Who does that?! That's just terrible Cava
Mark V.

My daughter who has been craving Cava finally went today craving a warm, crunchy pita cup but got a cold, soggy pita with an entire half-avocado shoved in the middle--every bite was a mushy mess that brought her to tears! CAVA's build-your-own concept only works if the basics are nailed, so they need to slice avocado for even mixing, toast each pita fresh before assembly, and check orders for warmth and proper prep. Until then, I can't recommend this spot.

Healthy, fresh, delicious! I loved making my own bowl at Cava! They gave great portions and you can add so many unique ingredients. I enjoyed the basmati rice with harissa chicken and several dips including the crazy feta. The workers were so nice and great at explaining what the options were. The inside was very clean with plenty of seating. Will definitely be returning!

Cava, I heard of it but recently was told to go and check it out. I went to the location in North Dale. It's differently a busy location and it smelled good in there. I got build you own bowl. My order taker explained everything very thoroughly. My bowl was so good with chicken and braised lamb with brown, cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant hummus, feta, tzatziki, and dressing. The pita chips were so good and I'm surprised that I only ate one on the way home. Differently going back.

Visited this place recently due to a invitation of a friend. I honestly thought it was a different type of establishment. I was pleasantly surprised to see the really great food options available here. I got a You pick bowl which allowed me to choose the ingredients. I started with salmon and added a ton of other fresh ingredients. The staff were very friendly and helpful and built my bowl as I asked. I was absolutely delighted with the results and I will be returning soon. As I write this review I got excited about maybe visiting it tomorrow. The restaurant itself was clean and nicely laid out and the staff amazing at helping me navigate all the yummy fresh options they offered

It's been a while and I forgot how good cava was. It just might be my favorite fast food chain here's why - Flavor wise there is so much going on but somehow it all just works. The amount of variety in toppings and achievable flavors is unmatched. Like where else can you get hummus, harissa, ganoush, and tons of vegetable options ? NO WHERE but feel free to prove me wrong .

Falafel Crunch Bowl

I came here for lunch not knowing what to expect. I was greeted by very friendly and helpful staff who prepared my bowl. I chose the Falafel Crunch Bowl and got it exactly as it is offered. It was absolutely fantastic!! The flavors were so fresh and I have craved going back since this visit. It is a comfortable, casual restaurant where you feel at home. I cannot wait to come back again soon!

Fast service and food is fresh at this location. Love how convenient it is to order to go.

Im not sure how I'm just now getting into CAVA because it's Amazing! Fresh ingredients and so many veggie and add on options to choose from! This is a quick service restaurant and depending on the line you should be in and out within 5-10 mins although this location is always pretty packed! I love the crazy feta dip and spicy chicken option! Food is always fresh and these bowls are HUGE!

I go to CAVA multiple times a week--it's one of my go-to spots when I want something quick, healthy-ish, and flavorful. Most days, the food is fresh and hits the spot. The bowls are customizable, the ingredients are usually solid, and the flavor combos are hard to beat. That said, timing really matters here. If you go later in the day, especially close to closing, the ingredients can feel a little past their prime. The chicken sometimes tastes old or dry, and a few of the toppings seem like they've just been sitting out too long without being refreshed. It's not always the case, but it happens enough that I've noticed. Still, the service is always good, and the staff keeps things moving even during busy hours. When everything's fresh, it really is one of the best fast-casual spots around. Just a heads-up--go earlier if you want peak freshness.

Bad Avocado

While the concept is good and the food is generally tasty and healthy...tonight was the exception. I ordered the new Spicy Lamb Balls and avocado bowl. At approximately 6PM, they only had 3 of the 4 meatballs that is supposed to come on the dish. I said that was ok, just asking they bring me the meatball when ready (we were dining in). After 15 minutes, the meatball had not arrived. I went back to the counter and was rudely told by what seemed to be a manager who was visible in the kitchen to just pick another scoop of meat. I declined and just walked away. I might add the avocado in the bowl was so discolored, it was inedible and terribly unappetizing. What a terrible example this manager is setting for what seemed to be about 10 employees working at the time. We will not return until this situation is corrected.

