This has to be the stupidest business I have ever dealt with in my life! Started Friday to order something for store pickup seems easy right nope if someone could fuck something so easy up they did! Idiots took the shit off the shelf and put it into a mailing package and shipped it straight back to themselves!!!!I call asking why I haven't gotten an email that my stuff is ready only for it to get worse they cancelled one of the only 4 items to begin with.... They find said item at another store ship it to them only for them to cancel that for some reason that no one can give me I get told that the order is gonna be cancelled for not picking up how the fuck can I pick something up that you morons shipped out of the store???? I go to pick it up today and now notice that I have 3 additional random charges on my credit card from the same store so a total of 4 charges and not one item in my possession. I ask about that and got told they don't know what it's for but I would have to call somewhere else seriously you should at this point be lucky that I am not being a Karen in your store! I have shopped at Cavenders for many years. I just recently found out that they only pay their new hires minimum wage and mabye 1$ more after time. They get mostly high school kids as they are the only labor force that could afford to show up when it does not even cover gas. I was told that the previous generation of owners paid a living wage but this generation has decided to put profits over people. With what they charge I am sure that they could pay their help enough to drive there and maybe even eat! Even McDonald's starts at over 10$ an hour! I think that more people need to be aware of this before they decide where to shop and are part of taking advantage of these nice young people. SHAME on you Cavenders! Dalton was very helpful. I'm getting what my husband was needing, which was his hat shaped and a pair of steel toe work boots. As soon as you walk in the door everyone says hello and ask if they can help us find anything. The store is well organized. It's clean and if you can't find your size just ask one of the many associates and they will check in the back or see if another store near by has it. They usually have some good sales going on. They do offer military discount. They have a lot to choose from with many styles up to date at reasonable prices. This is a great places to buy T-Shirts, boots,hats, dresses, belts, jeans, work boots dress shirts and much more so stop by and check out what they all have to offer. The service is great, and I used to work here and I was in the mens department but decided to switch to womens because of a certain worker named stormi. She is very rude and does certainly know how to make someone feel stupid. If anyone wants to get a job, do NOT apply to the mens department. She is not the best person to be a "manager". read more

The Good - It was my first time in a Cavender's Boot City and I was extremely impressed with the level of customer service. Everyone is very friendly and willing to help answer any questions you may have regarding their items. It's a large well laid out store with plenty of items to peruse for your cowboy enjoyment. The didn't have my size in very many jeans, but I could have just come in at a bad time of the month. They have tons of brands and an amazing array of boots to choose from. I can't wait to finally buy a pair. The Bad- The negatives were that their dressing rooms are very poorly lighted. So much so that staff even try to guide you into ones that have better lighting because they obviously know this is a problem. I don't get dressed in the dark at home so why would I at a store where I am trying on clothes to buy. It's not fun trying to see if you like the color of something that you can't really see. :( They need to fix this asap!! The Ugly- Nothing to report glad they are in Conroe. I went with my parents to help my dad look for work boots and me a pair of jeans. The workers were very rude, we tried multiple times to make conversation and they just gave us very rude and judge mental looks. esperanza checked us out and my mom made a joke and she gave her a annoyed look,the whole checkout process felt awkward and like she wanted us out of there as soon as possible. I work in customer service, it is only polite to try and make conversation and engage with your customers not shut them down and feel like they weren't welcomed. If y'all are having a bad day please don't push it onto your customers. I always go to buckle for my jeans because the atmosphere is very welcoming but I wanted to try Cavender's for once, very disappointed and will not be returning here. read more

Super slow checkout. They are not prepared at all for the Christmas rush. Only have 2 lines to check out and do returns with no way to manage your actual place in line. For the amount of $ they charge they could do more. Buy online and save yourself the stress. read more

Customer service is terrible. If it's not in stock, They won't order for you. Apparently their inventory system hasn't been updated on over a year. But then I called another store looking for the boots I needed - because this store wouldn't call for me, and the other store informed me that they can in fact order the boots for me. I went to the store and nobody asked if I needed help. Not one single person. Another person entered right after me and was helped right away by two people! I didn't mind, I continued shopping. As I was shopping I noticed how there was an individual following me as if I was going to steal something. I always shopped here and every time I would go in I would notice that I was followed as if I was going to steal something I was looked up and down. A few weeks back I went into this store looking for new jeans and had never shopped for jeans from Ariat and Cinch and the manufacturers you carry. Sydni was Johnny on the spot with all the information, styles, fits and her opinions on the various brands. I walked out with two great fitting and looking pair and she even was nice enough to order me a third that I really liked but y'all didn't have in stock. She's a diamond in the rough when it comes to retail customer service. I'll definitely be back to see her soon!!! read more

