I was regularly enticed by their deliciously wholesome bread, scones and flapjacks (not all at once though!). Today, they've moved to the South West of London and their business has evolved into supplying local shops and running stalls at (Farmers') markets. They also do home deliveries (although I haven't tested this aspect out). In spite of their evolution, the recipes seem to have remained true to their origins and their products are as healthily tasty, as ever. I especially like their cheese and herb scones and their range of breads. If you spot them at a market, don't hesitate to accept their little samples - you're likely to become a convert.

Also, after I picked up a box of mince pies from Sainsburys, I noted Greggs was, in fact, better. It's quick service and great for travelers and locals on-the-go so it naturally lacks the ambiance of a café or restaurant. Tasty food, recommend especially for the hungry traveler.

All the baked goods are made at the nearby Hampton Hill premises and then brought to Hampton village. This is a popular little bakery, especially on Saturday mornings. You can buy bread, cookies, cakes and pastries, along with freshly made sandwiches. The Saturday staff is mostly teenaged girls. I can, however vouch for at least one of them, as she is my daughter. The service is friendly and reasonably efficient, and prices are about what you'd expect from a local independent bakery. Yes, you can buy sliced bread cheaper at the supermarket, but isn't a freshly baked, locally produced product more satisfying?
