Dropped two stars Took our blackwing in for a front emblem swap, part that we ordered directly from Cadillac did NOT fit. This part was ordered on 3 different occasions and the team was unable to provide a part with correct clips to mount. After they failed to put the new one on, the original was re-mounted. Upon returning home and under closer review, our emblem is damaged (looks like a screwdriver was used to try to pry the emblem off) and when confronted I received a lackluster answer "Could be a rock chip" yeah....no. Only returning to the service team because we get free oil changes for life but otherwise we will not be allowing the techs to touch our vehicle. $70k car....would think y'all would treat it with more respect. read more

Purchased an Escalade from Valentine at the beginning of October, to start they treated my wife like a little girl when she tried to get some repairs done which we pointed out and were dismissed during purchase...then the bad suspension, then the sensors on the tires, then the turning off while driving, then the locking itself, then the leveling system, now the truck has locked itself to a certain speed limit while we are over 5hours away from home. No response from Valentine, no response from any manager. RUN AWAY!! There's plenty of dealerships around who aren't so horrible once you're done signing. They have no regard for their vehicles leaving you stranded while at important life events over 5hours away. "Call roadside" and when you call roadside all you get is "are you in a safe place? Because it'll be hourrrrsss before we can send anyone MAYBE". My husband purchased a Ford Bronco from Cavender and had it shipped to Phoenix for my birthday. The title was never sent and when we spoke to Patrick Callahan, the owner, he was delightful and told us about his service to our country in the army and how he was a man of integrity and he would "use" this "teachable moment" to train his staff, That was a month ago and now this phony won't even answer our calls after agreeing to give us $4,500 in lieu of the advertised soft top and hitch package that were missing. (less than the cost of actually providing the same) The odometer reading we were given was off by over a thousand miles more than recorded. We still do not have a correct title, in spite f paying to have one expedited. Seems like some funny business is going on at Calendar Cadillac. Because I was using a car insurance for repairs, they took advantage of the charges for the work. They wouldn't admit it, but actions speak louder than words in this case. What they charge per hour and minimal charges for each problem is highway robbery $$$$ They wanted to charge me for something that was obvious for time to verify. You could tell by looking at it , what was wrong and they still wanted to charge me that hourly rate to figure it out. TOTALLY RIDICULES. If only I had checked the reviews on YELP before buying my 2024 Bronco from an ad and dealership website. Never, ever, ever would have even made the first call. One star only because I can't give them negative stars. Wonderful sales lady helped and put together a fair deal on this Bronco, based upon the information they provided. Everything went smooth, until I sent the wire. It took 4 days for anyone to confirm receipt of the wire or send me the final paperwork. For all I knew, the whole thing was a scam. In the interim, I had a transport company on hold to pick up and bring the car to me in Phoenix. Lost a week due to the lack of response, and the Finance Guy was a real piece of work. I receive the car that had been "detailed" and although I expected the exterior to be dirty due to the open carrier, the interior and under the hood was pathetic. Windows had never been cleaned and dirt/dust was in every crevice of the car. I spent half of a day cleaning the thing myself The mileage stated in the ad, website and all sales docs including the odometer statement was half of what was actually on the car, and no one gives a damn. No less than 30 calls and emails to the GM, Sales Manager and Mr Cavender himself and not a single response. Today marks 2 months since they received my wire for payment in full, with no lien to be filed. I do not have a title and the temporary tag is expired. I am forced to let the car sit or risk a ticket for driving without a tag. Multiple calls for the past 5 days and nothing. I love this tag line on their emails, and it is a shame that none of it is true. What a way to run a family business, I bet that the old man is rolling over in his grave. My husband left messages to get through the salesperson who sold her the car to get some answers and no one returned his calls. He ended up going to the dealership and Phil was too busy to talk to him and didn't seem to care. They are eager to help you before the sale, but once the sale is finalized, you are on your own, I do not recommend the dealership--go somewhere else. read more