Today i was so excited to get my first pair of boots, unfortunately their 1960 branch run out of stocks of the boots that i wanted to buy but my experienced with them was VERY GOOD!! The sales associate was so nice and showed me different sizes that would help me decide which one should i get since its my first boots. Then somehow she went to look up on the computer to check which branch location can i go to get to get that pair of boots that have stocks. Then she told us to go to Conroe branch at 145 . So what we did we called them up and have those pair of boots reserved and told them we will get it by tomorrow. We gave them all the details of the boots! But since i am so eager to get that boots i have decided to get it the same day (today) i cant wait for tomorrow! But i was so dismayed , know why ? Because they cant find our reservation!!! They went to the shelves and they couldnt find it either!! We have been going back and forth and none of them can not tell who it was who took our call! We asked for the guys name on the but instead he asked for our name so we gave our name!! And we dnt have reservation??!!! We told them that we just called up 2 hrs ago and you said yes we will reserve it for u!! So i walked out and decided not get it! Its a waste of time talking to them and doesnt seem to know where to find those boots that we have reserved !I think they dnt take it seriously when we called up. My sweet hubby had one of the most humiliating experiences of his life in this store at 1:00 this afternoon, 6/30/2017. He went in, was helped by a very helpful Sales Associate named Cody, looked at boots, shirts, and belts. Cody brought him some jeans to try on, then hubby went to pay. He went to the truck, stood by the door checking his phone for texts from me, and two girls came out and asked to see his bag. He showed the bag with the $30.00 jeans and the receipt. They took the bag with the receipt in it INSIDE the store, with him waiting outside by his car. Then they came back out and said, " please come inside". The alarm when off when he went back inside. They asked him to step back through the security alarm, and it went off again. They then asked this 65-year-old grandfather and Navy Vet to empty his pockets and wallet right in the front of the entrance. Customers were staring at him the whole time. He was wearing blue jean shorts and a t-shirt, as he ran to Cavender's to purchase some jeans for our wedding anniversary dinner tonight. They all gathered around him like he was a thief, and he showed every way he could that there was no merchandise on him. Then they told him to lift his feet so they could check to see if there was something on the bottom of his shoes, we suppose that he stole something on the bottom of his shoes????. The manager was standing there, but would not look at him. He asked where is Cody, who helped him and could maybe explain what hubby was shopping for, and the manager said, "That is irrelevant." Hubby then said that was enough, he wanted a refund, they could have the jeans and he would never enter this store again. By the way, when he walked out with no merchandise, the alarm went off again! He came home so upset and embarrassed. This is a man who is a pillar in his family and in his community. Shame on you, Cavender's. read more

I decided to come here the other day to look for an inexpensive cowboy hat for the rodeo. My love affair with the American West and the cowboy lifestyle has been preceded by my life as a city boy, so I feel out of place when I walk into a western wear store. Couple that with I haven't owned a cowboy hat in probably 30 or 40 years, so I didn't really know what I was looking for and I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money and I did know that it can be very expensive to get western wear. I actually found a hat that I liked and the price tag was $24.99 I think. The guy there said go pay for the front and bring it back and he would shape it for me. When I got up to the front it rang up at a discount I want to say it was 20% so with tax I got the hat for $21 or $22 and some change. So of course I was very satisfied since I don't always wear a cowboy hat. Then I went back and got my hat shaped very quickly very satisfied. Then I found a nice pearl snap shirt that was also on sale and went back up to the front and bought that as well. When you check out the ask if someone helped you. I told him no for the shirt but yes for the hat, and he was apologetic that no one helped me find the shirt, but I knew what I was looking for and it was fine I told him I was appreciative of the help with my hat. This is a store with a lot of things to choose from and it can be expensive. Most of the shirts that I saw were the $50 range and I paid less than half of that for my shirt. I wanted to look at boots but I didn't because I knew I didn't have an extra hundred plus dollars which is at least what I would've had to pay to get something decent. Overall very satisfied with customer service and selection and price. I will be back again. read more

Despicable customer service. Despicable. Came in with my boyfriend for a cool new t-shirt for our upcoming Willie Nelson concert for the 4th of July, they didn't have anything suitable, so we left 5 minutes after walking in. We walked to our car (parked by the door) and was hollered at by a gal named Jordan from my car that my "bag" beeped. Funny thing was I didn't carry by purse in because my boyfriend had his wallet on him, and we didn't buy anything. So no bag. No beep ever occurred, especially after the manager used a decoy to show us the obnoxious sound it made. I even let the manager look inside my car for peace of mind. We were discriminated against because of our casual attire and a quick visit inside only to not make a purchase. We were speculated as thieves and are completely insulted. When asked to review the cameras, the manager says they have none. This allegation was made completely by profiling a couple that made no purchase. Total and udder embarrassment and disappointment from Cavenders and their team of overdressed fake cowboys/girls. Too bad, I spend a lot of money at their establishment. No more. read more