CAVA is one, if not my FAVORITE place to eat out. It's quick and easy, but so delicious and healthy!! Very cute spot to grab lunch or dinner with friends, and will forever be better than chipotle to me. You get to customize your bowl or choose a pre made one. I love all the options that are given for the salads, protein, topping and dressings! The balsamic date dressing is a must!! Amazing service and food!

Greek salad
Stephanie M.

This is my first time at Cava. I got a Greek salad with chicken. It was pretty good. It kind of reminded me of chipotle the way it was set up. The workers were ok, not rude nor super friendly. If I'm honest, it's a better version of chipotle with other options.

You know those places that are so good, you kind of want to keep it to yourself? Well, this is one of those lunch spots for me. I am finally ready to share the secret, since everyone knows now anyway. CAVA is amazing! It's a Mediterranean-style build-your-own bowl or pita counter service restaurant. It's kind of like Chipotle if Chipotle was healthier and not Mexican. You choose your vessel: either a bowl or a pita. Pick a base, like rice or lettuce, or a combination. (I recommend the arugula). Then you choose your "main". I recommend a combination of the chicken & falafel. I found the steak gets a little dry. Maybe it would be better if you got there when they open. But, if you must get steak, add hummus at the next step to beef up the moisture. (Pun intended.) The next step is the toppings. It's a Greek place so there will be olives recommended. I prefer the tomato-cucumber blend. Cucumbers are excellent, Persian variety. The tomatoes are halved grape tomatoes. Pro Tip: If you get the blend, it's tossed with police oil & seasoning before being added to your bowl or pita. The hummus and feta (or "crazy feta") is also a must try topping. If it's too much to decide; just choose from among the "chef-curated bowls". I recommend the Greek Salad.

Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. In the spirit of expanding our culinary pallet, we ordered two apps that were new to us. The Kebbeh was very good - i'd say similar to a meat hush puppy? Krispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. The Baba Ganju was different than what I was expecting and not something I personally liked (not any fault to the dish, I'm just a texture person). The chicken shawarma and gyro platter (it's a platter at dinner) were FANTASTIC! Seriously, so much flavor, fresh, the meat was not overly cooked. Everything tasted very fresh and we seriously had no complaints!! We also ordered a side of Batata, which are sort of crispy potato cubes with chili flakes + garlic - so good! I will say when we got there, there was a mishap and we waited over 20 minutes to be greeted and introduced to our server after we sat down. Once our server realized we were in her section, the rest of our service was amazing! I think that was just a one off fluke, and I would not let it negatively impact my experience.

I got the chicken shawarma and it's served deconstructed (as in you get the meat, veggies, and hummus all separate with pita to make it yourself) and the chicken was really lacking flavor. My brother got the chicken kebab and also thought the chicken was bland. My girlfriend got the gyro (also served deconstructed) and we both thought it was the best dish but also nothing special. In terms of parking, there is no parking lot. There is some free street parking but it is limited.