Had a 10 AM appointment today for an oil and filter change. Two and a half hours later, I spotted my car setting outside with the emergency flashers on. I assumed it was finally ready. BUT the oil and filter change had not yet been done! I received no call before my appointment to share that the dealership was having staff problems or suggest another time, no warning that a 30 minute (at most!) job could not be accomplished that day. When I stated this was totally unacceptable, I was told they could get to it in ANOTHER 30 minutes. This was after they tried to upsell me with a tire rotation only 2,400 miles after they last rotated my tires! Beware! Not everyone at Cavender Cadillac can be trusted. On Thursday, 8/7/25, around 3:00 PM we met with a senior manager at Cavender about possibly selling a 2015 Cadillac ATS to Cavender. The car had been owned by a family member of one of the persons in our group who had passed away, and our friend had authority to sell the car. We had earlier talked with Ericka at Cavender and she indicated they might be interested in buying the car. Upon arriving at Cavender, the senior manager told us they were interested in buying the car. He also said they had no used ATS models currently on the lot and previously had one which sold quickly. I told him we were from Colorado, our friend was flying back home the following day, and she had the title and other paperwork needed to sell the car to Cavender. I also told him that another local Cavender dealership had contacted us earlier that afternoon and was interested in buying the car. The senior manager and I then negotiated a price. The car was in great shape with below-average mileage and we had had it professionally detailed a few days earlier. After several rounds of exchanging amounts, beginning with an offer by the manager in the range of $6,500 to $7,000, he agreed to pay our last figure of $8,250, but claimed it would leave Cavender with only about $500 in profit after their internal costs for preparing the car to put it on the lot. The three of us, including our friend, then went into his office to sign the paperwork and receive payment. At that point the manager told us that the person who handles the paperwork and "cuts the check" wasn't there, having gone home early because of a family situation, but that she would be in the following morning. Since our friend had to be at the airport by 10 AM the next day, we asked if there was anyone else at Cavender who could give us the check that afternoon. He responded that no, only she could "cut the check." All three of us (all adults) heard him say at least twice that only she could "cut the check." We therefore agreed to be back at 8:45 AM the following morning to get the check, and we left the car overnight at Cavender. The next morning we showed up at 8:40 AM as scheduled. Well over a half hour passed before anyone helped us during which time we learned that the manager was in a staff meeting. Ericka then helped us and did the paperwork, apparently being the person referred to by the manager the day before. When the paperwork was done and the title had been signed over to Cavender, we asked for the check. Ericka responded that Cavender Cadillac doesn't give a seller the check when it purchases a used car, but instead the check is issued by its accounting office located somewhere else in San Antonio and mailed to the seller, and we would get it a week or so later. All three of us were shocked and immediately told Ericka that wasn't at all what the senior manager had told us the day before. We also were concerned that the car had now been signed over to Cavender, was in its possession, and we were going to return that weekend to Colorado and may or may not ever see the check. Ericka then got the senior manager to join us, and another high-level Cavender executive also came in. We explained that we had been told by the manager that Cavender would "cut the check" this morning, to which the manager responded that he had never used those words or the word "check." All three of us again were shocked that he would so blatantly not tell the truth in front of us, and two of us then called him out on his claim in front of the other executive and Ericka. Ultimately, Patrick Callihan, the General Manager, came in and agreed to have someone go to the accounting office on the other side of San Antonio and get the check. Ericka subsequently went and got it for us. As a lawyer, I've thought long about why the senior manager would unequivocally tell us at least twice on Thursday afternoon that a person at Cavender (apparently Ericka) would "cut the check" for us when we returned the following morning. His motivation must have been that he knew he had a likely buyer for the car or could sell it very quickly, and he did not want us to drive away with it that afternoon and not return the next day. (He also may have thought that we would go to the other dealership that wanted to see the car.) In that regard, Cavender listed the car two days later for $15,995 on its website -- over $7,000 more than what it paid for the car -- and the listing disappeared a day or two later. The lesson learned is that one senior manager at Cavender Cadillac will say whatever is necessary, including making false statements, to benefit him. The only reason I'm not giving Cavender only 1 star is the graciousness of Ericka and the actions of Patrick (the GM) in resolving the issue created by the manager's statements. read more

Horrible experience. Bought a car and after 8 days I get a low coolant indicator. I called the dealership and could not get anyone to return my calI. I topped off the coolant and 4 days later, I received the same coolant indicator. After requesting a sales manager, Matt apologized and said "don't worry, we'll take care of you". They replace a hose and charge me $498. $75 for the part and the rest for labor and taxes. Why am I paying for labor when they sold me a defective car? The least they could have done is not charge me for labor? If y'all had done a thorough inspection, I wouldn't have to fix the car. Great way of "we will take care of you". I brought my car in for a routine oil change Oct8 at which point the service rep Carlos recommended additional services which is common every time I bring the car in for my "free" oil change. $1.3k & 4 hours later I got my car back. Oct30 my