Everything was delicious; food temp was just right and the ingredients were fresh. Typical choose your base, protein, toppings set up. There are specific items to choose from off the menu, as well as the build-your-own-bowl option. We chose to build our own bowls. My daughter ordered basmati rice and romaine lettuce, with spicy chicken, sweet potatoes, avocado, and feta cheese, drizzled with garlic dressing. I ordered the grilled chicken with brown rice, roasted veggies, topped with fire-roasted corn, feta cheese, and drizzled with greek vinaigrette dressing. Came on opening day, the typical craziness you would expect. Placed an order to go, everything came just as ordered! It is in a great location right next to whole foods and the restaurant looks like it will be very cute once finished with decorations. On my most recent visit- manager "Emma" was very rude to my wife and myself, and also openly rude and belittling to other staff right in front of us and other customers. So much so we felt uncomfortable. Very unprofessional and just mean. I feel bad for the other kids working with her because they were doing great and very kind to us. This place is very yummy, I have friends in other towns that have raved about Cava and I was so excited when this one finally opened in Tallahassee. Their harissa chicken is such a tasty combo of sweet and spicy, and they have so many tasty options of spreads, proteins and toppings. I also wish they would sell bottles of their dressings because MMMM it's just the cherry on top! The only negative thing I have to say about this place is that the staff is very unfriendly. Just expect it when you get there, because every time I've gone, which is somewhere between 5 and 10 times I'd say, they've been rude. Well, not really RUDE, more so just uninterested. We got to try Cava's menu during friends and family day and let me tell you, it is a MUST HAVE. Not only was the food unbelievable in taste and flavor but was also beyond colorful once presented in the bowl. Decided a good bowl would be right for lunch today... unfortunately, this was not the right choice. Upon entering the line was not too long, which was a good start. But the young person behind the counter seemed too busy speaking with the other young person behind the counter, to really pay attention to me as I attempted to order my bowl. It seem to me as a result my bowl was a little haphazard and not the lovely picturesque bowl indicative of photographs. While I was warned the harissa was spicy , after tasting, my opinion is the harissa was HOT and it really ruined the rest of the bowl. The veggies had an odd taste and the chicken was stringy. Overall, an unappealing and unsatisfactory meal. Outside looked nice so I choose a table outside...another unfortunate choice. One nearby table was two ladies who used profanity with every other breath, one table had a person screaming at air and saying you're not God, and the third was a young couple with a baby and a cat in some sort of bubble travel container that was placed directly in the sun. First of all, I came here for their soft launch, the day before their grand opening. It was ticket-only, but free. We got to try a meal while they were training the staff. I really liked everything I had. The food was decently priced, very fresh, and flavorful. I made my own bowl, and my husband had a gyro. Slow service, not enough staff, zero management presence. Ingredients were not fresh, too much dressing on the salad.

My second time here and they were out of pitas and have been for three days. No pitas, avocados or roasted veggies despite having a Whole Foods next door. Why could they buy veggies and roast them instead of waiting for a servepro truck? Don't people know how to cook? The manager was apologetic but did not happily make substitutions for non meat options. There were no falafels! I was truly disappointed because they have fantastic falafels. There should have been a sign on the door about what they were out of. When we got there, tables needed to be cleaned - but all the employees were busy behind the service line. I took a couple of new people there but now wish We'd gone to the Mexican restaurant. Any other time this would have been 3-4 stars. I wrote corporate about this and have not heard back. read more

Food is healthy and delicious! The format is stand in line and order a prepared bowl or pita or build your own, and it is handed to you at the end of the line along with your cups for drinks. No alcohol available. Service was decent, but there were no napkins in the restaurant, for the entirety of our meal (there were paper towels from an automated dispenser in the restroom, which some of the other guests, and I discovered, and helped ourselves to!) we observed more than one person inquire about napkins, and it was moderately busy, but I detected nonchalance on the part of the staff. My husband and I have been here about 5 times this week and we live across town. The food is incredible. The meat is always fresh and the sauces are so flavorful. I love that it's a healthy option that still fills me up. I usually get a make your own bowl and he makes his own pita. They stay really busy so we try to show up around 5 to avoid the line but even if we have to wait, it's worth it. I used to always go to whole foods for the hot bar but now I just skip it entirely! Lots of potential, but a few kinks to work out I think. I ordered via Uber, and before you disregard my comments, I was first delivery only 8 minutes away. With that said, I ordered a grain bowl with right rice, spicy and regular chicken, eggplant, harissa, and tzatziki dips, and garlic dressing. Right off the bat, the rice is cold. Like not lukewarm; refrigerated cold. Is that normal? Who knows bc there's no description. The tzatziki dip appeared to be missing. The eggplant and harissa dips were delicious, however the harissa had about 3x as much, and quickly overpowered the whole bowl. Both chickens were delicious, but again, barely warm. I'll reiterate, I'm only 8 minutes away. The garlic dressing was subtle and good. I would give this another try, perhaps in a few more months. read more
