor work in Whatcom county. The condo turned out great, holiday season saved, and my wife and I couldn't have been happier. Thank you Dave for all your amazing work! Also, this review wouldn't be complete without thanking Eric, one of Dave's excellent workers, personally as well; great workmanship and dedication. TL/DR: Cool Runnings LLC does amazing work, will respect your budget, and treat you amazingly well. If you need a contractor, give Dave a call.

Aymeric and partner (I feel bad I forgot his name) came out first thing in the morning (8:00am). They were right on time, took a look and got right to work. They got things all fixed up for me quickly, explained what they did, told me a couple of things to be aware of with the toilet (things that are, or could become bigger problems), and offered suggestions for the cheapest/best fix when we need to go that route. They cleaned up everything and even mopped the floor. Both guys were very friendly and professional. Thanks!

PROS + Mike tries to address the cause of the problem. I have lost a total of 7 fence posts in the past 5 years because they rot. Mike used the Rotbloc Wrap to prevent the posts from rotting under the ground. + Mike was able to give me a free estimate and repaired my face. There were delays but he did it in the end. I tried to get a quote from big names in town, but I couldn't. CONS -Both times when I hired Mike, there was a problem with details, some big, some small. First time (2019), his crew fixed my fence but didn't do a good job. He had to come back to fix it himself. Second time (2021), I notice that one of the posts was longer and a few of them were shorter than other posts. He fixed the post that was too long, but there was nothing that could be done with the two posts that are too short (by about 6 inches). ADVICE *Make sure to inspect the site when they are done to make sure everything looks good. *Get quotes from other contractors. I found out later that a Yelper friend of mine in town hired a different contractor and paid less than half of what I paid. I could be comparing apples and oranges, but both he and I had 4 posts replaced in January 2021. Send me a private message if you want to know who my Yelp friend used. *Pay cash/check. There's a 3.9% processing fee for credit card payments. Overall, I'm happy with M & M, and I think I will use them again. However, I would definitely get a quote from other contractors first. ************************************************************ Don't forget to like my review (useful and/or cool)! Yes, it's taking a lot longer than anticipated, but there has been issues that have been out of their control. Such as supply delays, and pouring rain in which some products can not be applied. And yes, they have been working with wind and rain and inside the tarps in the freezing cold every day. The crew works full days Monday through Friday unless they have a delay in product or sub contractors. The crew has been extremely polite, cooperative and do they talk? How can I tell you how much I love my kitchen and first floor LVP?  The Zion team unbelievably made the process zip by and the only delays were with the countertop and cabinet paint. Everybody said it would take 8-10 weeks and that I was dreaming to think it could be done in a month, but they came through with flying colors.  Not only were things done in a timely manner (demo and floors in 4 days?!?!), but everybody did excellent work and seemed to take pride in the quality with which they completed each task. The project manager, Roman was good-natured and patient and had a totally can-do-easy-peasy attitude that really put my Type A at ease. He managed the tasks and seemed to be able to juggle 352 tasks at the same time and still get everything done - and done right. And talk about customer service! Not only were the office staff super responsive, when we had that flood from the old under-sink plumbing, Gherman and Derek were here at 7:00am to fix it - or die trying!   We have so much faith in this company, we'd like them to tackle our out-dated weirdly designed upstairs bathroom. Even though that's down the line, I can't imagine anyone but Zion to do the job. I appreciate the renovation of my kitchen and floors, but also the renewal of energy and joy they've given to our lives.

Its a fairly new small business in the surrey area composed of guys who have been in the industry for a really long time, which gave me some good reason to write a review about them, also the surprising fact that they didn't have any other reviews before I started writing this current one.