They get one star because of the excellent service from "the boys in the back", the salesmen in the back have been consistently knowledgeable, friendly and quick to ask if we need help but not hover. However, the girls in the front/checkout have been consistently bored, put out, unfriendly and borderline rude until that culminated in an interaction with assistant manager "Destiny" who was so rude to my husband when he asked to speak to management regarding having his favorite pair of Lucheses resoled, that he swore he will never return and forbids anyone in our family from shopping there. Doesn't bother me, I don't wear boots, but this is from a man who buys at least three pairs of Lucheses a year. Came in to the store to get a cowboy hat for my buddy's wedding. I have been going back now for a weeks because I couldn't make up my mind. But the nice salesman Connor was there every time to assist me every time I had a question. After going back and fourth I decided to a buy a rodeo king 10x even though it was a little more than my budget allowed Connor had convinced me this one was the hat and worth every penny. He had me go to the register to pay for it while he shaped and by far it is the best looking hat I have ever owned due to his hat shaping abilities. From now on Connor has all of my future hat and non hat purchases! Also I want to thank the two nice young ladies at the front I didn't catch their name but they were also very helpful in helping me pick out jeans for this wedding as well. Went to this location to buy a pair of boots I had seen on their website. It was my birthday and it was gonna be a big purchase for me. The boots were expensive, but a treat. From the moment I walked in the door, no one greeted me (although they were 3 girls sitting behind the register discussing their previous evening out), I kinda looked around to get my bearings of the store. I went straight to the boot section, was searching for the boots I wanted, still no one offered any help. I found my dream boots, but didn't see my size. I finally went to go ask for help, there were 2 guys stocking stuff, so I asked them. They said they were in the middle of something and told me to go ask the girls at the desk. No thanks. I walked out. I ended up going to the 1960/Kuykendahl location and had the BEST experience buying my dream boots. I guess the other location didn't need my $300.00. Cavender's (Boot City) - Got my 1st two pairs of cowboy boots...where of all places: in Texas, particularly at Cavender's, at this and another location. They seem to be the only game in town around here, as far as brick n' mortar types. There are also Internet vendors, including Cavender's, but finding the right fit amongst the plethora of brands/styles/idiosyncracies/comfort-level/quality/prices/materials (you get what you pay for) and the thought of potential multiple returns of several hundred dollar purchases in my quest to find my ideal pair(s) dissuaded me. Service was extremely helpful - - but did border on being like that of a stalker, appearing to be fearful that the one they're attending to might steal something, although more 'sinister' is that their staff is probably paid by commission (so if you're looking for a place to splurge or jettison your mega-loose-change, come here...but I digress), yet to their credit, they haven't been pushy, just omnipresent in their knowledge of the merchandise (which is a plus). I discovered that: 1) some of their prices vary between stores & their Internet site; and 2) they apparently don't do a "Price Match" ("We Won't be Undersold) policy. So, it's best to: 1. Remember to bring your own socks (thin &/or thick), at least 1 of the stores did a common-use loaner pair (Yuck!), unlike department store shoe places that have single-use snipped stockings for hygienic reasons for the erstwhile sockless masses; 2) Try 'em for size/style (diff. brands have diff. size fit & comfort level), 3) Compare prices (fluctuations are probably due to what's on stock at each of their stores, altho' 1 salesperson offered to check availability at another store and to have it brought in (unfortunately, I wasn't all that patient, particularly with the distance & notorious traffic), and 4) if you're in the mood to go all-out, they also have all sorts of Western accoutrements (i.e. hats, belts, clothing, rhinestone boot blings, knick knacks, etc.). Luckily, the ones I lcoveted happened to be on sale, and in hindsight of potential buyer's remorse, also discovered that I got mine at a much better price than Internet vendors -- wound up being quite happy, to boot [ no pun intended, really ;-) ]. Went into this store for the first time last week and loved it! We were greeted at the door by the girls at the register. Didnt seem like anyone else was working in the store besides the 3 or so girls at the front. Looked around a bit and was happy to see they had a kids section. (Had never been in the store before so didnt know what they offered) Found very cute boots for my toddler but had a hard time finding sizes for him. Went up to register and asked for help finding sizes. The older woman who helped was very nice and helped us pick out my sons first pair of cowboy boots. I then found a pair for myself. The woman took my sons old shoes, since he didnt want to take his cowboy boots off, to the register and said it was no problem if he didnt want to take them off. When we were ready for checkout she came around to my son to take the security tag off so he didnt have to take them off. Very accomindating! Very pleasant! Will definately shop here again! read more
