Matt and Jason were a joy to work with, and they did an amazing job capturing our special day! First off, they were very helpful in the planning stages of documenting our day. We were able sit down and meet with Jason, who really listened to what we were looking for from our video. He was very thorough with learning the details of our day, so that all the great moments would be captured on film. Not only were they great in planning and correspondence leading up the wedding (They were especially great in their patience as we were juggling so many things regarding the preparations), but their execution and professionalism on that special day was top notch. We were able to have two videographers shoot the entire day, from our first look - which they captured so beautifully - to us driving off after the reception, and everything in between. They did a magnificent job working in conjunction with our photographer - Jessica Hill Photography - while we were taking our pictures before the wedding. They caught a lot of memorable, behind-the-scenes moments leading up to the ceremony, and then absolutely nailed the footage of the actual ceremony. Every moment was beautifully documented by Matt and Jason. Their great footage/documentation continued on into the party that was our reception. They got lots of interviews of our friends and family, did not miss one moment (from the Wii dance, Happy-matic Photobooth, speeches, first dance, parents' dance, cake cutting, garter toss, etc.), and were all over the dance floor as the Hit Machine rocked the house! Lastly, we were so impressed with the final product that Unveiled Productions provided for us. They made a video montage our day, but it wasn't just some generic video. They were very thorough, professional, and collaborative in the way they customized the video to how we wanted it to look. They asked for us to choose a song we wanted, asked for our input as far as what we wanted in the montage and customized it in a way captured the day so perfectly. It was done so well and anyone who wants to see it should go to their website or facebook page to check it out! Not only did they do a great job on the montage, but the DVDs (and Blue-Ray disc) that they gave us, truly made us so thankful we choose Unveiled Productions. Not only was every moment we were hoping for caught on film, allowing me and my wife to "remember back", but they did a phenomenal job catching those great moments that aren't 'scripted', so to speak. My husband and I are SO happy we invested in them and selected them to capture the essence of our beautiful wedding day. When first shopping around for a videographer months ago, my photographer and other vendors kept recommending adding Moving Pictures to our dream team line up. The only reservation I had was the price. Videography services are expensive in general and going with Moving Pictures did mean I had to up my budget some. (Note that it is steep but SO worth every single penny. I have no regrets whatsoever and I believe you truly get what you pay for--in this case, a high quality, perfect product). My husband and I were sold when we browsed their collection of work online. We literally went through and watched every single clip we could find on their website, Facebook, Instagram and FELL IN LOVE. It wasn't until we watched a Feature Film for a couple that made us say YES. The feature film hit us with a wave of emotions--we were joyous, our heart strings were pulled, we cried like babies--and we didn't even know this couple! We knew that if Moving Pictures would capture and present our day to make others feel the way we did with this couple--they were the ones for us. And so, we contacted them! I first spoke with Carrie who was wonderful in providing me all the helpful information (packages, prices, how they work, etc.). She was always quick to respond to my e-mails and gave me clear expectations and timelines. Once we signed with them, we were notified of who our Cinematographer would be, Rev, and he was kind enough to give us a call a few weeks prior to the big day to review expectations, the wedding day timeline, and any special requests we had. On the big day, Rev and his assistant Zee arrive and were so professional. What's great about Moving Pictures is how well they worked with our photography team, ANIKO Productions, to capture all the right shots and angles. You can tell they are such professionals in the work they do and considered everything. I knew our day was in the right hands with this team. Exactly three months after our wedding day we are contacted by Emily, our film editor. She invites us to come into the studio for a special premiere screening of our feature film. (Can I emphasize that it was only THREE MONTHS? I hear stories of films taking at least 5 months, or even 9-12!) My husband and I were in tears the entire time. The opening and closing, the speeches and stories interwoven throughout the entire film, the scoring, the beautiful, high quality footage--EVERYTHING was truly moving. They went above and beyond our expectations to put together a film that we will cherish forever. We were so happy with how everything turned out and there is absolutely nothing we would change. We loved his personality because he was outgoing but not pushy. We knew he would keep the minions in line, but in a nice and fun way. His work is impeccable. He has an amazing eye for detail and also captured the standard wedding shots with an artistic flair. He is very easy to work with and not outrageously priced. There is no doubt Eric Powell is a great photographer. But he is not easy to work with, is not very…read moreflexible and has a major attitude problem. In 2005, we booked Eric for our wedding. He had done a couple of other Indian weddings before and was recommended by a friend. For those who don't know, Indian weddings are 4 to 5 days long, with the wedding and reception falling on the penultimate day. Needless to say, it is a stressful event for the bride and groom. At our reception, he didn't like the way one of my groomsmen talked to him. Basically, he was taking family portrait pictures of some of our guests while others waited to take their pictures with us. We kept having to fetch him to come shoot pictures of us (the ones who had hired him) with our guests, but Eric kept drifting away. So I sent one of my groomsmen to call him, and Eric didn't like the way he was called in the middle of clicking someone. So he came up to us and threw a fit, causing quite a stir. He recapped the number of hours he had put in and that he had already stayed past his allotted time. After that, he stuck around for a little bit, took a few more pictures and left. The whole thing left a very sour taste in our mouth. Eric's attitude and his behavior took us by surprise. Perhaps he was tired, maybe he had booked another wedding that weekend and was double-shifting. Needless to say, he sort of ruined our reception for us and that memory will always remain. The next day, he called in the morning, but instead of apologizing, he asked for more money or he would not show up to the final event. Now if you have been married (and I am not talking about the drive-thru Vegas style or a low key event), you know it is stressful. There are days when things run behind schedule, and everyone has to stay a little late. If you are a to-be bride reading this, or someone who has been a bride, I have been told that your wedding day is the single most important event of your life and it is a day you have dreamed about since before you could spell the word "wedding". So even if your photographer is upset, or has an issue, he needs to suck it up, put on a smile and do his job. All issues/qualms can be discussed later. Right? Clearly it was NOT us. Our videographer was great. Our caterers were great. Our florist was great. We had no problems with anyone. In fact, we didn't have a problem with Eric until he took issue with being asked to photograph the bride and groom and threw a hissy fit. In his words "I am an artist and I will take the pictures that I want". I guess we didn't get the memo. So while his pictures may be good, he is certainly not a professional in my opinion. For small jobs, he might be ok. For longer, more intense stints, know that his temperament might work against you.