car read "Steering assist reduced" the fan sounded really loud & upon the startup the check engine light was on & the coolant temp not registering. I made an appointment the next day figuring it was the thermostat. I came in the morning & met with Carlos who ran the diagnostic & confirmed it was the thermostat & stated that was covered under warranty. I waited for a while before Carlos came back to ask if I needed a ride home since it would take awhile & he didn't want me to wait. By 5 & no status update I reached out to Carlos & he said they should have it done in the morning that they had the part they just needed to wrap up the job. I took work off on the 31st & waited 12 no update I reached out again & Carlos stated that they were waiting on some gaskets & they'd let me know as soon as it was done. By 5 I reached out since he hadn't Carlos said they still hadn't received the parts but that they'd be done by Monday & when I asked for a loaner car he said they were out. So Monday 12 I reached out & Carlos said they were still waiting, when I asked for a loaner car he said if I could get there in the next hour they'd have something. Nov6 I received a quote for additional services totaling $1.8k, some of which were services that were done Oct8 I reached out to Carlos he said not to worry about the additional services, when I asked for status he stated they were still waiting on the thermostat which he had previously stated they had. When I pointed that out he apologized. I received a message on Nov13 stating that the vehicle was ready for pickup, when he brought it to the front he said that the AC was blowing hot air & that I'd have to take the loaner home while they worked on that. THE AC WAS WORKING WHEN I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN. He said it was fairly common that when they replace the thermostat they need to reset the AC. I reached out to Carlos on the 14th & he stated that they were going to do an AC diagnostic on the 15th. On the 17th I reached out for updates & Carlos said they were waiting on parts, later that day Carlos said "good afternoon the tech finally got the thermostat replaced test drove vehicle noticed a/c blows warm air would recommend to have it diagnostic done on it the cost for the examination is $285 please let me know be safe and blessed". I stated I would not be paying for the diagnostic as the issue was cause by them & they could cover the diagnostic he responded "understood thermostat is working the tech states possible may be low on freon have to evac and recharge add dye to figure out whats wrong if you do repairs no fee is added just repair charge if decide not to repair that when the fee comes into place". I reiterated that the fee should not be my responsibility, two hours later he said vehicle is ready for pickup, I asked if I was going to pickup a vehicle without a working AC he said "correct". I asked to speak to Katie, his supervisor, she called & heard the story she said they'd cover the diagnostic & apologized for the lack of communication & the service I had received to this point. Hours later Katie said they ran a diagnostic & she had good news & bad news, they found the problem, a leak in the rear condenser, but that's a $3k job, but that she did some work to ensure that I'd only have to pay for parts which meant I'd pay $763. I had no AC issues when I originally brought it in, I am paying another $700 bucks just to have a working AC. Carlos text me Nov22 stating "good morning katie states we are also going to replace a/c condenser has a small leak call you monday for progress report be safe and blessed". Nov26 I got a text that said the vehicle was ready for pickup. On Dec1 I got the vehicle back. I don't care that I have a lifetime a free oil changes from them, I will NEVER go back to that place. I pursued an 2023 Escalade here and it was the worst experience. We live in Houston and asked if it had any cosmetic flaws etc and was told it did not. My husband drove down and arrived an hour before close so I was dark. The next morning we come out and the vehicle had hail damage - over 300 little dings !!!! None of this mentioned to us. Also my husband did find they tried to touch up the bumper 6 inch long scratch with paint that did not match. He did get an I owe you to have it fixed but we tried for 3 weeks to get a call back to have them honor this !!! We had to get managers involved to even get a call back. The sales person was dishonest and we have spent nearly 2k out of pocket to have the hail damaged fixed we could not get them to honor the paint touch up so the thought of them paying for the hail damage was not even worth mentioning. Go elsewhere !!! Trust me when I say you do not want to buy from the used car department at this dealership. I was dealing with Matt in sales for the last few days on a sale of a 2019 S Class Mercedes Benz, I was funded by a bank, Matt advised me to close the deal I need to drive to this San Antonio location from Austin, so I dropped all my work to drive 1 hour and 45 minutes to sign paperwork and close the deal. I get to the dealership and greeted by Matt from Sales, we went over the vehicle, took it on a test drive. Now waiting for the paperwork from the Sales Manager Michael. Waiting for Michael for about 20 minutes and comes in and tells me that the Mercedes Benz S Class has a pending sale. Wait, so why and I here? His response was sorry! 