I ordered a whiskey sour that was just okay - no froth of any kind on the top, which was kinda disappointing. I really enjoyed the feel of the place on the inside, though. It was very warm and cozy - I think everyone feels the same way. They've done a phenomenal job with the design choices inside. That first experience did not turn me off from trying them out again due to the ambiance and the solid experience with our server, who handled our large group well. I returned yesterday prior to another Lightning game with my dad. It admittedly was not my first choice, but after seeing how ridiculously packed Yard House was and seeing that another bar of choice was not open, we landed on Predalina. It was booming in there prior to the game, with a mix of other fans and also better-dressed-than-I patrons who were obviously there specifically for Predalina and not just getting pregame cocktails. There were a few single chairs available at the bar - no two seats open next to each other - meaning one person in our party of two had to stand. No big deal and to be expected, given the time of day and the influx of people downtown for the game. We were greeted by our bartender, Jada, and boy, were we lucky to have her! I started with another whiskey sour - specifically requesting egg white this time and choosing Michter's as my liquor of choice. My dad got their in-menu Old Fashioned. His drink was out quite quickly and was great, with the flavors being slightly reminiscent of chocolate milk - in a good way. Mine took a bit longer, with her having the extra step of needing to add the egg, but it was worth the wait! It was very smooth and easy to sip on, not too sweet and not too sour. After we finished those, we ordered the zucchini chips (picture poorly taken by yours truly) and made a bit of a request of Jada. We asked if there were any drinks she had been working on or that she enjoyed making, adding that we were fine with any liquor other than vodka - something from bourbon to gin or mezcal - and left it all up to her. She ended up making us a mezcal sour (I think, also pictured). I am not the biggest mezcal fan myself, unlike my dad, but I always love trying what the bartender likes to make, and this cocktail definitely improved the mezcal experience for me. It made it much smoother, getting rid of the slight bitterness that you can get with mezcal sometimes and making the smokiness more bearable. My dad then requested she make one more of that same drink, but with Laphroaig instead, to see how that interacted with the other flavors of the cocktail. It had a similar effect, neutralizing a bit of the smokiness that, to me, is too much with Laphroaig on its own. Hats off to Jada for making some kick*** cocktails and, seemingly, having fun doing it - that's a big part of the experience, seeing the bartender enjoying their art. This is a great place for a night out with friends, a date night, or pregaming hockey games - or any other reason you may have to go somewhere and enjoy solid food and great cocktails - at least as long as you get Jada as your bartender. I can't speak for the other bartenders... yet.

There was never a reason to go back when you can instead walk an extra 30 seconds and go to Boulon. I ran into a guy that told me he loved going to Predalina Happy Hour. The happy hour is every day from 3-5pm. I had never been for happy hour, and this guy raved about how good the burger was so I thought I'd make my first appearance here since it opened. What really caught my eye though was, "Room Service." You get two dirty martinis, Predalina Caesar, kalamata aioli, crispy fries all for $35. I have recently got into dirty martinis so I really enjoyed both of mine. Now for the food, I would skip the Caesar salad and the fries. You are literally served like an entire 5 pound bag of fries. The fries tasted fine, but I felt like it was enough fries for a family of 4. The salad was pretty bland and blah. I asked if next time substitute all of the food and trade it for a 3rd dirty martini. They said no. What a gip. There's no point of this "deal" when the food is barely eatable. I still really wanted to try the burger even after 5 pounds of fries. So I did end up getting the $16 Predalina Burger. The burger was totally worth it. Way better than Room Service. I thought the burger was on par with Boulon. I also tried an $18 Monkey Business. Not nearly a strong enough mezcal taste for me. The drink fell flat. I still don't see why anyone would come here over Boulon. I just don't get it. Now when you are inside it's like you're eating in the dark. Open the curtains. Let some light in. What in the world is management here thinking? You have to use the flashlight on your phone to find your way around at all. I might try this spot one more time, but I've never been impressed when coming here. There are just too many better options on Water St.

We waited about 15 minutes just to get our check, and other tables around us waited close to 30 minutes to check out, not including the actual payment process. The menu isn't very typical, but the offerings themselves were interesting. We ordered the chicken, which was genuinely amazing and definitely the highlight of the meal. We also got the hummus. The hummus itself was good, but the portion was extremely large, and the pita bread that came with it was very thin and tasted a little stale. The French fries were really good. One thing they could improve on is the food presentation. Our plate had all the chicken piled on the bottom, fries on top, and the pita bread laid over everything, which felt a bit odd visually. The restaurant has a lot of potential, but the menu could benefit from being expanded a bit. There's also a mixed meat option on the menu priced at $200, which feels very high for the area. That said, the outside patio is really cute. If you do decide to come and try this place, I'd definitely recommend sitting outside. Overall, good food with room for improvement in service, presentation, and menu variety.
