I'm only giving 1 star because I can't give 0. I bought a Cavco home 10 years ago from a local dealer who is no longer in business. At several points I have found things wrong with this home that I could not get fixed because the broker refused to answer the phone.
2 years ago I noticed leaks after a rain, when I looked at the roof I noticed that the roof had been installed incorrectly and I could see bare wood where metal flashing should have been installed. The Cavco office in Tucson refused to re-roof because the home was out of warranty but sent a man out to evaluate my claim that the roof was installed incorrectly in the first place. After he checked my roof out I spoke to the office and the woman in charge informed me that he had found nothing wrong. I then spoke to him and he said that my claim was, in fact, valid. So, essentially, CAVCO LIED TO ME TO AVOID HAVING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM!
The man that visited the house applied a polymeric coating to seal up the leak and said to watch the leak to see if it worked, a year later I called him again about the matter and he said he could not come back without the office scheduling his visit.
So basically, I'm screwed! Cavco built a substandard home for too much money and I'm stuck with it.
DO NOT BUY A CAVCO HOME. THEY WILL NOT TREAT YOU RIGHT! read more