1st problem...Purchased a used 2023 CT5 from salesman Tony Slaughter on 8/31. He made it a point to emphasize several times Cadillac certified pre-owned is top notch. Everything works or is fixed so they do. I called Scott a few days later to inform him the parking sensors were not working. He was not there, I left a message and as of today I have not received a call back..As time has passed, I'm sure the answer will be "not our fault, it worked when it left the lot". Cost is $1,000 plus to fix.. 2nd problem... I'm 65 and have purchased numerous cars throughout my life, new, used, private sale and dealerships. I purchased the vehicle on 8/31 and have not received a hard plate as of yet and my current temp tag is expired. There is a 2nd temp tag being delivered at some point. But, driving with one expired is not a good thing. Someone (salesman) needs to trace and keep tabs on temp tags so noone has expired tags and go through this issue. Either send paperwork for a new temp tag or find out where the process is for hard plates. 3rd problem...I am having to jump through hoops with my bank because they have not received the title from DMV. The title paperwork I was told has been sitting on the finance guys desk as of the last system note from 9/24 and asked for repeatedly with no response. If that paperwork is not received in due time, my finance rate could change. The point to the 3 issues above is a dealership with the Cadillac name is or should be top tier. My parents came to Cavender Nissan to purchase a car they are nothing but a predatory lending dealership my parents are elderly they're in their 70s and 80s and they took total advantage of them they sold them a car way over the MSRP price ..my father is a military vet and this is how his this dealership treated him, I came to speak with the general manager Tim and he's playing as if he has no clue as to what is going on at HIS dealership ..I showed him the discrepancies in the paperwork where they have overcharged my parents .. they added in gap insurance a service plan a maintenance plan these things is totally almost $4K without there knowledge . My mom said once they were in the office after being there for hours. The FManage just required them to sign without any explanation ,,I can go on and on about how disgusted I am with this dealership I do not recommend anyone and I mean no one to buy a vehicle from Cavender Nissan in San Marcos Texas. This dealership submitted "my"contract for funding before my husband and I took delivery of their vehicle. No one at this dealership has taken responsibility for their actions. Our credit took a 66 point hit on a vehicle we have never owned. They until recently had the same vehicle "they sold us" on their website. They got funding from GM for this. They never titled the vehicle in our name. So why is GM Financial calling me to pay them a loan on a vehicle I never drove off with? It's simple they assumed I'd take the suv and because the repairs needed to finalize the deal was going to take two weeks they wanted funding before the end of the month to count it as a sold. I'm sure someone got a commission on this deal because they got funded from GM the very next day. Now that I'm calling them to fix the issue they have no idea how this happened and blame GM financial for the error. When I call they keep saying that it's getting taken care of. Every manager there can care less about how they affect our lives. After reading some of the reviews my husband isn't the only disabled veteran that they tried to take advantage of. Worst buying experience ever. Sales man Chris lied on several occasions. They think people are dumb and don't know their tactics then go hiding w their tales tucked. They had a market adjustment on the V series. 50k mark up, no one will feel sorry for these greedy bastards when cars sales go to all online. The dealership itself was dirty. Fish tanks were not well kept, fish were sick. Had a lil difficulty obtaining finance but w a 720+ credit score and high income, the rate they got me was ridiculous. They made us finance through them, they made us have a trade in, they made us have a SA address and they made us pay 50k mark up if we wanted the vehicle. Then tried to upcharge us on some floor mats and sun shade. It was the only option in 6 states i called to get this truck now, so i bent over and took it but totally forgot the lube. F these guys. I'll be refinancing asap and will never recommend, or visit that shit hole again. For a newish dealership they should be ashamed at the condition of their store. I think i got pink eye from sitting in Chris's office. Smelt like butt hole. Detail job was pathetic. My appointment was notified that the appointment would take all day. I guess I'm expected to just sit there all day and waste my day. Very inconvenient to not have a loaner car. Distrustful!!! We had a deal on a used vehicle at Cavender Cadillac in San Antonio. The sales person, Johnny V, even sent us a completed invoice. My 85 year old father accompanied me from Austin to San Antonio to pick up the car. When we arrived we found out that the car had been sold to another buyer who came in after we had made a deal. They didsn't even call us when we were in route, even after Johnny V knew what our ETA was to purchase the car. Update: I bought a 2018 BMW at Cavender several weeks ago. In my first review on their site I pointed out the good and the mediocre. Poor salesman, hours of waiting, pushy finance department. Now let me point out the bad. Don't bother even thinking of customer service. I have been calling for weeks to get paper work I'm assuming I should have regarding an extended warranty I purchased. I did get one call back, and I still haven't received the info for my files. the person who put my paperwork through Estella and the GM Patrick do not bother to return calls at the end of the day. There is absolutely no customer service provided from the time we purchased the vehicle to the times we have taken the car in for routine service. Services are never done on time. We never ever get return calls. One excuse after another. How is this place undergoing a multi million dollar expansion when they cannot provide minimal customer service. This review applies to their service department. I have no experience with their sales dept. I took my wife's Cadillac here to get serviced. I understand parts are hard to come by right now, but it took over 24 days to get a differential swapped out in her car with no loaner vehicle available. What bothered me was the lack of communication by our service tech Carlos. He did not once call me for any updates on my vehicle. I had to call him for updates every single time and it almost felt like I annoyed him. It was just a bad experience overall for us. read more

What horrible experience!! Will never go back to Cavender! I had a 9:30 am appt. Got there at 9:27am. First one in line. They told me to pull up to first cone. Waiting for service rep to show up all the while I watched as the two people behind me got serviced!!!! My service rep could not be found by co-workers!! So I left! My service rep never showed up before I left. They need to service guests in the order they show up who are on time, NOT according to who they randomly chose is your service rep. As in my case I got screwed with "Katie" as she was no where to be found!!!!!! read more

The service center has become to a very respected service center to one of the slowest and most inefficient services. Waited 30 min for the car in front of me just to be checked in. There are a lot of service members at the check in areas but everyone seems to be moving at an extremely low space. I talked to the manager, and he said that they were doing their best. If ZERO was an option they would be a zero star. Absolute liars. They listed a car online and it was priced well. I called on it and they confirmed the price. So I went down there to test drive and to buy it and we sit down to do the deal and he says hold on I'll be right back. I knew something was off. I stood up to watch him go talk to his boss. They were talking and the boss looked upset and went to a computer and did something on it and then the sales rep came back by me and said he's sorry for the confusion but the price I told you was incorrect. I said the price I saw was on YOUR website. He played dumb and said "let's check" so he pulled up the website in front of me and sure as shit the manager changed it when he went back there and they talked. He made the price $2000 more. I looked at him and said that's not the price that was listed and he said it's always been this price since we took the trade in 2 weeks ago. I said you're full of shit because I have the screen shot of it. I showed him the screen shot and he froze. He went and got his boss and I said you guys just ch aged the price I saw you do it. He said "are you calling me a liar" I said " I absolutely am because I saw it and I have a screen shot of it from 2 hours ago lower." More words were said and I left. F**k that place. I purchased a Cadillac Escalade and was led to believe that purchasing the MasterTech Service Contract and Prepaid Maintenance Plan, which cost me $10,889.34, would cover anything that goes wrong in my car. I was specifically told to purchase a windshield replacement plan, key replacement plan and that this MasterTech service contract would be very important because of all of the electronics in my car. A few days ago, I took my car in to have a problem with the window checked and was told of some recommended services. I initially agreed to the services, but was told that my prepaid maintenance nor MasterTech Service Contract would cover these services. In addition, my windshield wipers needed to be replaced and I was told I had to pay for those too. I am extremely disappointed in how I was misled when purchasing my cadillac. I took the finance representative and sales representative at their word. As a veteran, I am happy to support businesses as Cavendar Cadillac, but to be misled to purchase something this expensive to find out it doesnt even cover windshield wipers is unbelievable and wrong. I would NOT recommend this dealership, particularly the tactic to get you to purchase expensive prepaid maintenance plans that do not cover anything. read more

I am in the market for a late model Cadillac XT5 and Cavender, San Antonio had one advertised online that was worth closer inspection. Since I am a good 90 minutes away from this dealership, I communicated by email about the car before making an appointment to come and see it. My wife and I drove down, arrived at the dealership, were welcomed in a friendly way, and, after a brief conversation, we were left sitting in an office and wait while the salesman "brought the car around." After a while, the salesman came back, sit down, stared into his computer monitor, cleared his throat, and said, "Gosh, it seems the car you were interested in was sold and shipped out this morning to California." We were too shocked to say anything much. There was very little doubt we were invited to this dealership on false pretenses. No one purchases a vehicle and has it shipped out within a matter of hours - this deal had to be in the works or even finalized during the time of our email exchange. Needless to say, we won't be back anytime soon. How any business can be so insulting and discourteous of customers is way beyond me. No wonder the person I had emailed with "had to step out" and leave it to other salespeople to deal with the situation.
